Abstract

Classroom learning is expected to foster students’ enthusiasm for learning, thereby increasing their learning intentions and motivation. This condition is closely related to the teaching methods applied by the teacher. Teaching methods have a significant influence because they directly affect students, so teachers must carefully select learning methods that can encourage students to actively engage in learning. One of the common problems in the learning process is low student activeness, which is caused by teacher-centered instruction and limited student involvement in problem-solving activities. To address this issue, a learning model that has the potential to increase student activeness is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This study aimed to improve students’ activeness through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning method in teaching the digestive system material for Grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Kupang Timur. The research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the results of observations on teacher activities and student activeness. The results showed a significant increase in student activeness by 30%, from 51% in Cycle I to 81% in Cycle II after improvements in the instructional actions. Teacher activity also increased by 14%, from 75% to 89% in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model can effectively improve student activeness in the learning process.

Abstract

The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is a problem-based learning that trains activeness, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through educational interactions. This study aims to improve motivation and learning outcomes of Global Warming material for class X IPA students of SMA Negeri 9 Kupang through the PBL model assisted by animated videos. This type of research is Classroom Action Research which is carried out in two cycles, including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 students with data collection techniques in the form of observation, tests, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed a significant increase in cycle II. The average value of student learning outcomes increased with a completeness level reaching 90%. Student learning activities also increased to 92.85%, where the researcher's activities in both cycles were categorized as successful. Student learning motivation increased from 76.31% in cycle I to 87.75% in cycle II. It was concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by animated videos effectively increased student motivation and learning outcomes on global warming material at SMA Negeri 9 Kupang.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine community knowledge and ethnobotanical utilization of turmeric (Curcuma longa) in Oinlasi Village, South Mollo District, Timor Tengah Selatan Regency. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of community members who have knowledge and use turmeric in their daily lives. The results showed that the people of Oinlasi Village have good knowledge of turmeric and utilize it in various aspects of life. The most commonly used plant part is the rhizome. Turmeric is used as traditional medicine to treat stomachache, wounds, and inflammation, as a cooking spice, and in certain traditional ceremonies. The processing methods include pounding, boiling, or grating depending on the purpose of use. Knowledge of turmeric utilization is inherited from generation to generation through oral tradition. In conclusion, turmeric (Curcuma longa) plays an important role in the lives of the Oinlasi community in terms of health, food, and cultural practices. This ethnobotanical knowledge needs to be preserved as part of the local wisdom of the community.

Abstract

In implementing a company's work program, leadership significantly influences the company's performance and work situation in implementing business programs that will be implemented in an integrated system with employees. The implementation of Indonesian leadership styles varies greatly. One leadership style used is authoritarian leadership. Authoritarian leadership is a bureaucratic and one-way leadership style. The influence of this leadership certainly has an impact on employee job satisfaction. The objectives of this study were: 1) Analyze the behavior of authoritarian leadership style on job satisfaction in Generation Z; 2) Analyze the behavior of authoritarian leadership style on job satisfaction in the millennial generation. The research method used was a Systematic Literature Review taken from reputable journals SINTA, SCOPUS, and non-reputable journals. The results of the study from the journal screening results, job satisfaction in Generation Z tends to decrease because this generation has characteristics that lead to flexibility. This is reinforced by the easy decline in work motivation if their participation is not meaningful to the company. Meanwhile, the millennial generation is more tolerant of organizational structures and has the ambition to actively participate in the work environment.

Abstract

Insects and soil fauna play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of the soil ecosystem and serve as indicators of environmental quality. The use of insecticides in land management has the potential to impact the presence and diversity of soil fauna. This study aims to identify the types of insects and soil fauna found in cultivated land after the application of the insecticide Applaud 10 WP in the Maulafa Housing complex, Kupang City. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a survey or exploration technique. Soil and litter samples were taken at various depths, then extracted using a Tullgren funnel and identified in the laboratory. Environmental parameters measured included soil pH, temperature, and soil moisture. The results showed that 14 species of insects and soil fauna were found at the study site belonging to several orders and families, including Acari, Collembola, Coleoptera, Hymemoptera, Isoptera, and Chilopoda. The soil pH, temperature, and soil moisture values were within a range that is considered good for supporting soil fauna life. Based on these results, it can be concluded that despite the application of Applaud 10 WP insecticide, soil fauna was still found with a certain diversity. The presence of this soil fauna demonstrates its role in maintaining the fertility and balance of the soil ecosystem in residential areas

