Abstract

This study aims to enhance the activity of fourth-grade students in Phase B of Catholic Religious Education at SDN 15 Teluk Pongkal through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. PBL was chosen because it encourages students to think critically and actively participate in the learning process. In this learning approach, students are engaged in solving problems that are relevant to their daily lives. The research findings indicate that the average test score of students significantly improved from 69 in Cycle 1 to 80 in Cycle 2. This increase reflects the effectiveness of the PBL model in enhancing the learning process. Additionally, the P3 observation data showed that student activity also rose, with an average of 53% in Cycle 1 and increasing to 67% in Cycle 2. Thus, the implementation of the PBL model not only improves students' academic scores but also strengthens their engagement in learning. Through this approach, students are expected to become more active, critical, and creative in addressing various problems they encounter. This study contributes significantly to the development of more interactive and engaging teaching methods, especially in the context of Catholic education.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental pillar in nation-building, and continuous efforts are required to enhance the quality of education. The Merdeka Curriculum, implemented in Indonesia, includes Catholic Religious Education and Character Education. However, SD Xaverius Lubuklinggau faces challenges in improving students' learning outcomes in these subjects, particularly in Phase C of Grade V in the Science Program. The issues are related to character and academic achievements. This research proposes a solution by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by powerpoint media. The aim of the study is to evaluate the improvement of students' learning outcomes in the aspects of faithful character and academic achievement. Through classroom action research with two cycles using tests and observations as data collection techniques, the results indicate that the PBL model assisted by powerpoint media is effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes With a focus on the material that women and men complement each other, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how innovative approaches can improve the quality of education, particularly in the context of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education at SD Xaverius Lubuklinggau.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of 5th-grade students at SD Negeri 030298 Simallopuk in the subject of Catholic Religious Education by applying the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the application of the PjBL model significantly improved students' learning outcomes. In the first cycle, only 67.57% of students achieved mastery, but after improvements in the second cycle, the mastery rate increased to 78.38%. Additionally, the model enhanced student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Therefore, PjBL is considered effective in improving students' learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education.

Abstract

This article was written based on the results of observations while teachers were taking PPL while pursuing professional teacher education. From the research, it was found that students' learning creativity was lacking due to the use of monotonous learning models and not using appropriate approaches for each subject matter. For this reason, the author tries to apply the Problem Based Learning learning model. Problem-based learning or better known as PBL is a learning model that is centered on students by providing problems from the real world at the start of learning. With this learning model, it is hoped that it can increase student learning creativity. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) in increasing students' creativity in studying the material "Voices of the Heart" in class X at SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan, Madiun. Data was collected through written tests, observations and interviews. The research results showed a significant increase in student creativity after implementing PBL. Students become more active, involved, and able to produce more creative solutions to problems. This research shows that PBL can be an effective approach to increasing student creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education subjects through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method for fifth-grade students at SDN 5 Batas Nangka during the 2024/2025 academic year. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, with one meeting in each cycle. Each cycle consists of several stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The first and second cycles cover the topics of "Men and Women Created in the Image of God," focusing on their different duties and roles, and the material "Concept of Men and Women Created in the Image of God" based on Genesis 1:26-27. The subjects of this study are seven fifth-grade Catholic religious education students at SDN 5 Batas Nangka. Data collection techniques used were observation and tests. The results indicate that the implementation of the PBL method significantly improved learning outcomes from the first to the second cycle. In the first cycle, the affective aspect of students showed 57.14% in the capable category and 42.86% in the adequate category, increasing to 100% in the capable category in the second cycle. In the cognitive aspect, students scored 28.57% in the proficient category, 28.57% in the capable category, and 42.86% in the adequate category, which increased to 42.86% in the proficient category and 57.14% in the capable category in the second cycle. For the psychomotor aspect, students showed 71.43% in the capable category and 28.57% in the adequate category, which increased to 42.86% in the proficient category and 57.14% in the capable category in the second cycle. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the PBL method can enhance the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education for fifth-grade students at SDN 5 Batas Nangka.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on improving students' learning outcomes in the subject "Kemampuan dan Keterbatasanku" (My Abilities and Limitations) at SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR), the study was conducted in two cycles involving Grade 7 students. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and observations, showing improvements in both cognitive understanding and student engagement. Problem Based Learning proved effective in helping students connect learning to real-life problems, fostering critical thinking and collaboration. Despite initial challenges in participation and motivation, students' outcomes significantly improved by the second cycle, with 75% of students meeting the learning goals. The findings suggest that Problem Based Learning can be an effective teaching model to enhance students' understanding and promote independentl earning.

