Abstract

Childcare at daycare plays an essential role in supporting children’s growth and development, especially when parents have limited time. However, many caregivers still lack comprehensive knowledge of early detection of child development. This community service aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of caregivers at UNISA Daycare in conducting early detection using the Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP). The methods included coordination, training, and developmental screening of 15 children. Results showed that all children had normal KPSP scores, although two had body weight below their age standard. Caregivers actively participated in the training and were able to conduct screening independently. This program highlights the importance of early detection in preventing developmental delays and is expected to be sustainably implemented at UNISA Daycare

Abstract

Health cadres are partners of midwives in providing services to postpartum mothers. The low level of cadres’ skills in practicing oxytocin massage and positive affirmation suggestions may hinder the optimization of postpartum maternal health services. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of cadres in delivering postpartum health care through education and training on oxytocin massage accompanied by positive affirmations. The implementation methods included counseling, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test among 15 cadres in Geger Village, Lamongan Regency. The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score of cadres from 61.5 to 90.5. Practical skills in performing oxytocin massage with positive affirmations also improved, with 90% of cadres able to carry out the technique according to the standard. Abstract

Hearing loss or deafness is one of the serious problems that occur throughout the country. Hearing loss is the loss of the ability to hear sounds or sounds in the normal frequency range to be heard. One of the reasons is the use of drugs. Due to physical, cognitive, and knowledge limitations, there are some deaf friends who, if they check their health at one of the health facilities (Public Health Center), are hindered by communication with health workers, which can cause many deaf friends to be unable to manage drugs properly independently. This study aims to provide free medical examinations and improve the understanding of deaf friends in managing drugs independently through these counseling activities. The method used is an interactive lecture and question and answer discussion using JBI (Sign Language Interpreter) involving about 62 deaf participants at Rahmatul Ilham mosque (Makassar City Hall mosque) Makassar City. The results showed an increase in understanding of participants in the indication or usefulness of the drug, storage, and drug side effects that will occur even though there is a small possibility of side effects. In conclusion, free medical check-ups and health counseling have proven effective in raising deaf friends ' awareness of the importance of correct medication management.
