Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the landscape of political participation, with social media becoming a major platform for political campaigns and discussions. Social media allows wider access to political information and increases public engagement in elections, especially among young voters. However, challenges such as algorithmic bias, disinformation, and political polarization increasingly threaten the integrity of democracy. The echo chamber and filter bubble phenomena cause users to only be exposed to information that is in line with their views, narrowing the space for healthy discussion. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to analyze the role of social media in the 2024 Election campaign. Data were collected through interviews with political communication experts, focus group discussions (FGDs) with young voters, and analysis of campaign content on various digital platforms. The results of the study show that although social media contributes to increasing political participation, the risk of information manipulation and exploitation of user data remains a major concern. Therefore, collective efforts are needed to improve digital literacy, tighten regulations on the spread of hoaxes, and encourage transparency of social media platform algorithms. With these steps, social media can function as a more effective means of strengthening democracy and ensuring more transparent elections based on valid information.

Abstract

The post-truth era is characterized by a decline in the authority of objective truth due to the dominance of emotion-based narratives and subjective beliefs. In the context of government, this phenomenon exacerbates the crisis of public trust, especially with the massive spread of misinformation and disinformation through social media. Political polarization reinforced by digital algorithms further hampers government communication in conveying fact-based information. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of public trust in government institutions in the post-truth era using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, social media content analysis using the Netnography method, and related document studies. The results of the study show that social media plays a dual role as a transparency platform as well as a propaganda tool that can manipulate public opinion. The spread of disinformation is faster than official government communication, causing increased public skepticism. Therefore, the government's communication strategy must be oriented towards transparency, digital literacy, and public participation in order to rebuild legitimacy. Collaboration between the government, media, and academics is key to creating a healthy information ecosystem. With an adaptive communication approach, the government can overcome the challenges of the post-truth era and restore public trust sustainably.

Abstract

The development of financial technology in Indonesia has driven the growth of online lending services (fintech lending) as an alternative source of funding that is easily accessible to the public. However, behind its benefits, various challenges have emerged, such as the rise of illegal online loans, weak consumer protection, and the increasing risk of default. The regulations implemented by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and related agencies aim to regulate and supervise these services so that they continue to run in accordance with healthy and fair financial principles. This study discusses the main challenges in implementing online lending regulations, including low financial literacy among the public, unethical collection practices, and limitations in supervision and law enforcement. In addition, this study also outlines various solutions that can be implemented, such as tightening regulations, improving financial education, strengthening data security technology, and providing safer funding alternatives for the public. In conclusion, the success of online lending regulations is highly dependent on the synergy between the government, financial institutions, and the public in creating a more transparent, safe, and beneficial lending ecosystem for the national economy. With the strengthening of regulations and higher public awareness, it is hoped that fintech lending can develop healthily without harming users.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology, particularly social media, have brought about fundamental changes in the social interaction patterns of the younger generation. These changes not only include the way young people communicate and interact, but also have an impact on the dynamics of social life and the preservation of local culture. This study aims to analyze how social media affects the social interaction patterns of the younger generation and its implications for social life and local culture. A qualitative approach was used in this research, with literature study methods and in-depth interviews with the target group consisting of teenagers and youth in various social environments. The results show that social media facilitates wider connectivity and accelerates information exchange, enabling young people to build social relationships without geographical boundaries. However, on the other hand, high reliance on digital interactions leads to less face-to-face communication, which can reduce the depth of interpersonal relationships and weaken social ties within local communities. Exposure to global culture through social media has the potential to shift local cultural identity, both in communication patterns, lifestyles, and social values. This phenomenon can lead to changes in the mindset and behavior of the younger generation who are more likely to adopt foreign cultures than maintain their own cultural heritage. However, social media can also act as a tool to strengthen and promote local culture if utilized with the right strategy. A balanced approach is needed between the utilization of social media and the preservation of local culture, both through digital education and policies that support cultural integration in the digital world
