Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of ICT-based gamification combined with different video presentation types in improving students’ concept mastery of earthquakes and disaster mitigation. A quasi-experimental design was employed involving 50 eighth-grade students from a junior high school in West Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, who were divided into three groups: gamification with dialogue video, gamification with monologue video, and conventional learning. Students’ concept mastery was measured using a validated 25-item multiple-choice test administered before and after instruction. Data were analyzed using normalized gain scores and inferential statistics. The results indicate that students who learned through gamification supported by video media showed significantly higher concept mastery compared to those in conventional learning. Although the dialogue video group demonstrated higher gains than the monologue video group, the difference was not statistically significant. These findings suggest that gamification supported by video media is an effective instructional strategy, while highlighting the importance of interactivity in video design to support meaningful concept learning in science education.

Abstract

This study aims investigated the effects of arm muscle power, leg muscle power, and hand–eye coordination on smash accuracy among male volleyball players at SMK Negeri 2 Kerinci. The research employed a quantitative design using path analysis to examine direct, indirect, and simultaneous relationships among variables. The population consisted of 30 male volleyball athletes, with total sampling applied. Arm muscle power was measured using the one-hand medicine ball put test, leg muscle power using the vertical jump test, hand–eye coordination using the ball werfen und fangen test, and smash accuracy through a standardized smash accuracy test. Data were analyzed using path analysis at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that arm muscle power, leg muscle power, and hand–eye coordination each had significant direct effects on smash accuracy, with hand–eye coordination contributing the strongest influence. In addition, arm and leg muscle power exerted significant indirect effects on smash accuracy through hand–eye coordination. Simultaneously, all variables explained a substantial proportion of variance in smash accuracy. These findings highlight the importance of integrating physical power and coordination training in volleyball instruction at the school level.

Abstract

Free-throw performance is a crucial skill in basketball, directly affecting scoring without defensive interference. This study systematically reviewed national and international literature (2018–2024) to examine physical, psychomotor, and psychological determinants of free-throw accuracy in youth players. Using a PRISMA-based approach and thematic synthesis, three core variables were analyzed: upper-limb explosive power, hand–eye coordination, and concentration. Findings indicate that upper-limb strength enhances elbow stability, release speed, and movement efficiency; hand–eye coordination improves visual-motor integration and shooting precision; and concentration supports motor control, emotional stability, and resistance to competitive pressure. These factors interact synergistically to enable consistent and accurate free throws. The review highlights the importance of integrated training programs combining physical conditioning, coordination drills, and mental skills practice for youth development. Results provide evidence-based guidance for coaches to design holistic interventions that optimize free-throw performance and contribute to long-term skill consistency in competitive basketball settings.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of economic structure, particularly the agricultural sector, on Indonesia’s economic growth by incorporating investment, education, and health as supporting variables. Using panel data from 34 provinces over the period 2015–2024, the analysis is estimated with a Fixed Effect Model based on Chow and Hausman tests. Economic structure is proxied by the contribution of the agricultural sector to regional GDP. The results indicate that the agricultural sector has a positive and significant effect on economic growth, reflecting its role in employment creation, food security, and intersectoral linkages. Gross Fixed Capital Formation and education also show positive and significant effects, highlighting the importance of productive investment and human capital. In contrast, health exhibits a negative and significant effect, suggesting inefficiencies and unequal access to healthcare across regions. These findings imply that Indonesia’s economic growth is shaped by sectoral structure and the effectiveness of supporting factors, with policy relevance for strengthening agriculture, investment, education, and health system reforms.

Abstract

Smash performance in volleyball is a complex motor skill influenced by lower-limb explosive power, hand–eye coordination, and trunk flexibility. This systematic literature review (2018–2025) synthesized 15 studies from international and national databases using PRISMA guidelines. Findings indicate that explosive leg strength drives take-off height, angle of attack, and initial momentum, with rate of force development and coordination patterns mediating mid-air stability. Hand–eye coordination critically supports timing accuracy and directional control, while trunk flexibility enables efficient energy transfer and arm acceleration. Effective smash execution emerges from the interaction of force production, neurosensory control, and segmental mobility. Training programs should adopt multidimensional approaches integrating plyometrics, visual-motor drills, and flexibility exercises, tailored to developmental stage and individual needs, with assessments guiding prioritization. Future research should evaluate combined interventions and performance transfer in competitive settings.
