Abstract

This study aimed to adapt and evaluate the Indonesian version of the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ). The adaptation process involved a double-translation procedure, expert review, readability testing, and content validity analysis using Aiken’s V, which resulted in ten final items. Psychometric evaluation was conducted through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using samples from Indonesia. The EFA results indicated a clear two-factor structure, with item loadings ranging from 0.45 to 0.90. The CFA confirmed the two-factor model, demonstrating good model fit indices (CFI = 0.96, TLI = 0.946, RMSEA = 0.063, SRMR = 0.049). Internal consistency was considered adequate, with Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega values of 0.83 for reappraisal and 0.77 and 0.78 for suppression, respectively. All items showed corrected item–total correlations above 0.30, indicating good item discrimination. These findings suggest that the Indonesian version of the ERQ exhibits a stable factor structure, strong construct validity, and satisfactory reliability as a measure of emotion regulation strategies. Further research is required to examine measurement invariance, temporal stability, as well as convergent and predictive validity across diverse population groups.

Abstract

Competence in reading the Qur’an is a foundational aspect of the credibility and professionalism of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. However, understanding the actual level of competence, the challenges faced, and the need for professional development among PAI teachers who graduated from Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) requires further in-depth investigation to design effective and sustainable development programs. This study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data were collected through focus group discussion (FGD) interviews with leaders and lecturers of Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) in the Jakarta–Banten region, as well as online questionnaires administered to 21 Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers who are alumni of various PTKI. The instrument assessed Qur’an reading competence (covering aspects of makhraj, ṣifāt al-ḥurūf, tajwīd, and fluency), practice frequency, challenges, and their needs for further training. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to map current conditions and emerging trends. The findings reveal that although most teachers read the Qur’an daily and assess their competence at a moderate to good level, they face key challenges such as limited time (42.9%), limited access to qualified mentors (19%), and low self-motivation (9.5%). All respondents (100%) expressed a need for further training, with 81% indicating a strong need. Regarding preferred training models, periodic intensive workshops (23.8%) and blended learning approaches (42.9%) were the most favored, supported by digital features such as AI-based practice tools (19%) and interactive video tutorials (38.1%). These findings imply that PTKI, as the alumni’s parent institution, should develop strategic, technology-based, and community-oriented continuous training programs to enhance the quality of PAI teachers.

Abstract

This article discusses the interpretation of Qur'anic verses about food and energy with a focus on carbohydrates from the perspective of Tafsir Ilmi of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. The verses analyzed include Q.S. al-An'ām [6]: 95, Q.S. al-Mu'minūn [23]: 19, Q.S. Maryam [19]: 25, and Q.S. an-Naḥl [16]: 68–69, which allude to grains, fruits, dates, and honey as the source of human life. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach and descriptive-analytical analysis of the Scientific Interpretation of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, by comparing it in a limited way with classical and modern interpretations. The results of the study show that the Tafsir Ilmi of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia understands these verses by relating them to the findings of modern nutrition science, especially the function of carbohydrates as the main source of energy for the human body. Grains are understood as a source of complex carbohydrates, while dates, grapes, and honey are categorized as simple sources of carbohydrates that are easily digestible and quickly absorbed. The Scientific Interpretation does not make the Qur'an the basis for the formation of biochemical theories, but rather places science as a tool to affirm the function of food in the order of Allah's creation. Thus, the interpretation of Ilmi acts as a conceptual bridge between revelation and modern nutritional science, as well as showing methodological prudence in the integration of the Qur'an and science

