Abstract

The science of hadith is a branch of Islamic science that holds a very important position in understanding Islamic teachings comprehensively. This article aims to examine two main branches of hadith science, namely the Science of Hadith Riwayah and the Science of Hadith Dirayah, along with their scope, objects of study, and urgency in contemporary Islamic studies. Through a library research approach, this article systematically describes the definition, history of development, methods, and contributions of both sciences to the authenticity and understanding of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The results of the study indicate that the Science of Hadith Riwayah focuses on the aspects of transmission and preservation of hadith texts, while the Science of Hadith Dirayah emphasizes criticism of the sanad and matan to determine the level of authenticity of the hadith. Both are complementary and inseparable in the effort to understand and practice the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW correctly and authentically

Abstract

This article examines the concept of the universe as described in the Qur'an and Hadith and analyzes its relationship with modern science. Using a library research method, this study explores Qur'anic verses and prophetic traditions that describe the creation, structure, and purpose of the universe. The findings reveal that the Qur'an presents the universe as an organized and purposeful creation of Allah SWT, referred to as ayat kauniyah (signs of God's greatness in the natural world). The creation process is described in stages from a unified state (ratq), its separation (fatq), the smoke phase (dukhan), the formation of seven heavens and the earth, to the ongoing expansion of the universe—showing remarkable convergence with modern cosmological theories such as the Big Bang. The study identifies four key wisdoms of creation: a stage for testing human deeds (ibtila'), a facility supporting humanity's stewardship role (taskhir), moral education on discipline and diligence (sunnatullah), and liberation from nihilism. The article concludes that the Qur'an and modern science are not contradictory but complementary, where science explains the mechanism of the universe and the Qur'an provides its meaning and moral direction.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the modern era has brought various conveniences as well as moral challenges to human life. Rapid technological advancement is often not balanced with the strengthening of spiritual and ethical values, resulting in moral crises, disinformation, and degradation of humanity. On the other hand, Muslims still face the problem of scientific dichotomy that separates religious knowledge from general sciences. This article aims to analyze the integration of Islamic da’wah with the development of science and technology through critical and logical thinking based on the Qur’an and Sunnah. This study employed a library research method using a descriptive-analytical approach toward various Islamic and modern scholarly sources. The findings indicate that da’wah in Islam is not limited to verbal preaching but can also be implemented through professionalism, scientific development, and ethical use of technology. The integration between revelation and science needs to be carried out through an interconnected approach so that technological advancement remains within the framework of human welfare. Therefore, the mastery of science and technology grounded in Islamic values can become a relevant instrument of da’wah in building modern civilization

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of the human sensory system from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith, the function of the sensory system in Islam, its relevance to modern science, and the ethical and spiritual implications of its use in the digital era. The study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method (library research). Primary data were obtained from verses of the Qur'an and Hadith related to the sensory system, while secondary data came from books, scientific journals, and relevant academic articles. Data collection was carried out through documentation and literature review, then analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method with a thematic interpretation approach (maudhu'i). The results of the study indicate that the sensory system in the Qur'an and Hadith not only functions biologically, but also has intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions. In addition, the concept of the sensory system in Islam is in line with the findings of modern science, particularly in the fields of embryology, neuroscience, and psychology. The use of the sensory system in the digital era also has ethical and spiritual implications that require control in accordance with Islamic values.

Abstract

The fast-growing influence of digital technology and social networking platforms has brought remarkable changes to the lives of elementary school children. Various internet trends now shape the way students think, behave, and live their daily routines. This situation becomes a challenge for schools in strengthening religious values among young learners. This study discusses the formation of students’ religious habitus at SD Negeri 2 Selabaya in the midst of an increasingly dominant consumerist culture. Using a qualitative approach involving observation, interviews, and documentation, the study reveals that the school promotes religious character through group prayers, chanting Asmaul Husna, Islamic learning activities, religious celebrations, and the practice of discipline and respectful behavior. Even so, social media still strongly affects students, especially in their enthusiasm for viral trends and modern popular culture. Consequently, cooperation between schools and parents is essential in reinforcing children’s religious character development.

Abstract

This article examines the monumental works of Muslims in the fields of science and technology, particularly during the Islamic Golden Age from the 8th to the 14th century. Using a literature review method, this study explores the contributions of prominent Muslim scholars including Al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Al-Haytham, and Jabir ibn Hayyan. The findings reveal that these scholars produced landmark works such as Kitab Al-Jabr wa Al-Muqabalah in mathematics, Al-Qanun fi Al-Tibb in medicine, Kitab Al-Manazir in optics, and Kitab Al-Kimya in chemistry. These works not only advanced knowledge within the Islamic world but were also translated into Latin and became foundational references at European universities for centuries. The study concludes that Islamic civilization played a decisive role in preserving and advancing global scientific knowledge, and that the intellectual legacy of Muslim scholars remains highly relevant to the development of modern science.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial yang masif di kalangan generasi muda Indonesia menimbulkan tantangan sekaligus peluang dalam pembentukan karakter Islami. Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi pendidikan Islami yang dikombinasikan dengan penguatan spiritual untuk membentuk karakter generasi Muslim yang kokoh di era digital. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi pustaka terhadap jurnal terakreditasi, buku-buku pendidikan Islam, serta laporan penelitian mengenai dampak media sosial terhadap akhlak generasi muda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa integrasi literasi digital berbasis nilai-nilai Islam, keteladanan orang tua, guru, dan tokoh agama, serta internalisasi praktik spiritual seperti tadabbur Al-Qur’an, dzikir, dan pembiasaan ibadah dapat melindungi generasi muda dari degradasi moral akibat konten negatif media sosial. Media sosial juga dapat ditransformasikan menjadi sarana dakwah kreatif melalui produksi konten Islami yang relevan dengan budaya digital anak muda. Penelitian ini menawarkan model pembentukan karakter Islami yang holistik dan sistematis untuk diimplementasikan oleh keluarga, madrasah, dan pesantren dalam menghadapi tantangan era media sosial.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the reconstruction of Islamic educational thought from the perspective of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas as a response to the challenges of modernity and the epistemological crisis in education. Al-Attas emphasizes the concept of ta’dib as the core of Islamic education, which is not merely oriented toward the transfer of knowledge but also toward the formation of proper conduct (adab) and a holistic human personality. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, by analyzing the works of Al-Attas as well as other relevant literature. The findings indicate that the reconstruction of Islamic education, according to Al-Attas, must be grounded in the integration of knowledge and values, as well as the purification of knowledge from secular influences. He asserts that the ultimate goal of Islamic education is to produce a civilized human being (insan adabi), who is able to place things in their proper order according to their true nature. Furthermore, his concept of the Islamization of knowledge serves as a fundamental framework in developing an educational system rooted in the Islamic worldview. Therefore, Al-Attas’s thought provides a significant contribution to the reconstruction of Islamic education that is both relevant to contemporary developments and firmly grounded in authentic Islamic values. This article is expected to serve as a reference for developing an integrative model of Islamic education that emphasizes character formation and is based on the principles of Islamic epistemology.
