Abstract

The existing Islamic religious education curriculum shows a clear separation between subjects like Al-Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, and the history of Islamic culture. Full integration of these elements is lacking, but it has the potential to improve students' religious experiences by providing comprehensive support for worship. Madrasah institutions face challenges related to ownership, environment, and teachers adapting to technological advancements in the current era. This study aims to explore how PAI (Islamic Religious Education) teachers implement innovative approaches in madrasahs. Employing a qualitative research design with a literature review methodology, information was gathered from various regulations, books, and magazines. We opted for a qualitative approach to explore innovative curriculum changes that can improve the quality of millennial-era madrasahs with Islamic characteristics. The literature review exposed a predominant focus on subject-centric designs influenced by teachers and infrastructure in constructing Islamic religious education curricula in madrasahs. In response, a proposed ideal model emphasizes an integrated learning approach tailored for the millennium era. This model strives to enhance Islamic language skills through integration. The study concludes by underlining key themes: innovation, curriculum development, Islamic religious education, madrasah, and the era of Society 5.0.

Abstract

Character education is now a focal point in Indonesia's education system, aligning with national development goals to cultivate students who embody faith, piety, noble character, health, knowledge, competence, creativity, independence, and responsibility. To counter the erosion of moral values in adolescents influenced by modernization and globalization, effective character education implementation is crucial. Since the 2013 curriculum is deemed ineffective, the project-based independent curriculum aims to fortify students' characters. SD Baiturrohman GMI Jember is among the schools that have adopted this approach. This qualitative research illustrates the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), emphasizing tolerance in Class V-B SD Baiturrohman GMI. P5, themed "Global Diversity," unfolds in four stages: Variety of Greetings, Celebrations, Virtual Tours, and Collaboration in the Virtual World. Students engage in enjoyable activities like treasure hunting, crafting board games, virtual tourism exploration, and collaborative online ventures. Notably, these activities enhance understanding and practice of tolerance, showcasing the effectiveness of project-based learning facilitated by teachers. However, further efforts are required to ensure all students achieve the P5 goals.

Abstract

Improving education quality is a crucial policy in Indonesia, yet Fiqh education in Madrasah Aliyah faces challenges due to potentially unengaging teaching methods. Textbooks play a pivotal role as the primary source of knowledge. This study evaluates the appropriateness of the Class X Fiqh Textbook in the context of contextual learning, aligning teaching material with real-world scenarios for practical student connections. The article specifically focuses on analyzing Class X Fiqh Textbooks in the context of contextual learning. This exploratory and descriptive study uses checklists and documentation to analyze data, incorporating theoretical insights from literature studies. The findings reveal the absence of the constructivism element, the presence of standardized procedural topics like Hajj, Umrah, Qurban, and Aqiqah, and predominantly conceptual material in discussions about wealth ownership release, usury, banks, and insurance. Consequently, students acquire knowledge without a genuine understanding of the content. The findings reveal a deficiency in constructivism within Grade X Fikih teaching materials, particularly in conceptual areas like asset ownership transfer, usury, banks, and insurance. Procedural content related to Hajj and Umrah, Qurban, and Akikah is already standardized. This gap may lead to students acquiring knowledge without a thorough understanding. To enhance comprehension, adjustments or additional constructivist elements are essential in the learning process.

Abstract

In the practical implementation of enhancing Quranic memorization in various schools, there are challenges involved in selecting and implementing effective strategies. Some teachers may encounter difficulties in applying suitable strategies for teaching Quranic memorization, evident in students' struggles with memorization. This study aims to explore how tahfidz teachers at Mukhtar Syafa'at Banyuwangi Distinguished Junior High School employ strategies to improve Quranic memorization, identify factors that either support or hinder these strategies, and describe the psychological implications experienced by Quranic memorizers at the school. The research utilized a qualitative approach with a case study design. The key findings are as follows: Firstly, teacher strategies for enhancing students' memorization involve classical approaches such as repetition, deposits, and simultaneous memorization. Monthly activities encompass memorization competitions, participation in events, annual programs like pilgrimage visits and tahfidz graduations, and a holiday initiative where groups memorize one juz in a day. Secondly, hindering factors include economic difficulties, broken families, lack of enthusiasm, a lack of self-motivation, and laziness. Supporting factors comprise age, students' intelligence, talents and interests, self-motivation, the environment, teachers, friends, and rewards. Thirdly, psychological implications for Quranic memorizers involve strict self-preparation and management, the obligation to maintain memorization, comprehension of the memorized recitations, and the responsibility for their implementation.

Muslims must grasp the foundational elements of Islam, making proficiency in Arabic essential. Learning the language is not merely a duty but a vital prerequisite for understanding and fulfilling the obligations outlined in the Quran and Sunnah, emphasizing the significance of studying Sharia. In a scholarly exploration of motives for learning Arabic, 86% to 98% of respondents were motivated by a desire to learn Islam and gain knowledge of Islamic civilization. This study seeks to outline the application of the Arabic language curriculum specifically designed for studying Fiqh and Hadith within the Language Preparation Department at Imam Shafi'i University in Jember. This study employed a qualitative approach to comprehend the overall experience of the research subject. It utilized descriptive linguistic expressions within a specific natural context, employing diverse scientific methods. The results show that teaching Arabic for specific purposes is segmented into two stages: beginner and advanced. Each stage involves distinct materials and instructional hours.
