Abstract

This study examined the effect of Progressive and Game-Like training methods on the shooting ability of Padang State University basketball players, considering motor skill levels (high vs low). A quasi-experimental 2x2 factorial design was used with 20 purposively selected players. Shooting ability was measured using the Basketball Jump Shooting Accuracy Test, and motor skills were assessed with the Barrow Motor Ability Test. Data analysis using two-way ANOVA revealed a significant effect of training methods on shooting ability (F = 31.296; p < 0.05) and a significant interaction between training methods and motor skill levels (F = 76.406; p < 0.05). The Game-Like Method was more effective for players with high motor skills, while the Progressive Method benefited players with low motor skills. These results highlight the importance of tailoring training methods to individual motor characteristics and suggest careful consideration of sample limitations and context in interpreting effectiveness.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of the Teacher Leadership Program (Program Guru Penggerak/PGP) for Physical Education (PJOK) teachers in Dharmasraya Regency using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model. A qualitative descriptive-evaluative approach was employed with eight informants, including teachers, principals, practice instructors, and education office representatives. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documents, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model with source and method triangulation. Findings indicate that the PGP is relevant to teacher needs and policy, supported by adequate modules and institutional resources, and fosters reflective and collaborative practices. However, technical constraints, time management challenges, and variation in teacher engagement were noted. The program enhances pedagogical competence, instructional leadership, and teacher roles as change agents, though impacts on student outcomes and long-term sustainability require further evaluation.

Abstract

Unintended pregnancy among midlife women (approximately 40–55 years) remains marginal within reproductive health research, despite persistent fertility during the perimenopausal transition and elevated maternal health risks at older ages. This narrative review synthesises peer-reviewed empirical studies, clinical guidelines, and policy documents to examine determinants of unintended pregnancy among midlife women, with particular attention to health system and regulatory contexts in Indonesia. The review identifies biological uncertainty during perimenopause, reduced contraceptive vigilance, limited access to long-acting reversible contraception, and insufficient age-responsive counseling as key drivers of unintended pregnancy in midlife. In Indonesia, these risks are compounded by weak integration between reproductive health services and chronic disease management, as well as regulatory ambiguity following recent legal reforms. Based on this synthesis, the article proposes a three-tier prevention framework encompassing primary prevention (fertility awareness and contraceptive counseling), secondary prevention (early pregnancy detection and risk assessment), and tertiary prevention (timely, rights-based clinical management for medically complex pregnancies). Unintended pregnancy in midlife is not an exceptional event but a structurally produced public health issue shaped by interactions between biological, behavioral, health system, and policy factors. Addressing this challenge requires a life-course approach that integrates reproductive health with chronic disease care and aligns clinical practice with coherent, age-responsive policy frameworks to improve maternal health outcomes and reproductive autonomy.

Abstract

This study examines workplace factors—Locus of Control, Situational Leadership, Work Balance, and Workload—and their collective impact on Job Stress. The urgency of this research arises from the increasing prevalence of job stress that threatens employee productivity and organizational sustainability.    The study aims to analyze the direct and indirect effects of these factors in predicting and mitigating stress. A quantitative causal research design was applied with a saturated sample of 95 employees from various organizations. Data were collected through structured questionnaires as the primary instrument, and analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that Locus of Control significantly predicts Job Stress, emphasizing the role of personal control in reducing stress. Situational Leadership positively influences Locus of Control, while Work Balance reduces Job Stress. Conversely, Workload negatively affects Work Balance, thereby increasing stress levels. Indirect effects were also observed, such as Situational Leadership reducing Job Stress through Locus of Control and Workload influencing stress via Work Balance. The implications suggest that organizations should adopt adaptive leadership, strengthen employees’ sense of control, and manage workloads effectively. These integrated strategies provide valuable insights for leaders, policymakers, and researchers to foster healthier and more productive work environments.

