Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative study is to identify how the implementation of the Paris Agreement has been carried out by Indonesia in the period 2020-2024 through the Directorate General of Climate Change Control under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as Indonesia's national focal point for the UNFCCC seen through the perspective of the concept of global governance. The concept has components in the form of structural involvement from the national and subnational scope and deliberation which will produce two other components in the form of substantive and behavioral results from multistakeholder. Indonesia, in the context of implementing the Paris Agreement, needs to carry out the components contained in the concept of global governance to become a good governance. Until 2024, stakeholders in the implementation of the Paris Agreement from the national, subnational, to the community have shown behavioral changes as a result of the substantive results that have been issued by state actors involved in deliberation. At the local level, there are Masyarakat Peduli Api groups that are tasked with the prevention and management of forest and land fires. In addition, there is ProKlim which has a village-level scope managed by the Regional Government to increase community participation with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the region. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with document study as a data collection technique.

Abstract

Surabaya as a city that has won the main ranking of Child Friendly City for six consecutive times and received the highest points, continues to innovate programs that uphold the fulfillment of children's rights, especially children with disabilities who still need more attention to get their social welfare. The Surabaya City Government has inaugurated the “Rumah Anak Prestasi” program which was established in 2022 as to fulfill the rights of children with disabilities in Law Number 8 of 2016 and make Surabaya a complete Child-Friendly City. Rumah Anak Prestasi provide health services and skills training that can be followed free of charge for children with disabilities in Surabaya City. This research method is descriptive qualitative with a focus on analyzing the effectiveness of the Rumah Anak Prestasi program for children with disabilities in Surabaya City, referring to Budiani's (2007) Program Effectiveness theory which includes target accuracy, socialization, objectives, and program monitoring. The data collection technique of this research is through interviews, observation, and documentation. Rumah Anak Prestasi is an effective program for children with disabilities in that the objectives can be achieved and program monitoring is done well. However, the obstacles faced are the socialization of program information dissemination and parents' lack of understanding so that the accuracy of program targets has not covered all children with disabilities. Evaluation of the UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri of Surabaya City is needed regarding the improvement of program socialization so that it can attract all children with disabilities in Surabaya.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening interreligious tolerance in Indonesia’s multicultural society, with a focus on Bucu Village, located in Kembang Sub-district, Jepara Regency, which is known for its ability to maintain harmony between Muslim and Christian communities. The aim of this study is to examine how the youth in the village implement and internalize the values of tolerance, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of these efforts. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders, youth, and community members, as well as documentation. The findings reveal that tolerance in Bucu Village has become institutionalized in the residents’ daily lives, especially among the younger generation. The implementation of tolerance is reflected in the unity displayed during village activities, mutual respect for interfaith worship practices, and the organization of inclusive communal events. These values have been internalized from an early age through family upbringing and social environments. The main supporting factors include collective awareness, the role of community leaders, fair village leadership, and routine social interactions involving all groups. Challenges include persistent social stereotypes, feelings of marginalization among minority groups, and the influence of intolerant ideologies through social media. Solutions are pursued through strengthening interfaith communication, digital education, and the development of inclusive social activities. Thus, the youth of Bucu Village have become key agents of tolerance and symbols of harmony in a diverse society.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of the routine recitation of Asmaul Husna on the development of emotional intelligence in early childhood students at TK Janneta. The recitation of Asmaul Husna is considered a form of spiritual habituation that is believed to support children's ability to recognize, understand, and manage their emotions. A quantitative approach was employed, using simple linear regression analysis to examine the data. The participants consisted of Group B students at TK Janneta who regularly engaged in the Asmaul Husna recitation activities conducted at school. The findings revealed a significant positive effect of the routine recitation on emotional intelligence, contributing 22.4% to the variance in emotional intelligence levels. These results suggest that incorporating spiritual practices such as the recitation of Asmaul Husna can play a meaningful role in enhancing children's emotional development, particularly in their capacity to identify, comprehend, and regulate emotions effectively.

