Abstract

The frequency of prenatal care visits (ANC) is determined by a number of factors, including age, the distance between the home and the independent midwife practice, and boredom during the examination line wait. Online consultations are one approach for increasing prenatal care (ANC) visits. Online consultation is medical services that facilitate communication between patients and midwives via social media platforms like WhatsApp by utilizing technology and electronic information. The researcher employed a questionnaire as the research instrument, which was given to all 19 independent practice midwives in the Batam Kota district. Based on the findings of the bivariate and univariate analysis that were assessed using Chi-Square, specifically (0.0001 <0.05), the results indicated that midwives' attitudes toward online consultation and knowledge were related to an increase in prenatal care service visits (ANC). The research's findings suggest that in addition to allowing technology to more widely personalize midwife branding, midwives need to keep up with technological advancements in order to compete both domestically and globally.

Abstract

Nutritional problems in toddlers in Indonesia are still high, with a significant prevalence of stunting. Poor appetite in children aged 2 to 6 years is a major factor affecting their nutritional status. One proposed non-invasive solution is aromatherapy with Cymbopogon Citratus (lemongrass), which is known to be calming, stimulating the digestive system, and increasing appetite through stimulation of the olfactory nerve. A quantitative approach was used, involving the participation of children from PAUD Kinta Anak Ceria. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design without a control group. Before the administration of aromatherapy, a pretest was conducted to measure the level of children's appetite. After the intervention with Cymbopogon citratus aromatherapy, a posttest was conducted to assess the changes that occurred. This study revealed the effect of Cymbopogon Citratus aromatherapy on the appetite of children at PAUD Kinta Anak Ceria. With a quantitative Quasi-Experiment design, 20 children were observed before and after the administration of aromatherapy for two weeks. The results showed a significant increase in appetite, from an average of 46.00 to 80.25 with a P-Value of 0.000. In conclusion, Cymbopogon Citratus aromatherapy is effective in increasing children's appetite and is recommended to be applied more widely, involving families and educational institutions, and supported by health workers to ensure its safe and effective use.

Abstract

Insomnia is a symptom of premenopause. This is a result of the mental and physiological shifts that premenopausal women undergo. A decline in sleep quality, brought on by persistent sleep disruptions, might lessen one's standard of living. One non-pharmacological method for improving sleep quality is low-impact aerobic exercise. Finding out how premenopausal women responded to low-impact aerobic exercise for the quality of their sleep was the primary motivation for this study. This study used a pre- and post-test design, which is characteristic of quasi-experimental research. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to assess 30 premenopausal women. The effects of low impact aerobic exercise on the quality of sleep in premenopausal women was examined using data from the Wicoxon test, which had a Sig (2-tailed) value (P < 0.05). Final Product According to the study's findings,. With a p-value of 0.001 < 0.05, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, indicating a substantial change in the frequency distribution from the pre- to post-low impact aerobic exercise period. Results show that premenopausal women at their sleep quality after receiving low-impact aerobic exercise.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is a critical step in preparing a healthy generation from an early stage. This study highlights the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infant growth and development, as well as reducing the risk of disease. Although the WHO and UNICEF recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby's life, coverage in Indonesia has not yet met the established targets. Contributing factors to this low coverage include a lack of knowledge among mothers about breastfeeding and breast care. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of audiovisual education in improving postnatal mothers' knowledge about breast care and supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The research method employed a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest design on a group of postnatal mothers. An audiovisual educational intervention was provided, and knowledge about breast care and exclusive breastfeeding practices were measured before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in mothers' knowledge about breast care from 40% to 80%, and exclusive breastfeeding coverage increased from 60% to 90% after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test indicated that this increase was significant with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000. In conclusion, audiovisual education is an effective method for improving postnatal mothers' knowledge about breast care and supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This effort is expected to contribute to increased coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia, supporting optimal infant growth and development, and reducing infant morbidity and mortality rates

Abstract

Stress among midwives can affect the quality of midwifery services, particularly in hospitals with high levels of activity. Education on stress management is a crucial effort to enhance midwives' knowledge and attitudes in providing optimal midwifery services. This study was conducted at RS Budi Kemuliaan Kota Batam, which includes various midwifery service units such as the 24/7 PONEK room, delivery room, midwifery clinic, postpartum room, and perinatal room. Each unit faces different work pressures, making stress management skills essential for midwives. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of education on midwives' knowledge and attitudes regarding stress management techniques. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest method was employed. The study sample consisted of 30 midwives, selected through total sampling. The instruments used were knowledge and attitude questionnaires, which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included normality tests, which indicated normal distribution, followed by paired t-tests to assess the differences in knowledge and attitudes before and after the educational intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in midwives' knowledge and attitudes after the education (ρ-value < 0.05). The average knowledge score increased from 12.13 to 14.90, while the average attitude score increased from 13.10 to 16.00. The conclusion of this study is that education on stress management effectively enhances midwives' knowledge and attitudes. The practical implication is the need for regular education programs to support midwives' ability to manage stress, thereby continuously improving the quality of midwifery services.

Abstract

Labor is a physiological thing experienced by everyone, but this physiological condition can become pathological if a mother does not know the physiological conditions and a helper or health worker does not understand how a labor is said to be physiological and how to manage it so that it can help reduce maternal mortality. Long labor is caused by inadequate uterine contractions (his) so that the opening of the cervix is slow which results in the mother experiencing fatigue and exhaustion. Inadequate uterine contractions can cause intrapartum and postpartum bleeding. Acupressure produces the hormone oxytocin, which can accelerate the opening of the first stage of labor and affect the progress of labor. One of the acupressure points that can be applied to accelerate the progress of labor is at point LI4. This study aims to determine the effect of acupressure technique on the duration of labor in the first stage. The research method is quasy experiment. The design of the quasy experiment design used was Two group post test Only Design. This research was conducted in the work area of the Tanjung Balai Karimun Health Center, the sample in this study were 80 women in labor during the active phase I. The results of the study in the control group were 8.5 times. The results of the study in the control group were 8.45 hours, with a range of 5-12 hours, in the Acupressure Group it was shorter, namely 6.23 hours, with a range of 4-9 hours with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) it can be concluded that there is an effect of acupressure technique on the length of labor phase I at UPT Puskesmas Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency in 2024. It is recommended to be able to implement acupressure action as an alternative to accelerate the length of labor in Stage I.

Abstract

The present study explores the relationship between reproductive health literacy and quality of life among the elderly population in Tondomulyo Village. A cross-sectional methodology was utilized, involving 86 elderly selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data collection employed structured questionnaires to assess reproductive health knowledge and the WHOQOL-BREF instrument for evaluating quality of life. Analysis using Spearman’s rank correlation revealed that 58.1% of participants had sufficient reproductive health knowledge, and 62.8% reported a favorable quality of life. A significant positive correlation was observed between the two variables (p = 0.001, r = 0.624), indicating that higher levels of reproductive health understanding are associated with improved quality of life among the elderly. These results highlight the need for community-based health education programs aimed at enhancing reproductive health awareness to support overall well-being in older populations.
