Abstract

In the digital era, social media has become a tool with many advantages in supporting da'wah activities. These include the ability to reach a wide audience, direct interaction, and the speed of message dissemination. However, there are also obstacles to overcome, such as the rapid flow of content uploaded at any given time, the potential for the spread of false or misleading information, and differences in perception and interpretation of da'wah messages among diverse da'wah partners. Many cases arise from the communication style of some preachers on social media, which can sometimes be rude, offensive, or display excessive lifestyles. The main focus of this article is to formulate da'wah strategies that are appropriate to the dynamics of the digital era. The findings indicate that contemporary da'wah strategies utilize various digital tools such as social media, podcasts, YouTube, blogs, da'wah apps, and cross-platform strategies. The process involves a series of structured steps including audience analysis, platform selection, content production, message distribution, and regular evaluation to ensure message delivery remains relevant, broad, and sustainable. The implementation of da'wah needs to use a creative and interactive approach so that it can reach a wider target to all audiences, especially the millennial generation Z group. Short visual-based content, supported by technology, has proven effective in attracting attention and strengthening religious messages.

Abstract

Regional legislative bodies (DPRD) play a strategic yet underexamined role in ensuring welfare-oriented policies genuinely benefit the public. This study analyzes the representation of Bengkulu Provincial DPRD members in supporting the "Bantu Rakyat" policy, addressing a gap in existing literature that examines DPRD functions generically without linking them to specific pro-people programs at the provincial level. Employing Hanna Pitkin's (1967) Theory of Representation encompassing formalistic, descriptive, symbolic, and substantive dimensions as its analytical framework, this study uses a qualitative library research method supplemented by purposive in-depth interviews with members of Commission I of the Bengkulu Provincial DPRD. Findings reveal that all four representational dimensions are present, though with varying effectiveness. Formalistic representation is evident in active APBD deliberation and policy approval; descriptive representation emerges through members' diverse socioeconomic backgrounds enabling articulation of constituents' needs; symbolic representation appears in public communications that strengthen public trust. Most critically, substantive representation the highest indicator of representational quality is reflected in supervisory activities including field visits, evaluation sessions, and recommendations to improve benefit distribution transparency, though constrained by limited inter-agency coordination and institutional capacity. This study contributes theoretically by applying Pitkin's framework to a provincial legislative context in Indonesia, and practically by providing a diagnostic basis for strengthening the DPRD's substantive role in welfare policy delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics and trends of political communication research in the information technology landscape through a bibliometric approach. Data were obtained from the Scopus database with selection criteria consisting of journal articles and proceedings published between 2016 and 2026 using Publish or Perish 8. The analysis process was carried out through the stages of data collection, filtering based on relevance, and mapping and visualization using VOSviewer software. The analysis focused on publication patterns, author collaborations, and the development of emerging research themes. The results show that political communication studies have experienced significant developments along with the rapid transformation of information technology, particularly related to social media, disinformation, and digital political participation. The bibliometric map indicates the existence of main clusters reflecting the research focus on issues of digital democracy, platform-based political campaigns, and the influence of algorithms on public opinion. Furthermore, recent trends point to the integration of technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence in political communication analysis. These findings contribute to identifying future research directions and open up opportunities for developing more interdisciplinary and contextual studies. This research contributes to identifying future research directions that are more technology-based.

Abstract

This study explores the role of communication media within the prophetic paradigm as a sociological model for Public Relations (PR) in addressing contemporary social communication problems. Departing from the premise that media is not merely a channel of message delivery but an institution that shapes social realities, this research analyzes how mediatization, commercialization, and sensational framing contribute to the fragmentation of social cohesion. The paper employs a sociological communication framework combined with prophetic values humanization, liberation, and transcendence as formulated by Kuntowijoyo, to offer an ethical corrective to media distortion and distrust. Drawing on Qur’anic principles such as al-Hamāsah, ad-Da’wu Bih, and tabayyun, the study argues that prophetic communication provides a moral and operational model capable of restoring social harmony. The research reveals that media and PR practices rooted in empathy, ethical verification, anti-sensational framing, and public-oriented narratives can reduce polarization, strengthen social trust, and protect communities from digital misinformation. This work proposes the Prophetic Public Relations Model as an alternative framework for reclaiming social harmony by positioning media as a moral mediator, cultural integrator, and guardian of public ethics. Ultimately, this study highlights the transformative potential of prophetic communication in shaping a more ethical, inclusive, and socially cohesive media environment.

Abstract

Strengthening entrepreneurship education is an important response to global economic disruption and the challenges of the demographic bonus. In the context of Islamic boarding schools, various studies have examined managerial strategies and business unit development, but there are still limited studies that conceptually and empirically explain how the leadership of Kyai shapes the entrepreneurial identity of students, especially in free Islamic boarding schools with limited financial resources. This study aims to analyze the concept, process, and impact of the paternalistic-technocratic leadership of Kyai in developing the entrepreneurial spirit of students at the Al-Amin People's Islamic Boarding School in Sumberpucung, Malang. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with triangulation techniques to ensure credibility. The results show that the leadership of Kyai at the Al-Amin People's Islamic Boarding School is integrative between spiritual values, paternalistic relationships, and technocratic capabilities in managing the Islamic boarding school's economic system. The process of fostering entrepreneurship takes place through role models, active participation, experiential learning, and delegation of responsibilities. The impact is the formation of the entrepreneurial character of students which includes independence, creativity, and work ethic, as well as the creation of economic independence of Islamic boarding schools. This research produces a conceptual model of the SIPEA Leadership (Spiritual-Integrative, Participatory, and Entrepreneurial Adaptive Leadership) model, a model of Kyai leadership that integrates spiritual values, paternalistic role models, participatory empowerment, and the development of entrepreneurial character in students within a free Islamic boarding school system. These findings contribute to the development of Islamic educational leadership theory and the practice of Islamic boarding school-based economic empowerment.

Abstract

This research, using empirical data from Bengkulu Province, revisits the implementation of deradicalization policies in Indonesia by creating an integrated governance model based on the dynamics of reintegration of former terrorist convicts. This study discusses the ongoing fragmentation in deradicalization programs, where socio-economic reintegration, psychosocial rehabilitation, and ideological disengagement are still poorly coordinated across various institutions. Data were collected from 30 informants representing government agencies, academics, civil society, media, corporate actors, and former terrorist convicts using a qualitative descriptive design and an interactive analytical approach from Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014). The findings demonstrate that the effectiveness of deradicalization is shaped by three interdependent dimensions: (1) cognitive transformation through educational interventions, (2) psychosocial recovery through rehabilitation processes, and (3) structural reintegration through social inclusion and economic empowerment. However, significant implementation gaps persist, particularly in inter-agency coordination, sustainability of economic support, and the persistence of social stigma toward former offenders. The results of this study offer the Integrated Penta-helix Deradicalization Governance Model (IPDGM), a unique theoretical framework that combines social identity theory, collaborative governance theory, and policy implementation theory. By shifting the focus of analysis from state-centered methods to multi-actor governance, this model improves the literature and provides policymakers in Indonesia with a more flexible and comprehensive framework for implementing deradicalization policies.