Abstract

Patient loyalty is an essential factor contributing to increased in-patient hospital visits. This study aims to understand the importance of patient loyalty in the context of increasing patient visits. This study examines the impact of service quality variables, hospital brand image, patient-perceived value, and patient satisfaction on patient loyalty. Indonesia Mojowarno Christian Hospital located in the peripheral area of Jombang city, covering a wide health area. Looking at the data on hospital visits, there is still a high potential for an increase in the number of visits. Due to the unknown and uncertain population size, it is limited to patients at the Mojowarno Jombang Christian Hospital. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The minimum number of samples used is 160 samples. The analysis used was PLS-SEM analysis. This research model can adequately predict patient satisfaction variables as mediation, so this research model can be recommended to be replicated and tested in different populations. From the results of the structural model analysis, Hospital Image is not proven to have an influence neither Patient Satisfaction nor Patient Loyalty, Service Quality affect both Patient Satisfaction and Patient Loyalty, and Patient Satisfaction has influence on Patient Loyalty.

Abstract

This study examines talent management and succession planning in the leadership cadre process of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) as strategic efforts to ensure leadership continuity and organizational performance. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research focuses on the Central Leadership Council and the Syuro Assembly of PKS. The findings reveal that PKS implements a structured talent management model consisting of six phases: criteria determination, cadre development, Development Center Group selection, accelerated development, key position assignment, and program evaluation. Succession planning is carried out through eight stages, including high-level deliberation, responsibility allocation, needs assessment, professional development, individual focus, position expansion, election, and evaluation. These processes are guided by the party’s vision, AD/ART, and succession as a preparatory mechanism. The study highlights a strong interrelationship between talent management and succession planning, where talent management prepares leadership candidates, and succession outcomes inform future talent criteria. Overall, the model ensures the availability of qualified cadres ready for future leadership roles.

Abstract

The study starts from the problems in collaboration of coastal management and the various efforts have not been able to improve the welfare of fishermen optimally.  This study aims to analyse the actors and their roles in coastal management collaboration in Gisik Cemandi, Indonesia. The type of research is qualitative research with a case study in Gisik Cemandi with aims to reveal phenomena according to the setting and reality. The data used are in the form of primary data and secondary data. The informants consist of Village Head and officials, heads of Village Community, stakeholders and fishermen. The data analysis technique uses thematic analysis techniques, namely through determining themes, data classification, data interpretation and data analysis based on themes. This study found that the actors and their roles in coastal management collaboration are varies. The actors consist of private sectors, universities, government institution. Private sectors provide training, public goods that are needed by fishermen, universities are doing education and training for small enterprises, preserving their sustainable and clean environment, free medical treatment, and increasing the public service quality. Government institution was giving education, training, providing fishing tools and information, guarding the beach security. The private sector and university did all the programs based on trust and community based coastal management, whilst the government collaborate based on formal regulations. The impact of the collaboration can improve fisherman’s skill, fishing livelihood, fish processing product and in social, the fisherman can increase their participation in organization. The challenge of collaboration comes from its continuity. Most of the programs were done in certain time and temporary. Only the programs are coming from government that is continue, so this study recommends to enhance sustainability in collaboration for all actors.

Abstract

This ethnographic study examines how altruism, institutionalized through indigenous wisdom systems, enhances community resilience in four Merapi slope villages. Through interviews with 28 key informants (traditional leaders, religious figures, disaster survivors, and volunteers), focus group discussions, and participant observation, data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results reveal that gotong royong (mutual cooperation) emerged as the dominant resilience mechanism, mentioned by 96.4% of participants, with 82.1% identifying it as the primary factor. However, effectiveness requires integration with leadership structures (89.3% mentioned as critical), resource accessibility (85.7%), and institutional support (71.4%). Cultural values gotong royong and tepo seliro(empathetic consideration) serve as foundations for social bonding that facilitate post-disaster recovery. Traditional ecological knowledge, comprising 23 environmental indicators, showed 67% correlation with seismographic data and provided 18–36 hour early warning advantages over official evacuation notices. Yet systematic challenges constrain cooperation effectiveness: internal conflicts (28.6% of cases), resource limitations (64.3%), and bureaucratic coordination delays (averaging 2.3 days). Villages with strong cooperation but weak institutional linkages experienced 6-hour evacuation delays and 40% higher resource consumption compared to integrated systems. The study concludes that altruism-based resilience operates through multi-factorial mechanisms rather than cooperation alone. Practical recommendations include integrating traditional early warning systems into village disaster policies through hybrid monitoring protocols, establishing community liaison roles, and implementing leadership training programs combining cultural values with modern coordination mechanisms.
