Abstract

Universities are responsible not only for producing academically competent graduates but also for preparing alumni to adapt and compete in the workplace through the development of professional networks. In this context, the alumni unit plays a strategic role as a liaison between alumni, the institution, and the industrial world. This study aims to analyze the role of the alumni unit in building professional networks for alumni, identify obstacles faced, and examine efforts made to overcome these obstacles. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with the Alumni Unit of Bina Darma University as the research object. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation during internships, then analyzed descriptively to obtain an in-depth overview of alumni management. The results show that the Alumni Unit plays a role as a communication liaison between alumni and the university, a provider of career information, and a facilitator in the development of professional networks through alumni database management programs, tracer studies, seminars, webinars, and other alumni activities. The main obstacles faced include low alumni participation, alumni data that is not always up-to-date, and the wide distribution of alumni. This study concludes that the role of the alumni unit has been running well, but digital technology-based program innovation and more adaptive management strategies are needed to increase the effectiveness of the development of the alumni professional network in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the banking industry requires organizations to not only develop technological infrastructure but also improve the competence of human resources (HR) to be able to adapt to changes in digital-based services. Bank Sumsel Babel Arivai Branch faces challenges in the form of differences in the level of technology adaptation among employees and low digital literacy among some customers who still rely on conventional services. This study aims to analyze the role of HR development in optimizing digital services at Bank Sumsel Babel Arivai Branch. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Research informants consisted of management, frontline employees, and related staff involved in the implementation of digital services. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the HR development program carried out through the *on-the-job training* and *off-the-job training* methods successfully improved technical competencies (*hard skills*), behavioral competencies (*soft skills*), and digital adaptability of employees. This competency improvement has an impact on optimizing digital services through increasing education on the use of the BSB Mobile, QRIS, and CRM applications for customers, accelerating the resolution of digital transaction complaints, reducing operational errors, and increasing service effectiveness. However, obstacles remain, including resistance to technology from some senior employees and low digital literacy among certain customers. Therefore, sustainable human resource development is a strategic factor in supporting the success of digital transformation and improving the quality of banking services at Bank Sumsel Babel Arivai Branch.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of strategic planning and asset management on Generation Z's investment interest in Paya Bengkuang Village. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 60 respondents selected through saturated sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that strategic planning has a positive and significant effect on investment interest, with a t-value of 3.167 and a significance level of 0.002 (<0.05). Asset management also has a positive and significant effect on investment interest, with a t-value of 2.328 and a significance level of 0.024 (<0.05). Simultaneously, strategic planning and asset management significantly influence investment interest, as evidenced by an F-value of 7.676 and a significance level of 0.001 (<0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.212 indicates that 21.2% of the variation in investment interest can be explained by strategic planning and asset management, while the remaining 78.8% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. The findings also reveal that strategic planning has a more dominant influence than asset management in increasing Generation Z's investment interest in Paya Bengkuang Village. Therefore, improving strategic planning and asset management capabilities is essential to enhance investment interest among young people.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of doom scrolling and digital advertising on purchase decisions mediated by impulsive buying, and to examine the moderating role of self-control among social media users. A quantitative approach with a survey design was employed. Data were collected using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire (1–5) distributed to 105 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data analysis involved multiple regression, Baron and Kenny mediation testing, and moderated multiple regression (MMR) with interaction terms. Results indicate: (1) doom scrolling positively and significantly affects impulsive buying (β = 0.341; p < 0.001); (2) digital advertising positively and significantly affects impulsive buying (β = 0.284; p < 0.001); (3) impulsive buying positively and significantly affects purchase decisions (β = 0.483; p < 0.001); (4) impulsive buying fully mediates the relationship between doom scrolling and purchase decisions; (5) impulsive buying partially mediates the relationship between digital advertising and purchase decisions; and (6) self-control negatively and significantly moderates the effect of impulsive buying on purchase decisions (B = -0.043; p = 0.026). These findings offer theoretical and managerial implications for digital marketing practitioners and consumers in the social media economy era.

Abstract

This study examines the role of social media in the communication management of non-commercial government policy campaigns using the framework of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure. Non-commercial government policy campaigns are a form of public communication aimed at socializing regulations, programs, or state policies without a profit motive, and are oriented more toward increasing public awareness, participation, and transparency. The growing number of social media users in Indonesia year by year presents both opportunities and challenges for public bodies in managing policy communication effectively. A descriptive qualitative method was applied through library research techniques and document analysis of government policies, regulations, and social media communication practices. The findings show that social media plays a strategic role in strengthening transparency, accelerating information dissemination, and building two-way dialogue between government and society, although its use in practice is still dominated by one-way (push) communication patterns, so that public participation has not yet become fully meaningful. The implementation of the Public Information Disclosure Act through Information and Documentation Management Officers provides the legal framework underlying the management of non-commercial campaigns so that they remain transparent and accountable. This study reinforces the need for an adaptive, collaborative, and data-based digital communication strategy to optimize the role of social media in government policy campaigns, while also strengthening the institutional capacity of those who manage them.
