Abstract

In today’s academic environment, higher education institutions are increasingly recognizing the importance of fostering critical thinking skills among students. As such, this study evaluates the effectiveness of rubric-based assessment in developing critical thinking skills among higher education students. A quantitative descriptive survey design was employed, targeting 65 respondents from various academic disciplines at institutions in Anambra State. Data were collected through a structured, validated questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including one-way ANOVA, were used to analyze the data. Results indicated that rubric-based assessments significantly enhance students' critical thinking skills by providing clear criteria, promoting consistency, and encouraging self-reflection. Specific components like analysis, logical reasoning, and synthesis contributed most significantly to critical thinking development. Additionally, feedback provided through rubric-based assessments played a crucial role in improving students' analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. This study highlights the importance of rubric-based assessment in higher education and provides recommendations for its effective implementation to foster critical thinking skills among students.

Abstract

The increasing disconnect between academic curricula and industry demands presents a major challenge in preparing graduates for the evolving workforce. This study examines the extent to which tertiary institutions in Anambra State, Nigeria, align their curricula with industry expectations, integrate innovative pedagogical approaches, and foster academia-industry collaboration to enhance graduate employability. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, involving 61 respondents drawn from academic staff, curriculum developers, and industry professionals. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods, including the Mann-Whitney U test and Spearman’s rho correlation analysis. Findings reveal significant gaps between current educational curricula and industry needs, limited integration of employer perspectives, and inadequate practical skill development. While innovative pedagogical approaches were identified as essential for producing industry-ready graduates, their implementation remains inconsistent across institutions. Similarly, academia-industry collaboration, including internship opportunities and research partnerships, was found to be weak, particularly in state institutions. The study pointed out the need for regular curriculum updates, increased technology integration in teaching. It recommends policy reforms, structured internship programs, and investment in skill-based learning as essential strategies for bridging the gap between academic training and labor market expectations. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesuaian sarana dan prasarana ruang praktik bidang keahlian teknik instalasi tenaga listrik di SMKN 1 Aceh Barat Daya. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriftif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara, lembar observasi dan wawancara. Data sarana dan prasarana yang diperoleh kemudian dibandingkan dengan standar yang telah ditentukan yang berdasarkan Permendikbud No. 34 Tahun 2018 tentang standar sarana dan prasarana Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan/Madrasah Aliyah Kejuruan (SMK/MAK). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian prasarana yang dilihat dari aspek luas ruang praktik termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai, kapasitas peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai, rasio peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai . Tingkat kelayakan sarana yang dilihat dari aspek perabot termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai, aspek peralatan termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai, aspek media pendidikan termasuk dalam kategori sesuai, dan aspek perlengkapan lain termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the cooperative setting interactive learning model on the learning outcomes of class XI students in the Microprocessor and Microcontroller Programming Engineering learning subjects at SMKS Muhammadiyah Banda Aceh. The approach used in research is quantitative, using experimental methods. The sample in this study was 12 people. To collect data, pre-test and post-test techniques were used. The research results show that there is an influence of the cooperative setting interactive learning model on the learning outcomes of class XI students in the Microprocessor and Microcontroller Programming Techniques learning subjects at SMKS Muhammadiyah Banda Aceh. This influence is marked by an increase in pre-test scores of 70 up to 80 in post-test. The hypothesis test shows a p score of = 0.005 < 0.05, so Ha is accepted, meaning that the interactive learning model of cooperative settings influences the learning outcomes of class XI students in the Microprocessor and Microcontroller Programming Engineering learning subjects at SMKS Muhammadiyah Banda Aceh. It can be concluded that interactive learning in a cooperative setting has been proven to be able to improve the learning outcomes of vocational school students.

