Abstract

This study aims to uncover the process of moral formation of students at the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School, Campus 9, Sulit Air, Solok, and to identify various obstacles and supporting factors that influence it. This study is a field study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and used the snowball sampling method in determining informants. Data sources include the Head of the Islamic Boarding School, the Boarding School Teacher Advisory Board (Syeikh Rayon), Senior Students (Mudabbir), and students residing in the Syanggit Dormitory. The results of the study indicate that the process of moral formation of students is carried out comprehensively through two main channels, namely education in the classroom through Islamic subjects rich in moral content, and educational activities outside the classroom such as sports, speeches, and worship activities that shape the character and personality of students. The obstacles faced in this process include differences in student backgrounds, limited time and supervision, lack of student discipline, motivational crisis, psychological pressure, and minimal support from parents. On the other hand, there are several supporting factors, such as synergy and collaboration between students, the Mudabbir (Islamic youth leader), and homeroom teachers, as well as the active involvement of parents and teachers in fostering students' morals. These findings provide an important starting point for future researchers exploring similar issues in broader contexts and issues.

Abstract

This research is a field study with a descriptive qualitative approach that aims to comprehensively describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation process of the tahsin program for teachers and students, as well as interpret the dynamics that occur during its implementation. The results of the study indicate that during the planning stage, the head of the school prepares teaching materials such as a tahsin guidebook, the Quran, stationery, and other supporting media such as PowerPoint and additional reference sources. Teachers prepare the guidebook, stationery, and the Quran, while students prepare the Tilawati book, stationery, and the Quran. During the implementation stage, the tahsin program for teachers is carried out once a week, while for students it is carried out four times a week using media such as the tahsin guidebook, the Quran, and the Tilawati book. Teacher evaluations are carried out continuously throughout the learning process, both at the beginning and at the end of the session. Meanwhile, student evaluations are carried out after completing each chapter of material, both verbally and in writing. The obstacles faced in the implementation of tahsin for teachers are time constraints and regular teacher absence due to other busyness, which are overcome by giving additional assignments in the form of memorizing theory or practice. Meanwhile, obstacles faced by students include low attendance rates and differences in their ability to absorb material, which are addressed by giving homework and additional time for individual tahsin.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum (Independent Curriculum) is a curriculum implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology since 2022. Although this curriculum aims to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, several problems have been identified in its implementation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) at a junior high school. This study used a qualitative case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten informants, including the principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and students. All data were analyzed using the thematic interactive model of data analysis of Miles and Huberman. The research findings describe how the Merdeka Curriculum is implemented in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) through three stages: i) planning by teachers, ii) learning implementation, including opening, core, and closing activities, and iii) evaluation of student outcomes. Overall, all stages have been implemented successfully through the concept of independent learning in the practice of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Utrujah method in learning the Quran at Markaz Ashhabul Qur'an, Bukittinggi City. The Utrujah method is an integrative approach designed to facilitate children, especially those of an early age, in reading and memorizing the Quran in a fun and systematic way. The purpose of this study is to describe in depth how the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Utrujah method is applied in the institution. The research approach used is qualitative with the type of field research, where data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the head of the foundation, the principal, the vice principal, and the teaching female teachers. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the planning of the Utrujah method has been well designed through the preparation of adequate materials, strategies, and learning tools; (2) the implementation of the method is carried out in a structured manner through the practice of reading the hijaiyyah letters and tahsin guided directly by the teacher; (3) learning evaluation is carried out using oral and written tests to measure the memorization ability and quality of the students' reading. This research is expected to be an initial reference for further studies in the context of developing Al-Quran learning methods in various tahfidz institutions.

Abstract

The implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning in the eleventh grade of State Senior High School One, Empat Koto District, Agam Regency, shows that teachers have not developed an appropriate learning model, and the teaching modules used are not yet appropriate to the learning process in the classroom, resulting in low student learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application of problem-based learning models in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects. This study is a classroom action research that uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. Learning planning is carried out by reviewing learning outcomes, compiling learning objectives, preparing media and learning resources, and compiling student worksheets, evaluation questions, and observation sheets. The implementation of learning follows the stages of the problem-based learning model, namely problem recognition, organizing learning activities, guiding the investigation process, presenting results, and evaluating the problem-solving process. Learning evaluation is carried out in two cycles. In the first cycle, the first meeting, the results are in the sufficient category; the first cycle, the second meeting, increases to the good category; and in the second cycle, the first meeting, the learning outcomes are in the very good category. These results indicate that the application of the problem-based learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects.
