Abstract

abstract This study seeks to undertake a thorough analysis of the effects of political patronage, a pervasive and deeply rooted practice that is prevalent throughout Uganda and has profound implications for governance and service delivery. In this research, Kabale Municipality, located in Kabale District, serves as a crucial case study. This municipality has been selected due to its unique political dynamics and the evident discrepancies in service delivery that reflect broader national trends. By exploring the disparities in service provision between regions that are considered loyal to the government and those that maintain affiliations with opposition parties, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how political patronage shapes the landscape of service delivery in Uganda. The situation in Kabale is illustrative of the systemic issues prevalent across the country, making it an ideal microcosm for this analysis. The research employs a comparative case study design that is intricately guided by the philosophical framework of critical realism. A diverse range of qualitative methodologies, including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observational studies. The expected recommendations may include the introduction of policy reforms that enhance transparency and accountability in the allocation of resources, the establishment of more inclusive and participatory mechanisms for decision-making, and the implementation of strategies designed to empower marginalized communities that have historically been sidelined due to their political affiliations. Key words: political patronage, service delivery, participatory politics, decision making

The population in this study is the population of Bandung City in 2023 as many as 2,506,600 (BPS Bandung City 2024 data), using the Slovin formula sampling technique, a margin of error of 10% was obtained from a sample of 97 respondentsFindings – The results showed that sustainability-driven product quality had a strong relationship with consumer purchasing decisions, while brand understanding had a stronger relationship. Simultaneous analysis indicated that both variables significantly influenced purchase decisions, with brand understanding having a greater impact than product quality Novelty/value – Previous research has extensively explored the individual impacts of product quality and brand awareness on consumer behavior, yet the combined effect of these factors within the context of sustainability remains underexamined.

Abstract

This paper aims to assess production and inventory efficiency after the ERP system transition from Odoo to INSYS at PT. Mulia Cipta Rasa, a food manufacturing company in Indonesia, by applying lean manufacturing indicators. It further analyzes the obstacles encountered during the transition, how these obstacles affect production and inventory efficiency, and provides strategic recommendations for improvement.. Methodology/approach – This research used a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews with relevant informant, supplemented by observations and internal company documentation. Analysis was conducted using lean manufacturing waste indicators.. Findings – It was found that. There is no increase in production and inventory efficiency after changing the INSYS ERP system, this is due to several obstacles such as inter-departmental dependencies, INSYS ERP system limitations, adaptation to different systems, lack of training and socialization, human error and employee resistance, mismatch between minimum purchase quantity (MOQ) and actual needs, not integrated with supplier systems that support real-time tracking. Novelty/value – While numerous studies have focused on ERP success factors, few have explored post-ERP system migration production and inventory efficiencies in the food manufacturing industry and the barriers affecting them. This paper offers contextual insights into ERP-related efficiencies and provides strategic direction specific to the dynamics of perishable goods production.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality, price, perceived value, and trust on customer loyalty at Caffe Little Palembang. A quantitative approach was employed in this study, utilizing survey and interview methods through the distribution of questionnaires. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total of 396 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 26. The results indicate that both partially and simultaneously, service quality, price, perceived value, and trust have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.853 shows that 85.3% of the variation in customer loyalty can be explained by these four variables, while the remaining 14.7% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. In conclusion, enhancing customer loyalty can be achieved by maintaining high service quality, implementing appropriate pricing strategies, offering added value, and consistently building trust. This study provides valuable insights into the combined impact of service quality, price, perceived value, and trust on customer loyalty in the context of a local café business in Palembang. Unlike previous studies that often focused on large-scale or international brands, this research highlights the importance of these factors in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in the food and beverage sector. The findings offer practical implications for business owners seeking to improve customer retention through targeted strategies based on customer perceptions and trust-building efforts.
