Abstract

Global challenges are increasing as the prevalence of dementia increases. Dementia is considered a multifactorial disease. Dementia is a general term used to describe a range of symptoms that affect memory, thinking and the ability to perform daily activities. Alzheimer's is one of the most common types of dementia, accounting for 75% of all dementia cases. The method used in this article review is the contrast method. The contrast method is a journal/article review method by looking for differences between several research journals and then drawing conclusions. The results showed that alzheimer's is a growing health problem worldwide. The disease burdens the individual as well as the patient's family, which negatively affects the quality of life related to memory and cognitive function. Memory decline or dementia is most common in older people, caused by Alzheimer's disease. . The study concluded that vitamin D supplementation has the potential to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's in elderly patients. Vitamin D is known to play an important role in brain development and function, as well as cognition. Several studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency may increase the risk of cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's, while vitamin D supplementation may improve cognitive function and reduce beta-amyloid accumulation in the brain. However, the results are mixed and limitations remain, so further studies with better designs and larger samples are needed to confirm these findings and understand the underlying biological mechanisms

Abstract

After producing poly orthobromo aniline, FT-IR spectroscopy was used to investigate its structure. We examined the optical and electrical characteristics of poly-o-bromo aniline (o-BrAn) in this work. O-bromoaniline/Ag, an original polymer, has been combined. Several techniques, including FT-IR spectroscopy and UV-visible spectra, have been employed for analyzing the mixer. The nonlinear changes in voltage and current are demonstrated by the I-V characteristics. The conductivity values ranged from o-BrAnp is 5.6×10-8 S/cm , but at o-BrAn/Ag0.25 is 3.1×10-7 S/cm. Since the conductivity value of the material is in the range of semiconductor, it can be used in the field of organic semiconductors.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a leading cause of toddler illness. One contributing factor is parental smoking behavior, which exposes toddlers to secondhand smoke and increases their risk of URTI. Over the past five years, Banten Province reported 194,684 cases of ARI. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between parental smoking behavior and ARI incidence in Banten Province. A cross-sectional design was employed, with a sample of 399 parents of toddlers aged one to five years. Data collection took place from January to April 2022 using a convenience sampling technique and a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using chi-square tests. The results indicated a significant association between parental smoking and ARI incidence in toddlers (p = 0.001). Toddlers with smoking parents were found to be 14.39 times more likely to develop ARI compared to those with non-smoking parents. The study recommends that parents, as primary caregivers, play a crucial role in preventing ARI by refraining from smoking around children, in cars, or within the home.