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of anti-corruption education in enhancing the civic competence of cadet students at the Banten Maritime Polytechnic. Anti-corruption education is considered essential in shaping character, integrity, and professional ethics of cadets as future seafarers and responsible citizens. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review involving Diploma III cadets enrolled in Pancasila Education and Citizenship Education courses. The findings indicate that cadets’ perceptions of anti-corruption education are positive, as reflected in their understanding of values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social awareness. The implementation of anti-corruption education is carried out through curriculum integration and the reinforcement of e-learning on Basic Anti-Corruption Knowledge and Integrity via the KPK platform. Out of 197 cadets, 58% successfully completed the e-learning within a maximum period of one semester. These findings demonstrate an improvement in civic competence, particularly in the knowledge dimension, and support the strengthening of anti-corruption character through learning processes and a sustainable cadet mentoring system that aligns with the demands of national maritime vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe adult attachment styles among wives who experience long distance marriage (LDM) with husbands working as migrant workers. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Participants were selected purposively, consisting of married women who had experienced LDM for at least three months and were in early to middle adulthood. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that secure attachment is the most dominant attachment style among participants. However, anxious attachment emerged situationally in response to communication barriers, physical distance, and relational uncertainty, while avoidant attachment appeared in the lowest proportion. These results suggest that wives in long distance marriages generally possess a relatively secure attachment foundation and demonstrate emotional adaptability in maintaining marital relationships despite physical separation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze how collaborative governance works in flood management in Sumput Village, Gresik Regency. Ansell and Gash's collaboration model (Islamy, 2018) explains that there are four important indicators for the success of a collaboration, namely institutional design that can function as a basic rule in implementing collaboration, and leadership as a mediator and facilitator in collaboration. Collaborative governance in flood management in Sumput Village includes the involvement of other parties in the implementation process. In this study, the data used were through interviews, observations, and documentation that may be analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study explain that the collaboration model in flood management in Sumput Village involves several parties, including the Gresik Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the community, and the private sector. This study also explains that collaboration in flood management in Sumput Village has been running as desired so that the impact of flooding can be reduced, but in terms of implementation it is still not optimal because there are still many problems that need to be addressed such as public awareness and efforts to find the best solution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of caregivers in supporting adolescent development, particularly in reducing feelings of inferiority at Husnul Khotimah Orphanage in Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that caregivers play a central role by providing emotional, motivational, instructional, and instrumental support. This support is manifested through open and empathetic communication, academic guidance, positive reinforcement, and encouragement of adolescents’ participation in social and educational activities. The caregivers’ role helps adolescents feel safe, valued, and accepted, which contributes to increased self-confidence, self-regard, and social and academic abilities. However, caregivers face several challenges, including limited time, insufficient number of caregivers, differences in adolescents’ characteristics, and limited institutional facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to deconstruct the image construction of a Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) legislator in the digital realm, focusing on how narratives of political communication, da'wah missions, and personal branding are interwoven into a unified discourse. Employing a qualitative method with a case study approach reinforced by an in-depth literature review, this research analyzes the content of the Instagram account @endahpurwnti, a member of the Bogor City Council. Data analysis techniques utilize Norman Fairclough's three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model to dissect the dimensions of text, discursive practice, and sociocultural practice. The results indicate the existence of a mutually reinforcing "Discourse Trilogy": (1) Advocacy/Political Discourse, which represents the politician as a solution-oriented "servant of the people" through content regarding constituency visits (reses) and aspiration gathering; (2) Da'wah Discourse, which frames political activity as worship (amar ma’ruf nahi munkar) through the use of religious diction and syar’i visual symbols; and (3) Personal Branding Discourse, which displays a humanist, friendly, and egalitarian side to build emotional proximity. These findings confirm that for PKS politicians, Instagram is not merely a political showcase, but a modern da'wah pulpit that blurs the boundaries between the identities of a politician, a preacher, and a public figure relatable to urban voters. This study contributes to the understanding of identity hybridization strategies in contemporary Islamic political communication in the digital era.

Abstract

This article examines the integration of Islamic values into social policy governance within the multicultural society of Padangsidimpuan City. This research uses a qualitative approach with empirical methods through interviews, observations, and analysis of local policy documents. The results indicate that Islamic values such as justice, welfare, deliberation, and social solidarity have been internalized in the practice of local government social policies, although they have not been explicitly formalized in regulations. The integration of local Islamic values serves as a foundation for social ethics that strengthens policy legitimacy and maintains harmony within a multicultural society. This research confirms that local Islam has a strategic contribution to strengthening social policy at the local level.

Abstract

Religious diversity in Indonesia frequently raises challenges related to freedom of belief and interreligious relations. One Qur’anic verse often cited in this discourse is QS. Al-Baqarah (2):256, which explicitly rejects coercion in matters of faith. However, interpretations of this verse vary, and not all emphasize its relevance for contemporary plural societies. This study aims to analyze the interpretation of QS. Al-Baqarah verse 256 in Tafsir at-Tanwir and to examine its implications for strengthening religious tolerance in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Primary data are derived from Tafsir at-Tanwir, while secondary data include scholarly books and journal articles on Qur’anic interpretation and religious tolerance. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on Tafsir at-Tanwir as a modern Indonesian tafsir that integrates textual analysis with socio-contextual considerations of pluralism. The findings reveal that Tafsir at-Tanwir firmly positions freedom of belief as a theological and ethical principle, asserting that faith cannot be imposed and that religious diversity is part of divine will (sunnatullah). This interpretation provides a normative foundation for inclusive, dialogical, and peaceful interreligious relations. In conclusion, the interpretation of QS. Al-Baqarah 256 in Tafsir at-Tanwir contributes significantly to the discourse on religious moderation and offers a relevant framework for strengthening tolerance in Indonesia’s multicultural society.