Abstract

The use of Arduino Uno-based motion sensors has a significant impact on preventing rat pest attacks in rice fields. This prevention will provide added value for farmers in the productivity of their crops. In addition, the use of motion sensors in this research is considered more efficient and effective. The main problem faced is how to design a mouse midge device on rice plants using a motion sensor and how the working principle of a mouse midge device on rice plants uses a motion sensor. This study aimed to design a rat midges device in rice plants using motion sensors and to know the working principle of a rat midges device in rice plants using motion sensors. The research methods used are literature studies and practical studies. Electrical design using fritzing software. The software installation process uses the Arduino IDE and encodes the Arduino Uno to activate the buzzer and ultrasonic sensor. The research results show that testing a prototype of this rat midges tool uses an ultrasonic sensor based on Arduino Uno, which is a means to make it easier for farmers to repel very disturbing rat pests. With this prototype tool, it is hoped that it will be able to save and streamline time and energy. Based on the black box data above, testing of this prototype tool was declared successful. The condition of the hc-sr04 sensor module and buzzer in detecting mouse movement, with the parameters of the hc-sr04 sensor module ranging between < 4 meters can detect distance. Meanwhile, at a distance of ≥ 5 meters, the HC-SR04 sensor module is no longer able to detect it.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian metode pembelajaran dengan gaya belajar siswa di MIN 18 Aceh Besar. Gaya belajar yang diteliti menggunakan model VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional, melibatkan 35 siswa kelas VI. Data diperoleh melalui angket gaya belajar, observasi, dan kuesioner motivasi belajar, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 42,9% siswa memiliki gaya belajar visual, 34,3% auditori, dan 22,8% kinestetik. Guru lebih dominan menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, serta media visual sederhana. Sebanyak 57,1% siswa merasa metode pembelajaran sesuai dengan gaya belajarnya. Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif signifikan antara kesesuaian metode dengan motivasi belajar siswa (r = 0,59; p < 0,05).

Abstract

Fenomena Duck Syndrome menggambarkan kondisi mahasiswa yang tampak tenang dan berprestasi di permukaan, tetapi sebenarnya mengalami tekanan dan kelelahan mental yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi gejala Duck Syndrome pada mahasiswa Muslim di Indonesia, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi, serta strategi penanganannya dalam perspektif psikologi dan ajaran Islam. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods, melibatkan 120 responden dari tiga universitas di Indonesia melalui kuesioner skala Likert, serta wawancara mendalam dengan 10 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 64,2% mahasiswa mengalami gejala sedang hingga tinggi Duck Syndrome, dengan faktor dominan berupa tekanan akademik, ekspektasi keluarga, dan perbandingan sosial di media digital. Analisis kualitatif mengungkap peran penting konsep tawakkal, manajemen waktu Islami, dan dukungan komunitas sebagai proteksi psikologis. Temuan ini merekomendasikan integrasi konseling berbasis nilai Islam dalam layanan bimbingan kampus

Abstract

This study examines the advantages of teaching reading comprehension by using movie subtitle. The aim of this study is to investigate the good points of movie subtitle in improving students’ reading comprehension. The results from test and questionnaire show that this technique support teaching reading. This can be proved that students’ result was sharply improved. It means that the increase from the pre-test and the post-test was 60 %. The findings from the analysis of questionnaire show most of the students provide positive responses about students’ reflection on learning by using this technique in which the fast majority (69 %) of them agreed that movie subtitle technique helps them in comprehending the reading and also get a new knowledge from it. Therefore, it can be concluded that movie subtitle provide strong effect on students’ reading score and positive influence for them

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Seulimeum Aceh Besar masih kurang bervariasi dalam penggunaan media khususnya pada materi interaksi antar makhluk hidup dan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respon peserta didik terhadap E-LKPD berbasis literasi sains pada materi interaksi antar makhluk hidup dan lingkungannya. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui angket respon peserta didik. Teknik analisis data respon peserta didik menggunakan statistic deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan respon peserta didik diperoleh nilai sebesar 86,41% dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-LKPD berbasis literasi sains mendapat respon positif peserta didik untuk digunakan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran pada materi interaksi antar makhluk hidup.
