Abstract

The Feminism is a belief that men and women should have equal rights in politics, society, sexuality, intellect, and economics. Feminism encompasses movements, theories, philosophies, and everything related to gender equality with the goal of achieving justice for women.Women's Oppression has been a theme in many forms of literature including fairy tales. One of the famous fairy tales is Frau Holle, a fairy tale originating from Germany and collected by the Grimm Brothers in their collection entitled Children's and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausmärchen). The formulation of the problem in this study is how is the oppression of women in the fairy tale Frau Holle? The purpose of this research is to analyze how the oppression of women in Frau Holle's fairy tales. The research method in this study is a qualitative method with content analysis techniques. There is oppression of women in this fairy tale which is done by differentiating women based on gender stereotypes, injustice in treatment, coercion and violence, and rewards and punishments. Based on the results of the analysis of Frau Holle's fairy tale, there are elements of oppression against women by teaching that women must follow certain rules to be appreciated, while those who do not obey the rules will be punished.Keywords: Feminism, Frau Holle’s Tale, Women’s Oppression

Abstract

This research examines the pragmatic aspects of language use on social media by teenagers, focusing on how they convey meaning and intent through online messages. The main aim of this study is to understand the patterns of pragmatic language use and the factors influencing the choice of communication strategies among teenagers on social media. The methodology employed is a literature review with qualitative analysis of various previous studies discussing pragmatics, adolescent communication, and social media. The findings indicate that teenagers tend to employ pragmatic strategies such as irony, sarcasm, and indirect markers to deliver messages effectively and maintain social relationships. The use of these strategies is influenced by cultural factors, social context, and the closeness of relationships between users. These results underscore the importance of understanding pragmatic aspects when studying teenage communication on social media, as well as its implications for developing digital literacy and effective communication skills. Keywords: Pragmatics, Language, Social Media, Teenagers

Abstract

The Backgrounds of this research problem is students find it difficult to understand and write descriptive text due to a lack of ideas for describing something. In using audio-visual media in learning to write descriptive text, there are obstacles faced by teachers, namely limited technological capabilities and time utilization using audio-visual media. The use of audio- visual media in this modern era should be utilized more because it has been proven to improve student learning outcomes, this is proven by the results of observations and interviews with Indonesian language teachers at the Baharuddin Janji Mauli Muaratais Modern Islamic Boarding School. The use of audio-visual media aims to provide students with more understanding in writing descriptive texts through video and audio which can give students an idea of the object to be described. This research used a qualitative research methodology with Indonesian language teachers, school principals and class VII students at the Baharuddin Modern Islamic Boarding School as informants with a total of16 individuals. The results of the research showed that students were able to write descriptive texts well because they did not find it difficult to put words together and get ideas for writing so that after using audio-visual media, So it can be concluded that the use of audio visual media in learning to write descriptive text is effective.Keywords: Writing Descriptive Text; Audio Visual Media.

Abstract

Early childhood education is a very important initial stage in building a child's potential and character as a whole. At this age, intelligence development becomes the main factor that influences their success in the learning process and social interactions later in life. Therefore, understanding the factors that influence the intelligence of early childhood is very important so that the learning process can run optimally and in accordance with their development. This research aims to identify factors that influence the intelligence of early childhood at Elementary School (SD) 066 Soposorik Panyabungan Utara. The methodology used is a qualitative approach using observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies of students, teachers and parents. The research results show that family environmental factors, the role of teachers, and access to learning facilities contribute significantly to the development of children's intelligence. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration between families and schools in supporting the optimization of early childhood intelligence potential.  Key words: intelligence, early childhood, environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of lexical interference based on word classes in the Angkola Mandailing language towards Indonesian speech among the people of Tano Bato Village, Padang Sidempuan City, and the factors causing lexical interference of the Angkola Mandailing language towards Indonesian speech among the people of Tano Bato Village, Padang Sidempuan City. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The method used in collecting data for this study is listening, free conversation, recording and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method in this study begins with describing all forms of conversation that the author found in the lexical interference of the Angkola Mandailing language in Indonesian speech among the people of Tano Bato Village, Padang Sidempuan City in the process that occurred. The next step is grouping all data according to the criteria for the form of lexical interference, and finally the data reduction of the results of this study is as follows: it was found that there was lexical interference of the Angkola Mandailing language on Indonesian speech among the people of Tano Bato Village, Padang Sidempuan City in the form of noun classes (nouns) consisting of 24 data, verb classes (verbs) consisting of 30 data, adjective classes (adjectives) consisting of 26 data, numeral classes (numeralia) consisting of 7 data, adverb classes (adverbs) consisting of 7 data and pronoun classes (pronouns) consisting of 6 data. The factors causing lexical interference of the Angkola Mandailing language with Indonesian speech among the Tano Bato Village community in Padang Sidempuan City include the bilingualism of the speech participants and the carrying over of habits in the mother tongue.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the use of Audio-Visual method in enriching the vocabulary of students at grade VII MTs Muhammadiyah 04 Sibolga. The methods in this research are quantitative methods using pre-experimental designs as well as one group pretest and post-test. The subject of this research is a student of seventh grade who has only one class. The sample of this research involved 24 students. The instruments used in this research includepre-test, post-test and questionnaire. The results of this research show that the total pre-testaverage is 50,83 which is categorized as “poor”, while the post-test mean is 79,16 and is categorised as “good”. Based on data analysis, t-count values are higher than t-table values (11,737gt;2,012), meaning there is a significant difference. Therefore, H 0 is rejected and H 1 is accepted. The results of the questionnaire showed that the average percentage score of the questionnaire was 85.83% and was classified into the “very good” criteria. It shows that students positively responded to the Audio-Visual method. This research concludes that Audio-Visual method is effective to enrich students’ vocabulary.Keywords: Audio-Visual, Subtitled Video, Vocabulary

Abstract

This study is entitled "Language Politeness of Indonesian Language Education Study Program Studentst hrough Whatsapp Social Media." This study aims to describe the language politeness of students and language violations when communicating with lecturers via short messages or WhatsApp chat. This research method use qualitative descriptive method. The subjects used in this study were students in semesters II, IV, and VI of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Science and Teacher Training, Muhammadiyah University of South Tapanuli with atotal of 93 students. The data collection technique used in this study is the listening method followed by basic tapping techniques, advanced techniques, free listening techniques, classification and identification techniques. The listening method is carried out by listening, namely listening to the use of language contained in conversations between students and lecturers via WhatsApp media. The results of the study show that the level of language politeness of students when communicating with lecturers via WhatsApp chat media is obtained from50 data consisting of 36 compliance with language politeness and 14 violations of language politeness. The level of language politeness of students in the Indonesian Language Education Study Programat UMTS is stated to be politewitha percentage of compliance with language politeness of 72% and violations of language politeness of 28%.
