Abstract

This qualitative case study investigates learning strategies as part of educational transformation in Raudlatul Athfal (RA) in response to the challenges of the contemporary era, characterized by rapid technological advancement, social dynamics, and 21st-century competency demands. Grounded in the constructivist theories of Piaget and Vygotsky, this research explores the implementation of child-centered learning through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis in two RA institutions located in Parigi District, Pangandaran Regency, representing both urban and semi-rural contexts. The findings reveal a significant shift from traditional approaches toward more active and contextual learning strategies, such as project-based learning, independent exploration, and collaborative activities. These approaches enhance children’s engagement, creativity, and readiness to navigate the complexities of modern challenges. A stimulating learning environment and the teacher's role as a facilitator are essential components in supporting children's active knowledge construction. Although implementation varies across institutions, these learning strategies are generally perceived as effective, despite ongoing challenges such as limited teaching media, technological access, and teacher competencies. This transformation reflects a necessary adaptation by RA institutions to remain relevant and to equip children with critical thinking, social, and creative skills needed in today’s world. This study offers practical contributions to the development of early childhood learning models based on constructivism that are responsive to contemporary challenges and relevant to early childhood education policy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of implementing deep learning strategies in improving primary school students' conceptual understanding of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), particularly the material ‘Weather Changes and Their Impacts’. The research approach used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 22 fifth-grade students from Public Alementary Cchool (SDN) 144/II Pasir Putih Bungo, consisting of 10 boys and 12 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, evaluation tests, reflective interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in students' conceptual understanding after the application of in-depth learning strategies through problem-based learning activities, group discussions, phenomenon exploration, and independent reflection. The average score for student understanding increased from 36.5 (pre-cycle) with a criterion of poor to 64% with a criterion of good (cycle I) and 91 with a criterion of very good (cycle II) with a criterion of very good. Deep learning has been proven to build students' critical thinking skills, knowledge transfer abilities, and ecological awareness related to weather change phenomena and their impacts. Thus, this strategy is suitable for application in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning at the primary school level to develop meaningful, reflective, and contextual learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Albert Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory in early childhood education through the processes of observation and imitation of positive behavior. Bandura’s theory emphasizes that learning results from the dynamic interaction among personal, environmental, and behavioral factors. In the context of early childhood education, observational learning and modeling serve as effective strategies for character formation and the development of children’s social competence. This research employs a literature review approach and limited classroom observation in early childhood institutions. The findings indicate that the implementation of this theory can be carried out through teachers’ positive behavioral modeling, role-playing activities, and reinforcement of prosocial behavior. These strategies have been shown to enhance children’s social awareness, empathy, and self-regulation. Therefore, the application of Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory significantly contributes to the development of character and adaptive behavior in early childhood, providing a strong conceptual foundation for character education curriculum design in early childhood learning environments.

Abstract

The number of natural disasters is one of the lessons that fostering awareness of protecting the environment needs to be done from an early age, so that children have awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and its impact in the future. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how to develop early childhood electroliteracy skills through the waste bank program. This research is a field research using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by data reduction techniques, data presentation, verification and conclusion drawn. The results of this research show that the implementation of waste banks is carried out with 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) where children are actively involved in collecting, weighing, sorting, and processing used goods into learning media. The skills formed in children are the skills to distinguish inorganic waste, resource management, environmental care actions, and socio-ecological collaboration. Based on the waste bank activities carried out at PAUD Prima Sakinah Islamic School Bekasi City, it can be concluded that these activities can develop early childhood ecoliteracy skills. This research is focused on waste bank activities and in one school so the results cannot be generalized. In addition, the method used is qualitative so that the effectiveness of the program cannot be known for sure

Abstract

Speech skills in early childhood are the main foundation for children's language development. This study aims to analyze the influence of the role of teachers in developing early childhood speaking skills in An- Nahri Nurjanah Kindergarten. The focus of the research is directed at how teachers' strategies and iteration quality contribute to the enrichment of vocabulary and children's speaking fluency. The method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The data collection technique used was a likert scale questionnaire and children's speaking ability was measured using a performative test based on five indicators. Furthermore, data analysis techniques using SPSS include descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results showed that the role of teachers had a positive influence on the development of children's speech skills but was very small. Most of the development of a child's speaking ability is influenced by other factors such as the home environment, media stimulation, and the child's individual characteristics. This study emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of teacher-child interaction and the implementation of a more structured and consistent language stimulation strategy

Abstract

Parental involvement in early childhood education is a key factor in supporting the success of holistic learning processes. However, in many early childhood education institutions, including TK Baitussalam Pringsewu, the implementation of parenting programs has not been optimal, as indicated by low parental participation and limited communication between schools and families. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the implementation of parenting programs in supporting parental involvement through the Parent Meeting Class (KPO) service using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants included the school principal, parenting coordinator/teachers, and parents. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Thematic analysis was conducted based on the CIPP components. The findings reveal that in terms of context, the parenting program is considered relevant to local needs. However, in the input aspect, there are still limitations in facilitator competencies and variations in parental participation. The implementation process is conducted regularly and is relatively participatory, but it lacks a sustainable evaluation system. The product of the program shows positive impacts on improving parenting knowledge, communication between school and family, and parental engagement in supporting children’s learning at home. This study contributes to improving a more reflective and contextual implementation model for parenting programs in early childhood education settings. Recommendations are focused on strengthening adaptive parenting materials, providing ongoing facilitator training, and developing a feedback-based monitoring system to enhance the effectiveness of the KPO service.
