Journal of Islamic Thought and Philosophy is a peer-reviewed journal by the Master of Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy Study Program at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. This journal provides scientific publications for research related to the themes of Islamic thought and philosophy. Taking a broad view of the subject, the journal brings together all the disciplinary perspectives of Islamic scholarship and philosophy. Abstract

Shadra mendapat julukan yang sangat mengagumkan dalam dunia filsafat Islam. Abdul Kadir Riyadi dalam Arkeologi Tasawufnya, menyatakan Mulla Shadra layak menyandang gelar sebagai guru ketiga dalam tasawuf falsafi setelah Ibn Arabi dan Suhrawardi. Sedangkan menurut M. M. Sharif dalam A History of Muslim Philosophy, memandang sosok Mulla Shadra adalah guru ketiga setelah Ibn Sina dan Suhrawardi.1 Dari nama-nama besar inilah Shadra bisa membuktikan dirinya sebagai tokoh yang perlu diperhitungkan dalam kazanah filsafat Islam. Ibn Sina, Ibn Arabi dan Suhrawardi, melalui ketiga tokoh ini Shadra bisa mengkonstruk nalar filsafatnya. Dalam ranah filsafat Parepatetik yang dibangun dari nalar filsafat Aristotelean, ajaran Ibn Sina (980-1037 M) menjadi pondasi awal Shadra untuk mengkonstruk nalar filsafatnya. Semua persoalan filsafat Shadra berpatokan kepada al-syaikh al-rais, sang guru pertama Ibn Sina. Shadra mengambil pendapat Ibn Sina dalam rangka membentuk nalar filsafat teosofinya secara independen, sebagaimana prioritas wujud dan lemahnya esensi. Tentu Shadra tidak hanya mengambil begitu saja pendapat Ibn Sina, sebagai pemikir yang independen Shadra bersikap objektif dalam mengkritisi dan memodifikasi pandangan Ibn Sina.2 Sebagai filosof yang mandiri Shadra dituntut untuk mengambil sikap secara arif, tidak selalu membebek dengan pendapat Ibn Sina

Abstract

Ibnu Arabi adalah sebagai pelopor tasawuf falsafi yang terkenal dengan pemikirannya yang menyelaraskan antara teks agama dan logika. Wahdatul Wujud dan Insan Kamil adalah salah satu gagasan Ibnu Arabi yang dapat beradaptasi setiap zaman yang datang dan terus menjadi pembahasan yang menarik. Konsep ketuhanan Ibnu Arabi berkisar pada puncak bernama Tajalliyat, Musyahadah, Kasyf dan Wahdah (kesatuan). Konsep-konsep tasawufnya semuanya bersumber dari pengalaman–pengalaman yang ia alami atau dalam bahasa lain Dzauqiyah (bangsa rasa). Selain konsep-konsep itu urusan teologi, ‘ubudiyah, hingga permasalahan-permasalahan kemasyarakatan lainnya dibahas didalam karya-karya Ibnu Arabi berdasar pandangan tasawuf falsafi. Keberbedaan pandangan Ibnu Arabi dari sufi-sufi yang lain menempatkan pada posisi yang sedikit tidak aman, walaupun demikian Ibnu Arabi adalah termasuk orang yang membuat Islam dibaca oleh dunia, selain adanya dukungan dari beberapa pandangan setelahnya.

Abstract

Tulisan ini berusaha menganalisa perjalanan hidup serta eksistensi seorang sufi falsafi, Abu Mansur al-Hallaj. Al-Hallaj adalah sufi agung yang penuh dengan kontroversi semasa hidupnya. Naas perjalanan hidupnya harus berakhir di atas tiang gantungan. Masalah yang menjadi fokus tulisan ini adalah mengungkap siapa sosok al-Hallaj sebenarnya?, dan bagaimana eksistensi al-Hallaj sebagai seorang sufi martir? Analisa dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan filsafat sejarah. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Al-Hallaj adalah sosok sufi mujaddid yang memiliki jasa besar pada perkembangan tasawuf abad ke-3 H; tasawuf falsafi, karena membawa spirit ajaran baru tasawuf yang bertolak pada rasio. Dan dengan sangat terpaksa eksistensi kesufiannya harus terhenti akibat vonis hukuman mati yang berlatarbelakang politis, yang di sisi lain menjadikannya sebagai seorang sufi martir

