Abstract

Children's creativity, defined as the ability to think originally and flexibly, is evident in drawing, playing, and various creations. Observations at Permata Ibu Kindergarten show that students have low curiosity, get bored quickly, are passive, and have limited imagination, which indicates a potential lack of creative thinking skills. This study aims to describe the creative thinking abilities of early childhood children at Permata Ibu Kindergarten. The research was conducted in 2023 using a qualitative descriptive approach, referring to the stages of Graham Wallas' creative thinking process. The research location is Permata Ibu Kindergarten in Palangka Raya, with 5 large group students as subjects. Data collection techniques include observation, unstructured interviews, and tests (writing numbers, reading, writing words/letters, and counting). Data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and their validity was tested thru source triangulation and technique triangulation. The research results show that during the preparation stage, students are able to recognize the types of questions and recall relevant information. During the incubation stage, some students exhibited brief thinking behavior before attempting to solve the problem. During the illumination stage, most students were able to generate ideas or solution steps, although some still struggled to explain their thinking process. During the verification stage, not all students rechecked their answers or generated alternative solutions. Out of the five students, three were at the creative thinking level category 2 (moderately creative), one was category 1 (less creative), and one was category 0 (not creative). These findings indicate variations in creative thinking abilities among early childhood children and the need for learning strategies that are more stimulating to creativity

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of interest of early childhood in reading the Qur'an, especially in the introduction of basic hijaiyah letters. One of the factors that influences the interest in learning the Qur'an in early childhood is the right learning method. In the AGA method, there are games that make early childhood happy with the method. So researchers are interested in the AGA method to be used as a method for introducing hijaiyah letters. This study aims to explain the strategy for introducing hijaiyah letters to early childhood with the Anak Surga (AGA) method. The approach applied is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of AGA teachers and students involved in learning with the Anak Surga (AGA) method. The results of this study indicate that the use of the Anak Surga (AGA) method has a very important role in helping to increase interest in reading the Qur'an for early childhood. With a six-step method, namely brain gymnastics, remedial, reading modules, drilling, writing and games. This finding indicates that the use of the AGA method has been adjusted to the development of early childhood, so it is very appropriate to help improve children in recognizing hijaiyah letters.

Abstract

This research explores the use of the traditional batu kerikil (bakil) game as a means to foster cooperative character values among young children at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 31 Tanggul. Beyond its role as entertainment, traditional games function as educational tools that help instill social values such as teamwork, empathy, and responsibility. Initial observations indicated that several children still faced challenges in collaborating during group activities. Adopting a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The participants included one classroom teacher and ten Group A students. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s stages of reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results are expected to offer insights into effective learning management strategies for nurturing cooperative character through the bakil game and to support the advancement of culture-based learning approaches in early childhood education.

Abstract

This classroom action research evaluated the effectiveness of a simple vowel song (a, i, u, e, o) to enhance letter?recognition skills in Group A (ages 4–5) at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 31 Tanggul. Initial accuracy averaged 45%. The intervention was carried out executed over two Kemmis & McTaggart cycles (planning, action, observation, reflection), integrated the song with gestures into daily literacy routines. Data from structured observations, pre? and post?tests, and teacher reflections showed improvement to 70% in Cycle I and 90% in Cycle II. Video and field notes documented increased engagement, confidence, and autonomous use of song cues for identifying letter shapes and sounds. The findings suggest that short, repetitive musical activities with kinesthetic support effectively build early phonemic awareness and letter?shape association. This method is recommended for broader implementation in early childhood literacy programs and teacher training.

Abstract

The student shuttle services are a critical component of special service management in early childhood education, especially in institutions serving underprivileged communities. This study aims to explore the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the shuttle service at KB An Najah, an Islamic early childhood institution under a foundation that offers free education to orphans and underprivileged children in Tanggul District, East Java. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation, the findings reveal that the service emerged from parents’ time constraints and safety concerns, with 12.96% of students relying on it daily. Despite its benefits, the service operates informally without written SOPs, limited personnel, and unstructured coordination. Nonetheless, it significantly supports student attendance and parental peace of mind. This study highlights the need for more structured and sustainable service management practices in community-based educational settings.

Abstract

The parental consistency in parenting is very important, especially for toddlers or around the age of one to three years, because they need rules and limits for their autonomy or independence that they are pursuing in their developmental tasks. Therefore, co-parenting or the cooperation of fathers and mothers in Parenting children is needed, so that fathers and mothers have similarities in applying the rules and methods of Parenting, so that children can optimize their self-regulation and independence learning. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Better Together Training in improving co-parenting of fathers and mothers when caring for children aged one to three years. The method used in this study is Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, which involves one experimental group without a control group. The data in this study was collected in three different times, namely pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test using the Brief CoParenting Scale. Statistical analysis using ANOVA's Repeated Measures found that there was a significant increase in parents' co-parenting levels scores between different measurement times (i.e., pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test), F(2, 30) = 4.17, p <.025, ?2 p = .22. The evaluation of the implementation of this training also obtained positive results from the participants, which was considered very beneficial for them.

Abstract

Communicating from an early age is the right first step in developing good language skills in children. Difficulty in communication can hinder a person from expressing ideas, thoughts, and opinions, which prevents good interaction between children, parents, teachers, and society in general. Good communication is built starting from parent-child, teacher-child, and parent-teacher collaborations to observe each child's development. This is because young children are very sensitive to stimuli in various aspects such as physical motor skills, cognitive, social-emotional, and language. This research aims to provide an overview of the application of the High Scope model in the communication skills of early childhood. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The use of qualitative research aims to understand the phenomenon and provide a clear picture of the implementation of the high scope model in early childhood education learning. Data were obtained through observation and documentation methods. The research results indicate that the communication skills of early childhood children in the implementation of the High Scope model are in the very good development category (BSB) and in the expected development category (BSH). This research implies an increase in the communication skills of early childhood children, making it important for teachers to develop this High Scope model in the development of every aspect possessed by early childhood children.

Abstract

The implementation of deep learning approaches in Early Childhood Education (ECE) demands comprehensive readiness, particularly regarding teachers’ mindsets. However, limited research has examined how growth and Fixed mindsets influence pedagogical transformation in marginal areas such as Indonesia’s 3T regions (frontier, outermost, underdeveloped). This study aims to explore how teachers’ mindsets shape their responses to pedagogical innovation and how reflective thinking on mindset enhances meaningful and contextual learning. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 12 participants (teachers, headteachers, and school supervisors) across 13 districts in the 3T regions of East Nusa Tenggara. Data were analysed thematically using an inductive approach based on mindset framework. This study is limited by its geographical scope and small sample size. However, the findings hold significant implications for teacher training policies and the development of reflective learning communities in marginal contexts. Growth mindset  emerged as a crucial psychosocial asset enabling contextual teaching practices, whereas Fixed mindset was identified both as a barrier and as an adaptive response to systemic limitations. This study highlights teacher mindset as a systemic issue in 3T contexts and offers new contributions to the implementation of deep learning Iapproaches in early childhood education
