Abstract

This study examines the implementation of 4C-based learning strategies (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to enhance students’ competencies. The 4C approach emphasizes the integration of higher-order thinking skills, innovative problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication within the learning process. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through classroom observation, interviews, and literature review. The findings indicate that the application of 4C strategies in PAI learning encourages students to actively analyze religious concepts, express creative ideas, collaborate in group discussions, and communicate their understanding effectively. Moreover, this approach not only improves cognitive competence but also strengthens affective and social skills, such as responsibility, tolerance, and mutual respect. The integration of 4C in PAI learning creates a more interactive, meaningful, and student-centered learning environment. Therefore, 4C-based learning strategies can serve as an effective pedagogical approach to develop holistic student competencies in accordance with the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Advances in communication technology in the modern era have enabled faster and more widespread interaction, but they also present challenges in upholding communication ethics. In Islam, communication has a moral dimension that is regulated in the Qur’an, one example being in Surah Al-Isra’ 53, which emphasizes the importance of speaking well and truthfully. This study analyzes the implementation of moral values in modern communication using the Double Movement developed by Fazlur Rahman. This approach links the historical context of the revelation of the verse with its application in contemporary life. The results of the study indicate that the main principles in Islamic communication include speaking politely and truthfully, avoiding slander and hoaxes, and refraining from provocation and sowing discord. By understanding and applying these principles, communication can be more moral, ethical, and in accordance with Islamic teachings, thereby creating a communication environment that is harmonious and constructive.

Abstract

Religious moderation is an important concept in maintaining harmony in Indonesia's multicultural and pluralistic society. This study aims to analyze religious moderation from the perspective of comparative religion and explain its relevance in Indonesian social life. The study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach through a review of various books, scientific journals, and academic sources related to religious moderation and comparative religion. The results show that religious moderation is a perspective and practice of religion that emphasizes balance, tolerance, justice, and the rejection of extremism and radicalism. From the perspective of comparative religion, religious moderation is understood as an effort to understand religious diversity objectively and inclusively in order to create dialogue and harmony between religious communities. Comparative religion plays a crucial role in building mutual respect and reducing negative prejudice between religious communities through an academic and dialogical approach. This study also finds that religious moderation has very strong relevance in Indonesia, especially in facing the challenges of intolerance, radicalism, and the spread of hate speech in the digital era. Furthermore, education plays a strategic role in strengthening the values ​​of religious moderation through learning tolerance, digital literacy, and respect for diversity. Thus, religious moderation is a crucial foundation for creating a peaceful, harmonious, and civilized society amidst Indonesia's religious and cultural diversity.

Abstract

This study examines the relevance of the concept of ta’dib in contemporary education, which faces challenges such as moral crises, secularization, and the reduction of education to mere knowledge transfer. The aim of this research is to reanalyze the position of ta’dib as an educational paradigm emphasizing the formation of adab in the modern context. The method employed is a literature review with a conceptual analysis approach toward relevant literature and the thoughts of Islamic education scholars. The findings indicate that ta’dib remains highly relevant in addressing contemporary educational issues, as it integrates cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions holistically. It not only emphasizes knowledge acquisition but also character building and ethical awareness grounded in Islamic values. Therefore, ta’dib can serve as an alternative paradigm for developing a more holistic and character-oriented education system in the context of modernity

Abstract

Quranic proverbs are one method of conveying divine messages used to facilitate human understanding of the meaning of verses. The parables in the Quran not only function as a beauty of language, but also contain profound educational, reflective, and argumentative values. However, not all readers are able to understand the meaning of proverbs correctly without an adequate scientific approach. This study aims to analyze the concept of Quranic proverbs, their characteristics, and their function in understanding the meaning of verses. This study uses a literature study method (library research) with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources in this study consist of books, scientific journals, Quranic commentaries, and other literature relevant to the research topic. The results show that Quranic proverbs have various forms, such as proverbs musarrahah, kaminah, and mursalah, each of which has its own characteristics. In addition, proverbs function to facilitate understanding, strengthen messages, and provide lessons (ibrah) for their readers. Thus, understanding Quranic proverbs is crucial for interpreting verses more deeply, contextually, and with greater applicability to everyday life.