Abstract

Osteomyelitis is a bone infection that can cause extensive tissue damage, potentially leading to amputation. Post-amputation patients commonly experience acute pain influenced by inflammatory processes, surgical trauma, and peripheral nerve stimulation. Pharmacological approaches are often used, but non-pharmacological therapies such as Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) are considered to have the potential to help reduce pain perception thru relaxation and emotional regulation mechanisms. This study was conducted to examine the effectiveness of SEFT on post-amputation patients due to osteomyelitis. This study uses a case report design on a 63-year-old male patient diagnosed with right tibia-fibula osteomyelitis post-amputation. The SEFT intervention was administered over four sessions, each lasting 15 minutes. Pain evaluation was performed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) before and after the intervention. After four SEFT sessions, the pain intensity decreased from a scale of 7 to 4. In addition to pain reduction, patients reported increased relaxation, emotional calmness, and improved sleep quality. Vital signs, particularly heart rate, indicate improvement toward the normal range. This finding suggests that SEFT is effective as a complementary intervention for reducing acute pain in post-amputation patients. The combination of meridian point stimulation and spiritual affirmations is believed to contribute to physiological relaxation and increased self-acceptance. This intervention has the potential to be applied in nursing practice as a safe, simple, and side-effect-free holistic approach.

Abstract

Septic arthritis is a musculoskeletal infection that can lead to permanent joint damage if not managed promptly and adequately. Patients following arthrotomy commonly experience pain and decreased muscle strength due to immobilization, which contributes to impaired physical mobility. Gradual weight-bearing exercise is a rehabilitative intervention aimed at improving muscle strength, reducing pain, and enhancing ambulatory ability. This study employed a descriptive case study design involving a 47-year-old male patient diagnosed with post-arthrotomy of the right knee due to septic arthritis at RSUD Umar Wirahadikusumah in March 2025. The intervention was administered over four consecutive days with progressive loading adjusted to the patient’s tolerance. Evaluation was conducted using Manual Muscle Testing (MMT), Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and Functional Ambulation Category (FAC). The results demonstrated an improvement in physical mobility, indicated by decreased pain levels, increased muscle strength, and gradual enhancement in ambulatory function. Therefore, gradual weight-bearing exercise is considered an effective nursing intervention in supporting the recovery of musculoskeletal function in post-arthrotomy patients with septic arthritis

Abstract

Postpartum mothers often experience emotional changes characterized by unexplained crying, irritability, and excessive anxiety, commonly known as postpartum depression. If left untreated, postpartum depression may progress to major depressive disorder, reduce a mother's ability to care for her newborn, hinder mother–infant bonding, and increase the risk of developmental and psychosocial problems in the child later in life. Therefore, early psychosocial support is essential to help mothers adapt emotionally and prevent long-term consequences. This case study aims to explore the role of psychosocial support provided by nurses in reducing postpartum depression. Methods: This study employed a descriptive case study approach conducted in the Jade Ward of RSUD dr. Slamet Garut. The subject was Mrs. R, a 24-year-old mother on days 18, 19, and 20 post–cesarean section. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and medical record reviews. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was used to assess depression levels before and after the intervention. The main intervention consisted of psychosocial support delivered over three days through therapeutic communication, emotional exploration, relaxation exercises, and facilitation of family support. Results: The EPDS score decreased from 15 to 10 after three days of intervention. Subjectively, the mother reported feeling calmer, began showing interest in caring for her baby, and became more open in communicating with her family. Conclusion: Psychosocial support effectively reduced postpartum depression by enhancing emotional well-being and perceived social support. Nurses are expected to play roles as educators, counselors, and facilitators of family involvement in supporting the psychological adaptation of postpartum mothers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement in student learning outcomes through the influence of the SSCS learning model on the circulatory system in eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang City in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. Two sample classes were used: the experimental class using the SSCS learning model and the control class using the conventional learning model. Random sampling was used for sampling. The assessment instrument consisted of 10 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions. Learning outcome data, in the form of pretest-posttest results from both classes, were analyzed quantitatively using t-tests, preceded by prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. Based on the results of the treatment of the two classes, the normality values ​​of the pretest-posttest of the experimental class were obtained (0.063 > 0.05) and (0.100 > 0.05) while in the homogeneity test on the pretest of the control-experimental class (0.803 > 0.05) and posttest of the control-experimental class (0.172 > 0.05) so that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and the average posttest learning outcomes in the control class were 64.53 in the very low category while the average posttest results in the experimental class were 73.09 in the medium category, and supported by the results of the t-test with the results that there was an influence of the SSCS learning model on the Learning Outcomes of Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang City on the Circulatory System Material. This shows that the influence of the SSCS learning model can influence student learning outcomes to increase in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kupang City.

Abstract

The objective of this research is adjusted to the research problem,namely to determine the teacher’sskills in impementing the problem based learning model to develop students’psychomotor Abilities. The researcher used the method used in this research is a qualitative method.The data collection technique used in this research is observation, documentation and interview techniques.The data analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is effectiveness of PPKn Teacher skills in Applying the problem based learning model to Train students’psychomotor Abilities.The application is in actively managing the class by providing relevant and challenging problems,guiding students actively without dominating,encouraging collaboration with clear roles in groups, and ensuring reflection and evaluation to deepen understanding.students towards real issues.
