Abstract

The Camp & Tour activity is not only a recreational program for students, but can also be developed as a medium for community service through social care-based activities. This article aims to describe the implementation of student social concern in the Camp & Tour program of Institut Budi Utomo Nasional (IBUN) Majalengka through a social service activity. The program was conducted at Gunung Laya (GL-20), Argasari Village, Talaga District, Majalengka Regency, with 45 underprivileged households and elderly residents as the main beneficiaries. The activity was implemented using a participatory community service approach through several stages, namely preparation, location survey, coordination with local community leaders, fundraising and logistics preparation, distribution of basic-needs packages, environmental clean-up activities, light educational sessions, observation, and student reflection. The evaluation was conducted descriptively through field observation, documentation of activities, informal community responses, and student reflection after the program. The results show that the integration of social service into the Camp & Tour program can transform outdoor student activities from purely recreational events into meaningful community engagement. The program provided direct material benefits through the distribution of basic-needs packages, encouraged environmental awareness through collective clean-up activities, and strengthened students’ empathy, teamwork, leadership, and sense of social responsibility. In addition, the positive response and participation of local residents indicate that the program helped build institutional relations between the campus and the local community. This activity demonstrates that Camp & Tour can be directed as a practical model of student-based community service that integrates recreation, character building, and social contribution.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). However, the integration of AI into PAI instruction at STAI Sirojul Falah Bogor remains limited, as teaching practices still rely heavily on conventional methods and participants face challenges related to limited learning resources, digital literacy, and interactive instructional design. This community service activity aimed to optimize the use of NotebookLM as a source-based AI tool to support more efficient, accessible, and contextual PAI learning. The activity was implemented through a hybrid online and offline workshop on Friday, April 17, 2026, at STAI Sirojul Falah Bogor, involving PAI lecturers, students, and members of the academic community. The method included material preparation, introduction to AI in education, NotebookLM feature demonstration, guided hands-on practice, AI-assisted PAI learning simulations, discussion, and reflective evaluation. The results showed that participants were able to use NotebookLM to upload PAI learning materials, generate AI-assisted summaries, develop study guide drafts, create source-based quiz questions, and formulate discussion prompts grounded in uploaded sources. The workshop also strengthened participants’ awareness of ethical AI use, particularly in relation to source verification, responsible interpretation of AI outputs, and the need to align AI-generated materials with Islamic educational values. These findings indicate that NotebookLM can support PAI learning by helping lecturers and students transform religious education materials into more structured, interactive, and source-based learning resources. This activity contributes to strengthening digital literacy and provides a practical model for integrating AI tools ethically and contextually within Islamic higher education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has reshaped professional education and training, requiring trainers, lecturers, and teachers to develop practical digital competencies for instructional innovation. This community service activity aimed to optimize the use of NotebookLM among members of the National Association of HRD Trainers by strengthening participants’ ability to apply AI tools for source-based learning, material development, and professional training design. The activity was conducted as a half-day participatory workshop on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Hotel Sofyan Cut Meutia, Central Jakarta. The workshop involved members of the National Association of HRD Trainers with professional backgrounds in training, education, and human resource development. The implementation combined theoretical framing, live demonstrations, guided practice, scenario-based simulations, and reflective evaluation. The results showed that participants were able to operate NotebookLM’s core features, including uploading learning sources, generating summaries, preparing study guides, developing quizzes, creating discussion prompts, and conducting source-grounded question-and-answer activities. The workshop also produced practical outputs in the form of AI-assisted summaries, training guides, quiz drafts, and learning prompts that could be adapted for professional training contexts. Participants demonstrated improved confidence in using NotebookLM and showed greater awareness of ethical AI use, source validation, and the importance of human judgment in AI-assisted instructional design. These findings indicate that practice-oriented NotebookLM training can strengthen digital literacy and support more interactive, adaptive, and source-grounded training practices.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence has reshaped higher education and academic writing practices, particularly in supporting students’ ability to manage references and citations more efficiently. However, undergraduate students often experience difficulties in identifying scholarly sources, formatting references, integrating citations into academic drafts, and verifying the accuracy of AI-generated citation outputs. This community engagement activity aimed to strengthen students’ academic literacy through an AI-assisted automated citation workshop using Scite AI and Jenni AI. The workshop was conducted online on Saturday, April 25, 2026, through the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Al Irsyad Cilacap, and involved approximately 50 undergraduate students from the Entrepreneurship and Digital Business Program. The activity was implemented through conceptual explanation, live demonstration, hands-on citation practice, manuscript integration simulation, mentoring, and reflective discussion. The results showed that students were able to practice AI-assisted reference searching, generate citations, format reference lists, and integrate citations into short academic writing drafts. The workshop also encouraged students to verify AI-generated outputs, compare citation formats with academic writing standards, and understand the importance of ethical source use. The main outputs of the activity included AI-assisted reference lists, citation-formatted writing drafts, and student reflection on responsible AI use in academic writing. This activity demonstrates that AI-assisted citation training can support students’ scholarly writing skills when combined with practical exercises, output verification, and academic integrity awareness. Follow-up mentoring and integration of AI citation literacy into research writing courses are recommended to sustain students’ citation competence and responsible use of AI tools.
