Abstract

Background: Robotics technology has evolved from merely representing technological progress to becoming an essential component of modern learning, supporting students’ creativity and logical reasoning. However, SMAN 8 Seluma faces limitations in its facilities and infrastructure, which prevent the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) into the learning environment. Purpose of the Study: To overcome this issue, a community service program was conducted to provide robotics training and AI introduction to 25 students and 3 teachers. Methods: The methods employed included the introduction of robot components, robot assembly practice, sensor development, and AI fundamentals. Results: From the activities, the participant groups successfully assembled a fully functional robot. The questionnaire results indicated a clear increase in students’ knowledge before and after the program. The pre-test results showed that 10% of participants were not familiar with robotics. Following the training sessions, this proportion improved to 100%, indicating that all participants had acquired an understanding of robotics. A similar pattern was observed for artificial intelligence (AI), where 30% of participants were initially unfamiliar with the technology; however, after the program, 100% of participants demonstrated an understanding of AI concepts)

Abstract

Background: Increasing polarization and ideological tensions in religious life, particularly in Pamekasan Regency, Madura, threaten social cohesion. Textualist and exclusive orientations in understanding the Qur'an contribute to intolerance. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), especially those with Takhassus Tafsir programs, hold strategic potential to foster religious moderation through contextual and participatory exegesis teaching. Purpose of the Study: This community service aims to strengthen religious moderation by mentoring a contextual Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir) teaching model based on exegetical reception within the Takhassus Tafsir Program at Pondok Pesantren Al-Majidiyyah, Pegantenan, Pamekasan. Methods: Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program was implemented over four months (October–December 2025) involving 12 ustadz and 78 students. The process followed eight stages: problem identification, action planning (FGD), model development (curriculum and modules), training, workshops, classroom mentoring, monitoring & evaluation, and dissemination. Results: The mentoring produced a competency-based contextual tafsir curriculum and three thematic modules. Learning practices shifted from textual-passive to participatory-analytical. Results showed 82% of students could conduct contextual verse analysis, 76% could construct moderate, evidence-based arguments, and 71% demonstrated increased engagement in participatory discussions. This approach effectively strengthened students’ critical reasoning, interpretive skills, and inclusive religious attitudes.

Abstract

Background: The lack of interest in reading and declining awareness of folklore preservation in the digital era present significant challenges to the sustainability of oral traditions in Anggoeya Village, Southeast Sulawesi. As digital natives, Generation Alpha requires a literacy approach that is both adaptive and innovative. Preliminary observations showed that 100% of children used smartphones daily but none were familiar with QR codes for education or could identify local folklore narratives. Purpose of the Study: This community service program aims to revitalize the interest of elementary school-aged children (Generation Alpha) in Southeast Sulawesi folklore through the Digital-Mediated Storytelling method. Methods: The approach involved interactive socialization, technology demonstrations using QR Code scanning, and implementation of physical reading habits through the 15-Minute Reading Habit method. Five curated local stories (Oheo, La Moelu, Legenda Gunung Mekongga, La Sirimbone, Wandiu-Diu) were digitized into multimedia formats accessible via QR codes. The program engaged 15 elementary school students. Results: Evaluation indicated significant improvement in digital literacy and cultural understanding. Approximately 80% of participants (12 children) were able to operate QR Code scanning techniques independently, and 86.7% (13 children) successfully identified the moral values within local narratives. The initiative successfully established a "Pojok Baca Sederhana" (Simple Reading Corner) as a community-based literacy hub. The integration of digital media and physical reading habits proved effective in enhancing children's engagement with local wisdom content.