Abstract

Islamic education has a strategic role in shaping students’ mindsets and characters, including their understanding of gender equality values. However, educational practices are still influenced by social constructions, patriarchal culture, and textual religious interpretations that lead to inaccuracies in gender perspectives. This study aims to analyze the accuracy of gender perspectives in Islamic education through a critical study of the internalization of gender values at SMA Islam Temayang. This research employed a qualitative approach with a critical case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school policies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing based on social construction theory and justice-based Islamic education. The results show that the internalization of gender values has encouraged mutual respect between male and female students, although stereotypes of roles and gender-based activity divisions are still found. Islamic education therefore requires a contextual approach so that gender equality values can be realized concretely within school culture..

Abstract

Discourse on the nature of truth often triggers tension between the positivistic paradigm of Western scholarship and dogmatic religious beliefs. This article aims to analyze the concept of religious truth within the epistemological framework of the philosophy of science and analyze its relevance as a philosophical foundation in contemporary Islamic law-making (istinbath) methodology. Using a qualitative method based on library research, this study combines philosophical and normative-ushuliyah approaches to analyze authoritative texts related to the philosophy of science and the renewal of ushul fiqh. The results show that in Islamic epistemology, revealed (religious) truth and rational-empirical (scientific) truth are complementary. In the context of contemporary ijtihad, establishing law on modern issues (such as bioethics and the digital economy) requires an integration of both. The philosophy of science and knowledge provides empirical data to verify the object of law (tahqiq al-manath), while religious truth acts as an axiological framework that maintains the objectives of sharia (maqasid al-shari'ah). This article concludes that dialogue between scientific and religious truth is absolutely necessary so that Islamic legal products do not become trapped in textual puritanism, but rather remain logical, relevant, and solution-oriented in responding to the challenges of modern civilization.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought about a contemporary phenomenon where husbands pronounce divorce (talak) to their wives through social media, which raises profound philosophical and juridical challenges. This study aims to analyze the legal validity of social media-based divorce (ontology), its methods of legal proof and verification (epistemology), as well as its sociological impacts and the protection of post-divorce rights for wives and children (axiology). Employing a qualitative method with a library research approach, this study examines the issue from both Islamic law and Indonesian positive law perspectives. The results demonstrate that ontologically, the majority of Islamic scholars (jumhur ulama) consider social media divorce via text messages valid, as it is analogized (diqiyaskan) with written divorce (thalaq bi al-kitabah). Epistemologically, digital evidence such as WhatsApp messages is recognized as valid legal evidence in the Religious Court under the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law, yet it requires strict verification (tabayyun) to ensure authenticity and the husband's actual intent (qashad). Axiologically, while digital divorce can be deemed valid, the divorce process must strictly be conducted before the Religious Court to ensure justice, protection, and the fulfillment of financial and social rights for both wives and children.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of istiqamah in the Qur’an through a thematic interpretation (maudhu’i) approach, emphasizing the harmony of meaning across verses as developed by M. Quraish Shihab. The primary problem addressed in this study is how the Qur’an constructs a comprehensive concept of istiqamah through the integration of messages in several different verses. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research design and a thematic approach, analyzing QS. Hud [11]: 112, QS. Fussilat [41]: 30–32, and QS. Al-Ahqaf [46]: 13–14. Data were collected from primary sources, including the Qur’an and classical commentaries, supported by other relevant literature. The results indicate that these verses possess a harmonious relationship and form a complete conceptual pattern: beginning with the command to remain steadfast, followed by guarantees of tranquility and angelic protection, and concluding with promises of salvation and happiness in the hereafter. This harmony reaffirms that istiqamah is not merely behavioral consistency but a continuous process reflecting the depth of faith and obedience to Allah. Consequently, this study concludes that the concept of istiqamah in the Qur’an is harmoniously structured and holds strong relevance in the formation of individual character and social life.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic educational philosophy and digital literacy is essential in responding to the moral challenges faced by Muslim generations in the digital era, marked by ethical decline, limited self-regulation, and the rapid expansion of information. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic educational philosophy in strengthening character through a digital literacy approach. The research employs a literature review method using philosophical, epistemological, and axiological perspectives based on various scholarly sources. The findings reveal that combining the values of tawhid, morality, and adab with digital literacy skills can foster a critical, prudent, and well-grounded Muslim generation. Furthermore, this integration enhances ethical awareness in technology use and supports the internalization of Islamic values in everyday digital practices.