Abstract

Character education plays a crucial role in shaping the moral and ethical foundation of the nation's youth. Children residing in coastal areas face complex social and economic challenges, such as limited access to education and negative influences from their surrounding social environment. These educational deficiencies potentially lead to suboptimal cognitive development in coping with various life burdens and pressures in adulthood. Generally, the development of education in several regions of Indonesia has yet to meet the expected quality standards. This study aims to identify the inhibiting factors in the educational process and to explore the character values taught within families, schools, and coastal communities. The research employs a phenomenological approach, enabling an in-depth understanding of the experiences and perceptions of the local community regarding character education. This method facilitates active involvement of parents and teachers as primary agents in character development. Moreover, the local cultural values embedded within coastal societies serve as a strategic foundation to support the implementation of more effective educational programs tailored to the intellectual needs of children in these areas.

Abstract

The phenomenon of student brawls is a complex social issue that continues to occur across various regions in Indonesia, including in the city of Bogor, indicating that violence among adolescents remains a serious concern. One contributing factor to these conflicts is the use of school identity symbols, such as batik uniforms. Although batik uniforms are designed to represent cultural heritage and institutional identity, in practice, they are often interpreted by students as symbols of prestige and superiority. This study aims to answer the question, Why can school batik uniforms trigger student brawls. The research adopts a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with high school students from several schools in Bogor. The findings reveal that differences in batik designs particularly batik uniforms passed down from upperclassmen or alumni carry strong symbolic value in shaping group identity. When batik is used as a means of asserting dominance or becomes the object of ridicule (e.g., being taken or mocked by students from other schools), students tend to respond emotionally, which often escalates into physical conflict. Moreover, the collective tradition of “batikan,” in which students wear batik every Thursday, reinforces a strong sense of ownership and attachment to these symbols. Thus, while school batik uniforms were originally intended to promote cultural appreciation and unity, they can shift in meaning and function, becoming triggers for social conflict among students. Therefore, an educational and collaborative approach between schools is needed to foster a shared understanding that identity symbols should not divide, but rather unite.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of social capital in disability service management in higher education using Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical framework. Inclusive services for students with disabilities continue to face challenges, such as inadequate infrastructure, rigid curricula, and limited support from academic staff. Employing a qualitative approach through a literature review of ten relevant studies, this research reveals that social capital, through relational networks, peer support, and institutional policies, plays a crucial role in enhancing access to resources, academic assistance, and social integration for students with disabilities. The findings also show that social, cultural, and symbolic capital interaction can strengthen or weaken inclusive service practices. This study contributes theoretically by contextualizing social capital theory within inclusive higher education. It offers strategic recommendations for universities to improve policy frameworks, develop supportive infrastructure, and optimize social support systems for students with disabilities.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the extent of optimizing the taklim council in providing training and learning to the congregation and the implementation of Islamic parenting in preventing promiscuity in Sorong district. This study uses qualitative research that is descriptive so that data will be presented based on the results of interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies to obtain clear data. In addition, this research method also uses a qualitative approach with case studies, where the researcher will investigate in detail and in depth how the Taklim Council functions as a means to convey the principles of Islamic parenting and how it affects the behavior and social interaction of adolescents in overcoming promiscuity. The results of this study show that: (1) The implementation of activities in the taklim council runs optimally in improving literacy in reading the Qur'an and instilling religious values for the congregation who participate in the activities of the Muslim taklim council. However, the implementation of training, especially the provision of materials related to parenting or Islamic parenting, is not optimal, so it must be considered again and improved again the provision of tausiyah or lectures related to childcare in Islam. (2) The implementation of Islamic parenting has been carried out by the congregation based on the knowledge and awareness of the congregation in order to form the character of children based on sharia and Islamic values. (3) Cases of promiscuity that befell children are still found in the midst of the congregation of the taklim council even though only one or two children are involved. And the incident cannot be blamed on one party alone. However, there needs to be reflection and improvement both for the child concerned, his parents, and also the taklim council in the village.
