JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES is a journal that uses a double-blind peer review model that can be accessed online. The purpose of HUMAS JOURNAL is to publish a journal containing quality articles that will be able to contribute thoughts from a theoretical and empirical perspective in society and humanities at a regional, national, and global scale. The writings at JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES will significantly contribute to critical thinking in the area of society and humanities. The scope of the fields contained in HUMAS JOURNAL covers the following areas: social work, social welfare, social change, and social policy; humanism and human rights; corporate governance, and community studies; crosscultural and multiculturalism studies; economy, management, population and development studies; ethics, and intergroup relations; war, conflict, and international relations; local genius (local wisdom and local knowledge); popular culture; studies of inequality (class, race and gender studies); theology philosphy art literature and other related areas. Articles published on research results and literature review with acceptable research methodologies, qualitative studies, quantitative studies, or a combination of both, statistical analysis, case studies, field research, and historical studies. JISH received manuscripts from various related circles, such as relevant researchers, professors, students, policy-makers, scientists, and others.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the long history of the Salakanagara kingdom. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach, and uses a descriptive research type, namely a formulation of the problem that guides the research to be able to explore, provide an overview and analyze the findings of the data in the field as a whole, broadly and intensively from the informants. This study explains and provides an overview of the long history of the kingdom of Salakanagara (Pandeglang, Banten). The Salakanagara Kingdom is only a Regional Kingdom. When led by Dewawarman VIII, the people of the Salakanagara kingdom prospered and lived happily. The decline of Salakanagara began in the 362nd century AD led by Dewawarman IX, not long after the birth and development of the Tarumanegara kingdom. The Salakanagara Kingdom was taken over to become a new part of the Tarumanegara kingdom.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out the role of political parties in organizing general elections. The writing method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive writing method which describes this research in the form of descriptive sentences based on facts and data. From these arguments, we can conclude that democracy has unique advantages because it reflects the aspirations of the people in every decision-making. Society as the main actor in a democratic country plays a very important role. One of the functions of society in a democratic country is public participation in politics, in this case general elections. Local governments have a very important role in determining executive and legislative power both at the center and in the regions. Therefore, civic education is needed which the public must know so that they don't just vote or participate in realizing a democratic party. Good civics education produces wise people not to choose the wrong leaders and representatives. Thus, the wishes and expectations of the people can be communicated and implemented by the government.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the teaching and learning process of students with intellectual disabilities is quite interesting, because of the development of a child who shows limitations in intellectual functioning and social adaptation. Students with intellectual disabilities have below-average intelligence and difficulty learning, understanding, and solving problems, especially in communication. The purpose of this study is to find out how the communication strategies used by teachers in teaching students with intellectual disabilities at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels at the SLB B / C Budi Lestari Education Foundation, Sukatani Depok. This research uses Charles Berger's theory of Planning and the theory of Symbolic Interactionism by George Herbert Mead. This research uses qualitative methods and constructivist paradigms. The results of this study show that teacher communication strategies in teaching students with intellectual disabilities both elementary, junior high, and high school at the SLB B / C Budi Lestari Sukatani Education Foundation, Depok are using media assistance and combining verbal and non-verbal forms of communication in the learning process. Teachers apply communication strategies, namely to secure understanding, to establish acceptance, and to motivate action. The process of implementing strategies is carried out by interacting using the help of media such as images, computers, body language, and facial expressions.

Abstract

The implementation of “Merdeka” curriculum continues to be carried out at all levels of education in Indonesia with the aim of improving teaching learning process. This policy certainly brings impacts and changes for teachers and stakeholders of Indonesian education. One of the changes is about planning the lesson. In this new curriculum, teachers need to have a lesson plan or teaching module to help direct the learning process to achieve learning outcomes that have been stated by the government. This case study aims to investigate teachers’ understanding toward the preparation of teaching module, especially English subject in phase D. Twenty-seven Junior High School English teachers in Kediri became the subjects of this study. The data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire with five answer choice options submitted online through the Google Form application followed by a guided- interviews. The results showed that in general teachers had good understanding of Phase D English learning outcomes, components of teaching modules and their development, English learning approaches using the Genre Based Approach and its cycles and stages. However, some of teachers were uncertain about constructing of learning objectives, the selection of types and forms of assessment. It is recommended to the government and parties related to the development of teacher competencies in learning planning to provide training for the teachers about composing teaching objectives, form and types of assessment aspects so that teachers’ competence and teaching quality can be improved.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of vegetable growing activities in science learning in early childhood at the ndalem kerto tour. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques obtained using observation and interview techniques. Based on the results of the research that planting vegetables can provide children with understanding related to science learning, namely the biological science of plant reproduction, the biological science that plants are living things that need food, and the biological science that plants need sunlight to grow.

