Abstract

Kotabumi Sub-district serves as the administrative center and main activity hub of North Lampung Regency and has functionally exhibited characteristics of an urban area. However, this development needs to be supported by adequate readiness of facilities and infrastructure to ensure that the transformation toward an urban area can proceed optimally and sustainably. Differences in perceptions between the community and the government regarding the condition of facilities and infrastructure are important to examine as a basis for formulating appropriate development strategies. This study aims to analyze stakeholder perceptions regarding the readiness of facilities and infrastructure in Kotabumi Sub-district to become an urban area, to identify gaps between existing conditions and ideal conditions based on the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for Urban Residential Environment Planning and the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) of North Lampung Regency, and to formulate suitable area development strategies. The research employed a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative data were obtained through Likert-scale questionnaires capturing community and government perceptions and were analyzed using descriptive analysis and gap analysis. Stakeholder interviews were conducted to strengthen the formulated strategies. In addition, a precedent study of district-level urban areas was used as a reference in developing the strategies. The results indicate that the readiness of facilities and infrastructure in Kotabumi Sub-district falls within the category of ready toward optimal. Government, education, health, and trade and service facilities are considered to function relatively well; however, gaps remain in terms of service quality and equitable distribution. Meanwhile, cultural and recreational facilities, green open spaces, and environmental infrastructure such as sanitation, solid waste management, and drainage show relatively lower levels of readiness and are therefore prioritized for development. The study concludes that Kotabumi Sub-district has the potential and basic readiness to be developed as an urban area; however, improvements in the quality, equity, and integration of facilities and infrastructure are required through integrated planning, synergy among stakeholders, and spatial use control to meet urban area standards optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Leuit is a traditional Sundanese rice barn that plays a crucial role in maintaining local food security while preserving cultural values. This study aims to analyze the role of leuit in Nyompok Village, Suwakan, Lebak Regency, in supporting sustainable food self-sufficiency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that leuit functions not only as a storage facility to secure rice during famine, natural disasters, or crop failure, but also as a symbol of social solidarity, local wisdom, and community food sovereignty. This tradition reflects the community’s strong attachment to agrarian practices inherited from their ancestors, where rice is regarded as a symbol of life and prosperity. Moreover, leuit is capable of preserving rice quality over long periods due to its eco-friendly traditional construction. However, modernization and the younger generation’s reliance on market-based systems have gradually diminished its role. Therefore, preserving leuit should be considered as an integrative strategy that ensures food security while maintaining the social, cultural, and spiritual values of the community.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of equality of partners in marriage according to the views of Wahbah az-Zuhaili through the interpretation of the QS. An-Nur verse 26 in his tafsir al-Munīr. This verse emphasizes the reciprocal relationship between the moral qualities of an individual and his life partner, that "a good woman is for a good man, and a good man is for a good woman", which is substantially understood by az-Zuhaili as the principle of moral harmony and equality in human values between husband and wife. This study aims to analyze how az-Zuhaili interprets equality not only as moral equality, but also as the basis for household harmony from a sharia perspective. The research method used is literature study by examining in depth the tafsir of al-Munīr, the works of az-Zuhaili fiqh, as well as relevant literature regarding family ethics in Islam. The results of the analysis show that Wahbah az-Zuhaili understands this verse as an affirmation that ideal marriage is based on moral compatibility, purity of behavior, and equality of dignity between partners. According to him, equality does not mean eliminating the roles of each party, but rather positioning husband and wife as two individuals who complement each other in goodness, responsibility, and mutual respect. This verse is also understood as a critique of cultures that demean women or make them objects of moral stigma. Thus, az-Zuhaili's thinking, through an analysis of Surah An-Nur verse 26, provides the perspective that spousal equality in Islam is rooted in the principles of noble morals and a balance of rights and obligations, which are the foundation for building a harmonious family and an ethical society.

