Abstract

Liturgical activities are the center of the Church’s faith life and serve as the primary means of fostering the faith of Catholic communities. However, many parish outstation members still require guidance regarding the order of the Eucharistic Celebration, the roles of liturgical ministers, and the enrichment of liturgical music. This community service activity was carried out at St. Christopher Delawau Outstation, Christ the King Gido Parish, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, by the Dian Mandala Choir group. The purpose of this activity was to introduce the proper order of the Eucharistic Celebration, to socialize Latin Ordinarium songs, and to build a spirit of fraternity in faith. The methods used included the Eucharistic Celebration, liturgical practice, choir training, demonstrations of liturgical duties, and fraternal interaction. The results of the activity indicated improved understanding among the faithful regarding the Eucharistic Celebration, enhanced skills in liturgical ministries (conductor, lector, psalmist, homilist), and the development of emotional closeness as fellow believers. This community service demonstrates that practice-based and dialogical approaches have a positive impact on strengthening the quality of liturgy among outstation communities.

The findings of this study indicate that professional teachers who understand the essence of learning creativity have the strategic capacity to innovate a dynamic and inspiring learning environment through the implementation of their integrative roles as educators, teachers, mentors, creativity motivators, and counselors. The implementation of this role has been proven to foster a creative learning climate, as seen in increased active participation, courage to present ideas, frequency of questions, and willingness to take intellectual risks among students. The implication is that the integrative role of teachers is key to stimulating creativity and academic achievement. Therefore, to optimize and maintain these achievements, continuous professional development is needed to transform this positive dynamic into a culture of sustainable learning quality in the school environment.

Abstract

Jesus’ declaration “I am the gate” in John 10:7-9 is a rich theological metaphor that holds significant meaning for both Christological reflection and contemporary pastoral ministry. This article aims to examine the meaning of this statement through a biblical exegetical approach and pastoral theology. The research employs a qualitative method based on literary analysis, including a study of the Greek text and a contextual reading of the Gospel of John. The findings indicate that the metaphor of the “gate” emphasizes Jesus’ identity as the sole way to salvation and as the source of abundant life for believers. Moreover, this image highlights Christ’s pastoral function in granting access to a living relationship between God and humanity while providing protection and guidance for His flock. The pastoral implications of this text invite church ministers to imitate Christ as the gate by fostering openness, offering spiritual security, and promoting a liberating form of pastoral care. Thus, John 10:7–9 not only conveys profound theological insights but also offers a relevant pastoral paradigm for the Church’s mission in the contemporary context.

Abstract

Catholic marriage in Indonesia occupies a unique legal position because it is governed simultaneously by state law and canon law. Indonesian positive law recognizes marriage based on religious law and regulates its civil consequences, including divorce. However, Catholic canon law does not recognize divorce as the dissolution a valid and sacramental marriage. This dual legal framework has led widespread misunderstandings among Catholic faithful and legal practitioners, particularly regarding the legal consequences of civil divorce. This study aims to analyze the legal status of Catholic marriage within Indonesia’s dual legal system and examine the juridical implications of civil divorce Catholic marital status under canon law. This research employs normative legal research using statutory, conceptual, and comparative normative approaches. The findings demonstrate that civil divorce functions solely as the termination of civil legal relations under state law and does not dissolve the marital bond according to canon law. The study further reveals that prevailing misconceptions stem from reductive understanding Catholic marriage merely an administrative legal event. This article contributes to legal scholarship by clarifying the normative boundaries between state law and canon law and emphasizes the need for comprehensive legal understanding to prevent recurring juridical misunderstandings in Catholic marriage practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to explore a dialogical reflection on the values of wisdom and leadership between the Bugis local wisdom of Salipuri Temmadinging and the biblical wisdom tradition found in Proverbs 29:14. The study is motivated by the growing leadership crisis in contemporary society, which calls for ethical reflections rooted not only in modern theories but also in local and religious traditions rich in moral insight. Employing a qualitative approach with a literature-based method, this research conducts a critical and comparative analysis of cultural texts on Salipuri Temmadinging and biblical interpretations of Proverbs 29:14. The findings reveal that both traditions emphasize social justice, moral integrity, and advocacy for the poor as essential foundations of stable and legitimate leadership. Leadership is understood not as an instrument of power, but as a moral responsibility to protect, nurture, and sustain communal life. The dialogue between these traditions highlights justice as a structural principle that ensures the durability and credibility of leadership. This study implies that integrating local wisdom and biblical wisdom literature can contribute significantly to the development of ethical and contextual leadership models within Indonesia’s pluralistic society.

Abstract

Catholic moral teachings are not merely ethical codes, principles, rules, or prohibitions to prevent humans from falling into sin. Catholic morality has a solid foundation that originates from the Word of God. The problem to be explored in this study is the phenomenon of ignorance among believers who assume that morality as a rule taught by the Church only restricts the freedom of believers. The purpose of this study is to present the foundation of Catholic moral teachings so that believers know and are able to understand and implement them with the right and appropriate attitude. Thus, believers have a correct understanding. The method used is a literature study. The results of this study explain that Catholic morality is a response to the aspirations of the human heart for truth and goodness. Thus, this study offers clear and precise guidelines for when implemented to achieve the common good and welfare, namely bonum commune. Catholic morality is not an oppressive principle, but a practical guide to a good life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how faith rooted in the family has implications for children's character education. The family is the first and foremost environment in human life, where children begin to learn about life values, including faith, morals, and responsibility. In Christian families, parents play a crucial role in instilling and fostering faith through living examples, praying together, and participating in Church life. This study employed a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The analysis was conducted by reviewing various scientific sources and Church documents relevant to the research theme, such as Familiaris Consortio and Amoris Laetitia, which emphasize the role of the family as a "domestic Church." The documents of the Second Vatican Council, as well as relevant journals and books, were also used. The results of the study indicate that faith that lives and grows within the family has a significant influence on the formation of children's character. The values of faith taught within the family, such as love, honesty, responsibility, and concern for others, form an important foundation for developing good character. Through consistent faith education within the family, children can grow into individuals with faith, morals, and the ability to live responsibly in society.