Abstract

Schizoaffective disorder is a disorder that has the characteristics of schizophrenia and affective or mood disorders. Schizoaffective disorder is an illness in which persistent psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations or delusions, occur together with a mood disorder such as depressive, manic, or mixed episodes. As a result, an individual with this disorder will be unable to carry out their daily activities. Therefore, behavior modification is carried out to reduce these behavioral symptoms. In this study, researchers used a research method, namely the single subject experimental method, by behavioral activation to activate alternative behaviors. The subject in this study is 1 person who showed psychoaffective symptoms. The subject is aged 26 years. The sampling of the subject is based on symptoms obtained from interviews and observations with medical record data. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and psychological tests (WAIS, GRAPHICS, TAT, WWQ). The interventions carried out were behavior modification using behavioral activation to train subject independence and family therapy as education in providing treatment to the subject. After giving psychoeducation, the family understood what to do and what not to do in dealing with the client. Additionally, the family was aware of their negligence too. They also understood how to deal with and control the client. After providing Behavioral Activation, the client perceived that they have activities that must be done every day. They believed that they have responsibility for every activity. They became more organized and less confused at home.

Abstract

The madrasah principal's style, method, and managerial abilities in his capacity as a leader are very important for success in improving teacher performance under his leadership. The purpose of this study was to reveal in depth the managerial leadership style of the Ibtidaiyyah Assa'idiyyah Cipanas Cianjur madrasa principal in improving teacher performance. This research is a qualitative field research that is a descriptive case study in nature. Methods of data collection using in-depth observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out starting from data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Extended attendance, triangulation, peer discussions, and clarification with informants were carried out to test the validity of the data. The study results show that the madrasah head's planning to build the character of teacher performance at MI Assa'idiyyah Cipanas Cianjur.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of democratic leadership style on teacher performance in Kuttab & PPQ An-Nubuwwah Sukabumi. A quantitative approach was used in this study using data collection methods through questionnaires which were distributed to teachers as the research sample. The results of the study show that the democratic leadership style has a significant positive effect on teacher performance. Democratic leadership style allows teachers to involve students in the learning process, encourages active involvement, and builds strong relationships between teachers and students. In the context of Islamic educational institutions, the democratic leadership style has proven effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine Human Resource Management in an Islamic Perspective: Review of the Qur'an using descriptive qualitative research methods, quoting several verses of the Qur'an related to Human Resource Management. Human resource management is deemed necessary for the development of an organization and for managing all employee activities. Employees are expected to be able to realize the goals to be achieved in an organization. Human resource management includes determining employee activities starting from employee selection, training and development as well as all activities related to employee activities within the scope of the organization. In an Islamic perspective, everything must be done in a neat, correct, orderly and orderly manner.

Abstract

This paper describes the use of the tinira plant in the local language in the Wawonii archipelago, Konawe Regency Islands, in general tinira is known as young rattan which is generally used as a consumption pattern for most people in Indonesia. Tinira is used socially, culturally and religiously so that this traditional food is always a special dish at every event in Wawonii village. In utilizing tinira, the community uses it wisely so that knowledge is needed for group members who will choose tinira that is suitable for consumption. Harmony with nature and the forest is an important part of preserving because traditional tinira food is integrated with event held in Wawonii village such as traditional weddings, events of death and the completion of the Qur’an. The method use in this paper is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in – dept interviews, regular interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by connecting between various categories of data and grouping them based on their purpose, then synergizing and connecting them with various literature and other data so that data was obtained that could be discussed in its entirety and comprehensively. The results showed that tinira had been used for generations and was able to enculturate the people of the Wawonii islands. The use of tinira is able to strengthen the mepokowali collaboration system from the start of preparing for social, cultural and religions events.