Abstract

Learning media are an essential strategy in modern education due to their role in enhancing student engagement and learning motivation, including in Islamic Religious Education (IRE). Numerous studies indicate that the use of audiovisual and interactive media can increase students’ learning motivation. However, in practice, IRE instruction in several junior high schools is still dominated by printed materials and lecture-based methods, which contributes to low student motivation. This condition was also found at SMP Al Hidayah Medan Tembung and is influenced by limited facilities and inadequate technological skills among some teachers. This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers’ use of learning media and students’ learning motivation in IRE for eighth-grade students at SMP Al Hidayah Medan Tembung. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires measuring learning media as the independent variable and students’ learning motivation as the dependent variable. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, while data analysis was conducted using SPSS through Pearson correlation and simple linear regression tests. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between teachers’ use of learning media and students’ motivation in IRE learning. The more varied and effective the learning media used, the higher the students’ learning motivation. These findings emphasize the importance of learning media as a supporting factor in enhancing students’ motivation in Islamic Religious Education at the junior high school level.

Abstract

The growing influence of globalization and digitalization has intensified moral and religious challenges in elementary education, requiring schools to adopt more systematic approaches to character formation . In Indonesia, the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) has been introduced as a national framework to strengthen students’ character, particularly religious values, within the Merdeka Curriculum . However, existing studies indicate that character education initiatives often remain symbolic when they are not supported by effective school management. This study examines how educational management practices shape the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile in strengthening students’ religious character in a public elementary school. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, and students (50%). The findings reveal that coherent planning, clear organizational structures, consistent implementation through daily routines and project-based learning, and reflective evaluation play a critical role in facilitating the internalization of religious character. Leadership commitment, teacher exemplarity, and parental involvement further support program sustainability. The study concludes that strengthening religious character through the Pancasila Student Profile is not merely a curricular effort but an organizational achievement shaped by school management practices. These findings contribute to educational management and character education literature by demonstrating how national character policy can be operationalized effectively at the school level.

Abstract

Along with the rapid development of Islamic banks in Indonesia, corporate responsibility has become greater towards social life. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the characteristics of the Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB) in increasing the disclosure of social responsibility of Islamic banking in Indonesia using the Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) index for the period 2015-2022. The SSB characteristics tested in this study are size, frequency of meetings, dual positions, expertise, age, and proportion of women. This study uses a quantitative method with a sample of the entire population of this study, namely all Indonesian Islamic Commercial Banks (ICB) registered with the OJK during the 2015-2022 period, namely 16 ICB. This research was then tested using the STATA 17 application with panel data regression analysis. Based on the research results, the selected model estimate is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). This study also uses a robustness test so that the results show valid data and are free from heteroscedasticity symptoms. The results of hypothesis testing show that simultaneously all SSB characteristics in this study have a significant effect on ISR disclosure. Meanwhile, partially, the size, dual positions, and proportion of women in SSB have a significant effect on ISR disclosure with SSB size having a negative direction of influence. While the frequency of meetings, expertise, and age of SSB have no partial influence on ISR disclosure. This study contributes to BUS in Indonesia and DSN-MUI in terms of decision making regarding the characteristics of SSB that are appropriate for the placement of SSB in Indonesian Islamic banks and can enrich the literature on Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and Islamic Social Reporting (ISR).

Abstract

This article presents a conceptual synthesis of three leadership models—transformational, spiritual, and distributive—within the framework of tauhid as an Islamic leadership approach relevant to 21st-century education. Tauhid is positioned as an epistemological foundation that guides leadership practices toward prophetic vision, transcendental awareness, and collective participation. Through a systematic literature review, this study demonstrates that integrating these models effectively addresses the challenges of digitalization, religious moderation, and character development among Muslim Generation Z. The synthesis not only strengthens the philosophical basis of Islamic educational leadership but also offers practical implications for curriculum design, leadership training, and institutional management grounded in tauhid values.

Abstract

This study aims to deconstruct the epistemology of zakat which has been dominated by the Bayani (textual) approach, causing zakat management to be trapped in ritual dimensions and lacking responsiveness to structural poverty. Using Muhammad Abed Al-Jabiri’s Critique of Arab Reason, this study attempts to offer a Burhani (rational-demonstrative) approach to understanding zakat. The research method used is qualitative with a library research type. The results show that the dominance of Bayani reason in zakat fiqh has resulted in a rigid understanding of asnaf and zakat objects. Through Al-Jabiri’s analysis, zakat needs to be shifted towards Burhani reasoning which emphasizes causality and social benefit (maslahah). The deconstruction of zakat epistemology implies that zakat must be understood not only as a dogmatic obligation but as an economic instrument capable of answering the challenges of the times through measurable productivity. This study concludes that the integration of Burhani reason is necessary to transform zakat from theological normativity to sociological functionality.
