Abstract

Intestinal diseases caused by transmission from worms as a source of helminthiasis generally occur in areas with subtropical and tropical climate conditions which have a wet climate and lack of awareness among the public regarding maintaining health and sanitation of the surrounding environment. Around 60 percent of Indonesians experience worm infections. The largest age group is 5-14 years old. The prevalence figure is 60 percent, 21 percent of which attack elementary school age children. This disease can be spread by eggs in human waste found in soil and water, therefore awareness of clean and sanitary living is very influential, the process or pattern of feces disposal is also very influential in the spread of this worm. The high rate of soil contamination by Ascaris, which reaches >70%, can also be caused by feces that are thrown anywhere, such as in bushes or around houses close to where you live. Preventing recurrent infections is very important by practicing clean and healthy living habits such as avoiding contact with soil that may be contaminated with human feces, washing hands with soap and water before handling food, protecting food from soil and washing or heating food that falls on the floor. Several researchers have shown that school age is a group that is often affected by worm infections because they are often in contact with soil. Apart from the government, the role of teachers and parents is very important in providing understanding or knowledge about worms so that they are more disciplined. The aim of community service is to provide knowledge and understanding to class IV/A students at SD N Pannara regarding the dangers of worms and how to prevent them and administer worm medicine.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five (for babies under five years of age) which is caused by chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short for his age. Stunting causes children to not reach their maximum height and disrupts brain development which will affect cognitive abilities. One in five children in Indonesia is reported to be stunted. The long-term impact of stunting will cause children to have difficulty receiving lessons, decreased learning achievement, decreased work productivity, low income and minimal participation in community activities. The cause of stunting in toddlers is often the result of many factors related to poverty, including poor diet, health, hygiene and the environment. The current effort being made is to provide education about high protein foods. The education provided aims to enable mothers of toddlers to play a role in providing a healthy, high-protein menu so that it can prevent the incidence of stunting. This community service is carried out with the aim of increasing the knowledge and understanding of mothers of toddlers regarding providing MP-ASI high in animal protein to prevent stunting. It is hoped that after participating in this service activity, mothers of toddlers will be able to provide MP-ASI high in animal protein for toddlers to support their children's height growth.

Abstract

Receiving care from parents is a child's right. However, the absence of parents in a child's life means that a child does not receive care from his parents. The absence of parents is a condition where the whereabouts of the child's parents are unknown or other conditions which prevent the child from getting his right to be cared for. However, this can be overcome by providing alternative care. Alternative care is care that is carried out based on a substitute family or Child Welfare Institution. The development of information and communication technology has influenced every aspect of human life. Smartphones, computers, and tablets have become everyday tools that we rely on for various purposes. However, the high dependence on digital devices also brings new challenges, including negative impacts on physical and mental health, particularly eye health. This research aims to educate 5th grade elementary school students about the importance of maintaining eye health in the digital age through the method of socialization. The research method involves socializing with 5th grade students using educational materials tailored to the children's level of understanding. The socialization activities include interactive presentations, question and answer sessions, and demonstrations of simple eye exercises. After participating in the socialization, students showed a significant increase in understanding regarding the negative impacts of excessive digital device use on eye health. The results of this research highlight the importance of ongoing educational programs and collaboration between various parties to create a healthier digital environment and support eye wellness for all users.

Abstract

Crude oil contamination is one of the major environmental problems, it generated processing water pollution by hydrocarbon. Microorganisms have been used to remove or reduce the effects of environmental pollutants as bioremediation agents and the fact it is environmentally friendly. This study isolated two Klebsiella strains, Klebsiella pneumonia and Klebsiella oxytoca from wastewater of the North refineries company in Baiji according to the morphological and biochemical characteristics. This work aimed to evaluated the capacity of two Klebsiella strains to degrade the petroleum hydrocarbons efficacy, which excreted from wastewater of the North refineries company. The results showed that the Klebsiella oxytoca exhibited a higher hydrocarbon degradation capacity of 67.75% compared to Klebsiella pneumonia, which recorded 45.81%. While mixed culture (Klebsiella oxytoca and Klebsiella pneumonia) was recorded a biodegradation rate of 63.35%. The results showed that efficacy of Klebsiella oxytoca as biodegradation for oil wastewater was 30% higher than other strain.

Abstract

The ongoing health problems in Indonesia require the government to take action so that people can still experience justice and obtain their rights and not cause harm. In order to improve the quality of public health, the government provides social security. This social security is provided by the government and is useful for meeting the basic needs of a decent life, starting from Jamkesmas, Jamkesda, AKSES and most recently the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) for Health. Even though there have been efforts by the government to realize efforts to resolve existing problems, these efforts have not been effective due to several inhibiting factors. A solution is needed in the form of establishing and implementing the IMP (Identity Monitoring Program) concept which is integrated with the Capil Population and Civil Registry Department and BPJS. It is hoped that the application of the IMP concept can minimize the deficit in health insurance and become a solution to solving claims management problems as one of the root causes of the BPJS deficit.

Abstract

As a person ages, various changes often arise due to a decrease in biological function caused by the aging process. Hypertension is one of the NCDs that is a threat, especially to the elderly. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019, it shows that around 1.13 million people in the world experience hypertension. Nguri Village is one of the villages in Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, East Java Province. The problem from the results of the study in Nguri Village is that there are still many people, especially the elderly, who suffer from hypertension and a lack of understanding in preventing hypertension, namely 75% or 45 out of 60 elderly people. The aim of community service is to increase knowledge regarding efforts to prevent hypertension. The implementation method uses health education in the form of doing tera exercises to prevent hypertension in the elderly. Previously, blood pressure was measured. Activities were carried out on 30 hypertensive elderly aged >40 years. The results of the activity were that the elderly knew about preventing hypertension, namely 95% of the 30 elderly were able to understand and the elderly were able to carry out tera and exercise activities. The elderly play a very active role in this activity.