Abstract

The main problem in this paper is focused on efforts to improve student learning outcomes in Catholic religious learning activities using the PBL (problem based learning) learning method. Considering that producing a scientific work requires a long process such as exploring ideas, finding references, conducting research or analysis, obstacles and problems are often unavoidable. The aim of problem-based learning was developed to help students develop thinking abilities, develop problem-solving abilities, intellectual skills, and become independent students. The problem-based learning method consists of 8 stages, namely finding problems, defining problems, collecting facts, formulating hypotheses, conducting investigations, refining problems that have been defined, concluding alternative problem solving collaboratively, and testing the results (solutions) of problem solving.

Abstract

Education is an ongoing process aimed at developing human potential holistically, encompassing teaching, training, and experience. The Merdeka Curriculum allows schools, teachers, and students to adapt the learning process based on individual needs and potentials. In the context of Catholic Religious Education, its primary goal is to shape faith and character according to Catholic teachings. However, at SDN 14 Kuala Mandor B, the main challenge in Catholic Religious Education is the dominance of the lecture method, which results in low student participation. This affects the depth of understanding of the material taught. To address this issue, the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) can be an effective solution. PBL places students at the center of learning, encourages collaboration, and enhances active student engagement, thereby improving learning outcomes in line with the school's vision and mission.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning achievement of participants in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education for class VIII-1 students at SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai for the 2024/2025 academic year in the subjects of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles with 2 meetings per cycle. Each cycle consists of several stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The first and second cycles discuss the material on the Call and Mission of Jesus' Disciples and the Consequences of Jesus' Preaching. The subjects in this research were Catholic students in class VIII-1 of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai for the 2024/2025 academic year, consisting of 21 people. The main techniques for collecting data are carried out by means of tests and observations, while supporting techniques use interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII-1 students starting from cycle I and cycle II, namely 81 in cycle I, increasing to 89 in cycle II. The conclusion of this research is that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by the interactive media of jingling buttons can improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character for students in class VIII-1 of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

Failure in Catholic religious teaching can occur because religious educators are insufficiently prepared. Apart from that, educators feel that they can teach well, so that many educators like to teach by taking shortcuts, do not prepare learning plans, are unable to implement learning methods or models to the situation and needs of students, so that the learning that takes place is monotonous and boring and students who nowadays are more preoccupied with communication media so that many of them end up busy with their own affairs, the aim of this research is to determine the increase in learning outcomes with the Bamboozle-assisted PBL method and the increase in learning achievement targets for class X students at Budi Murni Catholic High School 3 Medan, this research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Bamboozle. In this research, two cycles have been carried out. Overall, the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Bamboozle can improve student learning outcomes. This is proven by the increase in grades. the results of P3 qualitative observations in Cycle I were 73.32 and in Cycle II namely 82.04 and the increase in post test student learning outcomes was seen from the details of the achievements of each cycle, namely in Cycle I New Developing 6 people = 24%, Eligible = 7 people = 28%, Eligible = 8 people = 32%, Proficient = 4 people = 16%. Meanwhile, in Cycle II Newly Developing = 1 person = 4%, Decent = 2 people = 8%, Capable = 5 people = 20%, proficient = 17 people = 68%, and the average score shows an increase from 76.2 in the appropriate category to 86 .8 in the advanced category.
