Abstract

The dental technician program of Airlangga University teaches and trains aspiring dental technicians. During three years of study, students manufacture dental prostheses such as cobalt chromium coping and acrylic dentures and perform other procedures, such as crown and bridge restoration. However, the use of dental prostheses material might cause respiratory diseases, skin problems, and neurotoxicity. Few respiratory diseases have been reported related to the occupation of dental technician, and epidemiology studies have shown high prevalence of pneumoconiosis linked with exposure duration. Lung function disturbance severity in dental laboratories is affected by some factors, such as the characteristics of workers in such a setting. This study aims to investigate the lung function representation of students of the dental technician program of Airlangga University in relation to student characteristics in the dental laboratory. This study is an observational decriptive study. Data are obtained by using a questionnaire and a literature review, and lung physiological examination is conducted using spirometry. Examination data results are presented in the form of a ratio scale and analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Conclusion: No significant difference in lung function was observed between smokers and non-smokers and between mask-wearers and non-mask-wearers.

Abstract

E-learning (EL) as a supporting tool in learning process has increasingly developed because the implementation of the tool will be helpful for both lecturers and students to be more interactive in delivering materials and to evaluate learning outcomes. Analysis of the user’s behavior was required to measure the success rate of the implementation of e-learning. One of the models used in the present study was Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The model was designed to explain the behavior of the users on the information technology. The main variable was behavioral intention with four elements namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions. Data were collected randomly from the students of vocational education, university of Halu Oleo by distributing questioners to the e- learner users. The data were then validated and analyzed using regression analysis. The results showed EL affected the behavioral intention, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Analysis of Medical Record Service System in Dr. Kariadi. The method used is qualitative method, to know the clear picture about the problems studied. Data collection by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Dr. Kariadi already has written Service Operational Standard on service and Medical Record Management based on Director of Dr. Kariadi. Compliance of the medical officers in this case the doctors in charge is still less due to busy, so there are still not complete the medical record documents, there is still missing or forgotten in the filling, for example, signatures, dates, hours and complete diagnosis due to Unreadable writing. It should still be reminded by the medical recorder who served in the inpatient room, in this case is the Charge of Medical Record (PJRM). The lack of computers for PJRM, as well as the limited space for document storage are still a constraint, PJRM must wait their turn in using computers to enter data, analyze, perform coding, in the treatment room. So also where the document is still less because the medical record is still manual, and the number of patients getting more days.

Abstract

Economic globalization has had the effect of increasing international transactions by multinational corporations. In an effort to achieve optimal profit, the multinational company's companies make various efficiency efforts, both done in legal and illegal ways. The effort is to avoid international tax evasion. One of the forms of tax evasion is through the Control Foreign Corporation (CFC) scheme, ie tax evasion efforts by delaying the recognition of income from foreign- derived capital (especially in tax-haven countries) to be taxed domestically. Tax evasion practices with this scheme can undermine state revenues from the tax sector. For the Indonesian state that makes the tax revenue as the prima donna of state revenue, this is a serious concern. Therefore, to counteract the practice of tax avoidance, the Indonesian state makes CFC Rules. CFC Rules in Indonesia have been renewed several times in an effort to close these tax avoidance opportunities as well as to secure state revenues from the tax sector.

Abstract

Ultrasonography (US) is the cheaper and non invasive modality to determine Achilles tendon. Prone position is the standart position of Achilles tendon US. However, it is a discomfort for an uncooperative patient and a difficult technique too. The erect position is an alternative technique of Achilles tendon US. The goal of this study is to compare the erection as an alternative position with prone as a standart position. Material and Methode: The patient who had an injury or any inflamation process of Achilles tendon were excluded. The patient underwent two positions of Achilles tendon US, 900 and dorsoflexi. Longitudinal axis measured tendon thickness and a transversal axis which covered a cross-sectional area of the tendon. Result: From all the 21 patients coming, 13 patients were males (61,9%), and eight patients were females (38,1%). The mean of tendon thickness and cross-sectional area in 900 prone positions were 4,24±0,24 mm, 30,08±2,86 mm, respectively. The mean of tendon thickness and cross-sectional area in 900 erect positions were 4,27±0,23 mm, 31,36±2,19 mm, respectively. There was no anisotropy effect during longitudinal axis examination. Conclusion: We found that there were no significant differences between a prone and erect position (p<0.05). The erect postion could be an alternative position, uncooperative patient in particular, without reducing the diagnostic value.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal problems are complaints on the parts of the skeletal muscles felt by someone start complaints very mild to very sick. When the muscle receives static load repeatedly and for a long time will may cause complaints of damage to the joints, ligaments and tendons. Complaints to the damage this is what is usually termed the complaint musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or injury to the musculoskeletal system (Grandjean, 1993; Lemasters, 1996). This study aims to know a more effective treatment of electrotherapy and deep massage with massage than picking up, in reducing pain in patients with musculoskeletal pain complaints. This study used a quasi-experimental design (quasi experimental) double blind with a value of 5% negligent. This research was conducted at the Rumah Fisio Clinic and Patient’s home. These samples included 25 patients, with medical diagnosis of musculoskeletal pain who underwent physiotherapy program from May to July 2016, was taken by randomization techniques. Pain was measured by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The results of the analysis of the t test showed that electrotherapy and deep massage (mean = 3.18) more effective than Picking up (mean = 2) in reducing the patient's pain

Abstract

A study has been conducted to test the use of electric fields to lower blood sugar levels on rats with type II Diabetes Mellitus. This study uses male rats (Rattus novergicus), aged 8-12 weeks weighing 150-200 grams, with a total of 31 rats. Therapy was conducted by putting rats in a chamber that emits an electric field every day for 1 hour for 28 days. To search for the optimum frequency of the treatment, frequency variations of 15, 30, 60, and 120 kHz were given. The electrical charge distribution of the air in the room was then measured, whereas mice blood sugar levels were also measured to reveal the effect of the treatment on cell tolerance to sugar, and to come up with the measurement of insulin levels at the end of the treatment. The results of measurements of the electrical charges in the air were very significant generally showing that the treatment with a frequency of 15 to 120 KHz for 4 weeks in the experimental animals could lower their blood sugar (fasting period), but the success rate significantly occurred at a frequency of 15 kHz. The decrease in fasting blood sugar levels after the treatment was probably due to the influence of the treatment (the influence of an electric field) that improved the regulation of insulin receptors. Improvements in the regulation of insulin receptor activities with high gluconeogenesis may be the cause of a decrease in fasting blood sugar levels that is not accompanied by improved cell tolerance to sugar.
