Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Integrated Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program at the Department of Automotive Engineering Education, Yogyakarta State University, using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation framework. Employing a qualitative design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with Industrial Practice (PI), Teaching Practice (PK), and Community Service (KKN) coordinators, lecturers, and industry partners, complemented by document analysis. The context evaluation indicates strong alignment between institutional objectives and national MBKM policy. However, input findings reveal gaps in student readiness, particularly in technical skills, professional attitudes, and industrial work culture. Process evaluation identifies coordination inefficiencies among PI, PK, and KKN, including overlapping implementation mechanisms and inconsistent supervision. Product evaluation shows that while most learning outcomes were achieved, limited industry understanding of MBKM activity distinctions affected mentoring effectiveness. Overall, the program demonstrates acceptable effectiveness but requires clearer operational regulations, strengthened industry communication, and enhanced student preparation to ensure more consistent and sustainable outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to map the level and configuration of legal literacy among residents of Darungan Village, Pare District, Kediri Regency, by examining four core dimensions: legal knowledge, legal awareness, attitudes toward the law, and legal behavior. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were collected from 100 adult village residents selected through purposive sampling using a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistical analysis was employed to identify mean scores and categorical levels across each legal literacy dimension. The findings indicate that overall legal literacy in Darungan Village is categorized as high. Residents demonstrate strong legal awareness and positive attitudes toward the law, while legal knowledge and legal behavior show moderate variation across dimensions. Although normative compliance with legal rules is well established, active engagement in formal legal processes such as reporting violations and participating in legal education activities remains limited. These results suggest that high legal awareness and positive attitudes do not automatically translate into proactive legal behavior. The study implies that efforts to strengthen legal literacy in rural communities should move beyond information dissemination and address structural, cultural, and access-related factors that influence legal behavior. Mapping legal literacy empirically at the village level provides an important foundation for designing context-sensitive legal education and community empowerment strategies that are aligned with local social realities.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs for developing teacher leadership–based gamified teaching materials to strengthen students’ mental resilience in remote school settings. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, the study focuses on the analysis phase as a preliminary investigation. A qualitative descriptive design was used, with data collected through classroom observations, analysis of instructional documents, and semi-structured interviews with teachers and students in five junior high schools in remote areas of Madura. The findings indicate that learning practices remain predominantly conventional and text-based, offering limited opportunities to foster student engagement and mental resilience. Although instructional documents meet curriculum standards, they lack visual, progressive, and challenge-oriented activities. Both teachers and students express a strong need for interactive learning media that support teacher leadership while enhancing students’ confidence, persistence, and psychological safety. These results highlight a significant gap between current instructional practices and the pedagogical requirements for developing students’ mental resilience, providing a strong foundation for the development of context-appropriate gamified teaching materials for remote schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a local wisdom-based educational game to support the improvement of critical thinking and communication skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. The research addressed the limited availability of interactive learning media that integrate local cultural values and support 21st-century skills, particularly in IPAS learning. The game was developed by incorporating Sarolangun local wisdom within a Game-Based Learning (GBL) framework using the ADDIE model. Validation was conducted by media, content, and language experts, while practicality testing involved teachers and students. The effectiveness of the game was examined through pre- and post-assessments of students’ critical thinking and communication skills using structured instruments. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results indicated that the game achieved high validity scores (content 4.38, media 4.64, language 4.69) and very practical criteria based on teacher and student responses. Post-assessment results showed an improvement in students’ critical thinking and communication skills compared to pre-assessment. These findings suggest that the developed game is valid, practical, and has potential to support skill development while introducing local cultural values in elementary education.

Abstract

This study examines the weakening internalisation of Islamic values in Islamic higher education, focusing on Nahdlatul Ulama institutions where Ahlussunnah Wal-Jama’ah (Aswaja) serves as an ideological foundation for strengthening moderate Islamic character. Using a qualitative multiple case study at Wahid Hasyim University Semarang and Balekambang Polytechnic Jepara, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and analysis of curriculum and institutional policy documents. The findings reveal four key patterns: Aswaja values are more strongly embedded in formal religious activities than in academic learning; institutional policies lack measurable indicators for Aswaja-based character outcomes; campus leadership plays a decisive role in shaping Aswaja institutional culture; and students tend to perceive Aswaja as an institutional identity rather than an ethical framework guiding academic practice. These findings indicate a gap between the normative vision of Aswaja and its practical implementation, resulting in symbolic and fragmented internalisation. This study concludes that strengthening moderate Islamic character requires a systemic Aswaja value-based curriculum integrating conceptual, pedagogical, and institutional dimensions, positioning Aswaja as an epistemological framework rather than merely a cultural symbol.

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning motivation and learning outcomes of students with disabilities in a Citizenship Education course through the implementation of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by Articulate Storyline media. The research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles involving 12 students with disabilities at Pamulang University. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire and cognitive achievement tests administered in the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. The results indicate an improvement in learning motivation from 33% in cycle I to 78% in cycle II. In addition, classical learning completeness increased from 33% to 83%, indicating better cognitive achievement after the implementation of the intervention. The findings suggest that the integration of PBL and interactive digital media facilitates active participation, enhances motivation, and supports inclusive learning. Therefore, the use of Articulate Storyline within a PBL framework can be an effective instructional strategy to improve motivation and learning outcomes for students with disabilities in higher education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of religious character education proposed by K.H. Abdullah Said and its implementation at the Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School in Balikpapan. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that religious character education is grounded in tawhid as an epistemological foundation shaping students’ worldview, value orientation, and behavior in an integrated manner. The Systematics of Revelation functions as an educational manhaj that structures the internalization of values progressively, from spiritual awareness to social responsibility. The study also reveals the integration of the formal curriculum and hidden curriculum as a key factor in character formation, while identifying a gap between students’ conceptual understanding of religious values and their behavioral consistency. This research contributes to Islamic character education studies by offering a holistic, tawhid-based educational model that is contextually rooted and responsive to contemporary educational challenges.
