Abstract

Early marriage is prevalent among teenagers in Indonesia, leading to school dropouts, increased abortion rates, and higher maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR). This study aims to assess the knowledge of the early marriage in high school adolescents. This research is a descriptive quantitative study involving a sample of 151 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The study found that more than half of the adolescents (59.6%) have inadequate knowledge about early marriage. Despite this, there was no statistically significant relationship between gender, age, maternal education, or parental income and adolescents knowledge about early marriage (p>0.05). The findings indicate that adolescents have insufficient knowledge about early marriage. This highlights the need for schools to provide targeted education on early marriage. Future research should explore factors contributing to early marriage incidences and evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions.

Abstract

Companies registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) must present financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and be audited by an independent auditor in a timely manner. This study examines the influence of leverage, financial distress, tax risk, and earnings volatility on audit report lag in the basic materials sector companies listed on the IDX for 2019-2022. Using purposive sampling techniques, the study obtained 19 samples from an initial population of 26 companies after eliminating outliers and analyzed the data using panel data regression through Eviews 12 software. The results show that leverage and financial distress have no significant effect on ARL, indicating that these factors do not directly affect the time taken to complete the audit process for companies in the basic materials sector. However, earnings volatility is shown to have a significant negative effect on ARL, indicating that companies with greater earnings fluctuations tend to take longer to complete the audit of their financial statements. This study contributes to the understanding of the factors that influence ARL in the basic materials sector in Indonesia and can serve as a basis for further research on the influence of external and internal factors on corporate financial reporting transparency.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Montessori didactic materials help elementary school students understand the concept of fractions. Using qualitative methods and a Design Didactic Research (DDR) approach, data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with Montessori teachers, and documentation of student work. The data analysis technique used was thematic analysis, where the researcher identified patterns and main themes from the data collected. Triangulation was conducted to validate the research results by combining findings from interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that the use of concrete manipulative materials significantly improved students' understanding of fractions, developed problem-solving skills, and built a strong connection between abstract and real concepts. The teacher acts as a facilitator, allowing students to learn independently while still guiding them in the exploration process. This study concludes that the Montessori method is effective in teaching fractions at the primary school level, by providing a deep and meaningful learning experience for students.

Abstract

Even more challenging for companies is keeping their financial statements honest in the face of increasingly complicated rules and intense competition in their respective industries. The temptation for management to resort to earnings management tactics to achieve short-term financial goals can be strong in such a scenario. This research project will look at infrastructure, transportation, and logistics-related IDX-listed firms from 2018 to 2022. It will look for patterns in earnings management as an influence of financial distress, information asymmetry, and CEO characteristics like narcissism and power. We will utilize internal control as a moderator to examine the relationship between earnings management and financial distress. Over the course of 5 years, 59 enterprises were selected via purposive samplingand 295 observations were obtained. For this research, we used panel data regression. The financial distress affected earnings management, but information asymmetry, CEO power, and CEO narcissism had no effect. Internal control may also moderate the association between earnings management and financial distress, according to the findings

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of investment decisions and stock prices on the company value in the infrastructure sector, moderated by profitability. The study uses multiple linear regression to examine the relationships between variables, with secondary data obtained from the financial statements of infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period of 2018-2021. The independent variables used in this study are investment decisions, measured by the Price Earnings Ratio (PER), stock price, measured by closing share price, and profitability, measured by Return on Equity (ROE). The dependent variable is company value, measured by Price to Book Value (PBV). The results of the study show that investment decisions and stock prices have a positive and significant effect on company value. However, profitability does not moderate the relationship between investment decisions and stock prices on company value. The implications of this study’s findings suggest that infrastructure companies should pay attention to investment decisions and strategies that can influence stock prices, as both have a significant impact on increasing company value. Additionally, although profitability does not moderate the relationship, companies should still maintain profitable performance to ensure the sustainability of healthy operations.

Abstract

Educational institutions play a crucial role as examples of ethical behavior enforcement in society. This study aims to examine the influence of ethical leadership on ethical behavior through the mediating role of ethical culture in Universitas Mercu Buana, a higher education institution accredited in Jakarta. Specifically, the research investigates how leadership shapes the ethical culture and, subsequently, ethical behavior among academic and administrative staff, thereby setting an example for students in ethical behavior formation. The research employs a quantitative approach with a causality design. Data were collected using structured questionnaires distributed to 150 academic and administrative staff as respondents, selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the AMOS software to identify direct and indirect relationships between variables. The findings reveal that ethical leadership has a significant positive effect on ethical culture (CR = 4.233, P = 0.000) and ethical behavior (CR = 6.677, P = 0.000). Furthermore, ethical culture mediates the relationship between ethical leadership and ethical behavior, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping ethical practices. These results highlight the importance of fostering ethical leadership and culture within educational institutions to promote ethical behavior. The study concludes that strengthening ethical leadership and cultivating an ethical culture in higher education can significantly contribute to forming ethical attitudes and behaviors, which are essential for graduates and society. Practical implications include the need for ethics-based leadership training and the establishment of institutional policies that reinforce ethical norms. These findings offer valuable insights for both academic researchers and practitioners in organizational ethics.