Abstract

Abstract

Quarter-life crisis is a crisis condition that often attacks teenagers who are entering adulthood. This crisis usually makes young people feel doubtful, helpless, afraid, ignorant, empty, and other emotional disturbances such as panic, depression, confusion, frustration, worry, not knowing the direction of their future such as a mate, career, social relations, and so on. so on. To prevent the impact of the quarter-life crisis from happening to teenagers, one way that needs to be done is to study. In this context, studying previous thoughts is also very helpful in preventing quarter-life crises from happening to young people. In addition to getting methods for solving these problems, we can also add insight into the thoughts of previous people. Therefore, this paper will present the relevance of Taoist philosophy to prevent quarter-life crises. In this paper, the author will describe the history and philosophical thought of Taoism. Then from the ideas of Taoism that have been described, its relevance will be drawn to prevent a quarter-life crisis which consists of thoughts about Yin Yang, water as an analogy that describes the flow of Taoism, and the concept of Wu Wei

Abstract

This study will explain the thoughts of Al-Kindi as a Muslim philosopher figure who harmonizes thoughts between philosophy and the Islamic religion. This discussion about the harmonization between philosophy and religion begins with doubts about what is the characteristic of philosophy that is at odds with religious beliefs. The literature study approach is carried out by examining the topic of the problem in more depth according to the references found. By using this method, the writer will find as much written information as possible from the literature related to the topic of the problem for systematic identification of the theory. After conducting research using the library study method, the results of answers to the topic of the problem were found, namely through references from journals and in order to find the background of Al-Kindi's thoughts regarding the harmonization of the relationship between philosophy and Islam.

Abstract

This study explains Roggowarsito's thoughts about divine philosophy and its relation or influence on the beliefs of the Javanese people or commonly known as kejawen. This study uses the library research method. namely a research that focuses on literary discussions. Sources of data used in this study are primary and secondary sources. After collecting both primary and secondary data sources, the next step is to analyze it using the content analysis method. This method is used to analyze the extent to which the teachings of Raden Ngabehi Ronggowarsito's philosophy of God in his Wirid Hidayat Jati Fiber and its influence on spirituality the sect of Kebatinan (Kejawen). As well as using a philosophical historical-normative research approach, is to analyze Raden Ngabehi Ronggowarsito's thoughts by exploring the biography and activities carried out by Raden Ngabehi Ronggowarsito to find out the background of his thoughts and the philosophical framework he uses related to the teachings of God.

Abstract

Marriage is a legal way of channeling one's human desires in realizing his desires while maintaining the security and safety of his religion and country. In Indonesia, especially in Java, every wedding is almost certainly accompanied by a local customary ceremony/tradition that is still valid. Among those that are still valid and used today, in Java, is the tradition of counting the weton of prospective brides and grooms. This short article will reveal the other side—anthropologically-sociologically—of the counting weton tradition and its relation to marriage which is still rooted in the minds of some Javanese Muslims. Why then does this tradition still exist today, and tend to be accepted by Javanese society in general? The author deliberately does not limit this research to certain locations, because the author's goal in this paper is the tradition of counting the weton itself. And to dissect this tradition, the author uses the Theo-Anthropological paradigm with Talcott Parsons' Functional-structural perspective.

Abstract

Abstract The tasawuf thoughts of Imam al-Ghazali, who is known as a person who is doubtful about everything. Syakk's feelings arose in him from studying theology or theology from al-Juwaini. After al-Ghazali wandered in search of the truth he chose the path of Sufism. According to him, the Sufilah seek the ultimate truth. Not only that, the way of the Sufilah is a combination of knowledge and charity, while the fruit is morality. Among the results are the maqamat that must be passed by a Sufi candidate, including: repentance, patience, asceticism, trust, and makrifat. Which in this journal will contain discussions about al-Ghazali's thoughts and how the influence of al-Ghazali's tasawuf in everyday life. Not only that, al-Ghazali's influence has spread to various regions of the Islamic world to this day.

Abstract

According to Ibn Taimiyah, the Salaf are those who think that there is no way to know aqidah, law, and what is related to them, except by using the Qur'an and Hadith. The Salaf accepted all the information contained in the Qur'an and Hadith. Refusing means letting go of religious ties. Reason has no power to interpret, interpret, or judge the Quran. Reason is only capable of justifying, obeying, and explaining the approach between the arguments of reason (contextual), and the arguments of the Qur'an and Hadith (textual) with no difference between the arguments of reason and the arguments of the Qur'an and Hadith. Reason has a position as a witness, not a judge, as a determinant and reinforcement, not an opponent, as an explanation of the arguments contained in the Qur'an. The Salaf have always put reason behind the Qur'an and Hadith.
