Abstract

The increasing public interest in unique and creative handicraft products has led to the establishment of Cacylflow, a business that utilizes pipe cleaners as the main material in its production process. As a business that is still in the early stages, Cacylflow faces several problems, including unstable sales, limited human resources, and suboptimal marketing. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The main objective of this study is to design an appropriate business planning strategy in overcoming the problems faced during running the business and to get effective solutions in increasing sales turnover. The analysis was conducted on the internal and external conditions of the business through SWOT analysis and Business Model Canvas (BMC), along with an investment feasibility evaluation using the NPV, PI, and Payback Period methods. The results of this study indicate that the strategies to be implemented are product diversification, expansion of sales to the marketplace, service improvement (greeting board rental & workshop), increasing the workforce and collaborating with women’s organizations (PKK), and strengthening online and offline promotions. In addition, the investment feasibility assessment also shows that the Cacylflow business is feasible.

Abstract

Lean Six Sigma combines the principles of lean manufacturing and six sigma, focusing respectively on minimizing waste and reducing product defects. This study aims to analyze the causes of defects and waste in the T-shirt production process at PT Magnum Attack Indonesia using the DMAIC cycle and to provide improvement recommendations based on the analysis. This applied research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies conducted at the company. The results of the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis indicate the presence of non-value-adding activities, including transportation waste, unnecessary inventory, unnecessary motion, and defects. The process performance measured using a p-chart control map showed that the production process was stable with no significant variations. Identified defects include smeared screen printing, peeling screen printing, and uneven stitching. Improvement recommendations were formulated based on the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) values from the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), which include the implementation of 5S, increased transportation capacity, and a maintenance plan. This study also finds that the implementation of the Lean Six Sigma method significantly improved process cycle efficiency (PCE), increasing it from 22.01% to 34.23%.

Abstract

Administrative services are the crucial stage of hospital services that can shape patients' first impressions of overall service quality, yet they are often hampered by high queue loads in the mornings and fluctuations in counter capacity, leading to waiting times that exceed established standards.. This study aims to assess the optimal performance of the administrative service system at Universitas Brawijaya Hospital. Patient arrival and service time data were collected through observation over six days during peak hours. The analysis was conducted using POM-QM software with a (M/M/C):(FCFS/∞/∞) queue model. The evaluation focuses on queue performance indicators and queue costs as the basis for determining the optimal number of service counters. The results show that operating three service counters represents the optimal baseline based on queue cost efficiency. Although adding a fourth counter significantly reduces waiting time, it is not proportional to the increase in queue costs. Therefore, implementing a dynamic adjustment strategy for the number of open counters is highly recommended to anticipate patient surges and maintain a balance between service time efficiency and cost efficiency

This study aims to identify and analyze appropriate competitive strategies for Tugu Malang, an online media company based in Malang City. Data were collected through questionnaires, document reviews, and interviews with nine informants, including company management and deputy editors-in-chief from three competing firms. The study applies the Meta-SWOT approach, using the Resource-Based View (RBV) to assess internal factors and the PESTEL framework for external factors. The RBV analysis reveals that Tugu Malang possesses twelve key resources and capabilities that are rare, hard to imitate, and well-organized, such as funding sources, organizational culture, workforce skills, customer satisfaction, technology investment, human resource development, quality control, legal compliance, employee retention, marketing media, pricing, and product variety. The PESTEL analysis identifies external opportunities and threats, including local government support, political dynamics, technological innovation, community engagement, economic instability, and shifting legal regulations. Based on the Grand Strategy Matrix, Tugu Malang is positioned in Quadrant I, indicating a strong strategic position. The most suitable strategies include intensive efforts such as market penetration, market development, and product development. These findings offer practical insights for digital media organizations navigating competition in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the creative industry in Indonesia highlights the urgent need for busi-ness development strategies that can help small and medium enterprises remain competi-tive and sustainable. This qualitative study focuses on business development planning for Candyco Handmade Crochet. It identifies three main challenges faced by Candyco: lim-ited marketing strategies, production management causing stock imbalances, and signifi-cant competition from similar businesses offering diverse products at competitive prices. The research analyzes data to propose a comprehensive market development strategy emphasizing innovative marketing through live shopping, efficient production manage-ment, and better brand differentiation. The findings reveal that the strategies increase the opportunities for Candyco to expand market reach, achieve revenue targets, and improve competitiveness in the handmade crochet sector. This study is expected to contribute to business development planning in the creative industry and provide effective standard operating procedures (SOP) for Candyco’s operational activities. Moreover, the results can serve as a practical reference for other creative SMEs seeking to strengthen market posi-tioning and achieve sustainable growth.
