Abstract

This research consisted of two stages, namely the first stage of developing a CTL-based Physics module using Research and Development, through the ADDIE model approach, and the second stage of experimentation at MA Al-Ihsan Boarding School Riau. The experimental stage is to see the effect of using the developed module on improving students' critical thinking skills. The assessment of students' critical thinking skills used pretest and posttest critical thinking skills questions. Data analysis used SPSS Statistics 24 Software. The results of the module development research showed that the feasibility value by experts was 0.879 in the valid category. This shows that the CTL-based modules produced in this study are considered feasible to be used in learning Newton's Law material. The results of the experimental phase research show that there is a significant effect of the use of CTL-based modules on students' critical thinking skills. In the experimental class, critical thinking before treatment was 43.35, the low category increased to 84 good categories after treatment. Whereas in the control class critical thinking before treatment 39.4 low categories increased to 74 good categories after treatment. This means that the experimental class has further increased its critical thinking compared to the control class. The conclusion of this study is that the CTL-based Physics module on Newton's Law material is valid and the use of the developed module can improve students' critical thinking.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develope are cooperative model-based learning tools of TPS type with Quizizz learning media on global warming materials for high school XI students. The materials are consisting of Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheet (LKPD), and Learning Outcome Test. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with 4D model design. The research instruments used are rpp validation assessment sheets, LKPD, and Learning Results Tests used by validators to assess learning devices. The data analysis in this study uses descriptive analysis, by calculating the validity score of each learning device indicator. Based on the results of the analysis of validity data, the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) gets an average score of 3.07 (high), the Student Worksheet (LKPD) gets an average score of 3.16 (high) and the Learning Results Test gets an average score of 3.13 (high). Thus, tps-type cooperative model-based learning devices with Quizizz learning media are declared valid and feasible for use in global warming materials in grade XI SMA.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the need for teaching materials in the culinary arts vocational school which will be developed using the 4S TMD method. This research is based on the problem of not integrating chemistry subjects in supporting vocational subjects with culinary skills competence. So there are no teaching materials that are relevant to the competence of culinary expertise. The data collection instrument used was the relevance format between chemical content and vocational content. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were two lecturers of chemistry education, two teachers of applied science, and three teachers of productive culinary arts who acted as validators. The results of this study became the basis for researchers in developing chemistry books using the 4S TMD method on applied science teaching materials for chemistry relevant to vocational skills in culinary skills.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the classroom environment as a predominant factor affecting students' academic performance in Lagos State junior secondary schools, Nigeria. A sample size of 250 students was drawn using both purposive and simple random sampling techniques. The instruments used for data collection were a questionnaire titled “Classroom Environment Questionnaire and tagged (CEQ),” whose reliability coefficient was found to be 0.85, and an achievement test to measure the students’ academic performance. Findings from the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between class size and students' academic performance in public junior secondary schools (r =.829), a significant relationship exists between instructional material usage and students' academic performance in public junior secondary schools (r =.745), a significant relationship exists between school climate and students' academic performance in public junior secondary schools (r =.775), and a significant relationship exists between classroom organization and students' academic performance in public junior secondary schools in Lagos State (r =.925). It was recommended that to ensure efficient service delivery, or the teaching-learning process, the government, through the Education Districts, pledge to supply junior secondary schools with economically improved and pertinent instructional resources, as this would enhance students’ academic performance in schools.

Abstract

Bangladesh is crossing milestones in achieving sustainability in every sector and one of the most important sectors is the higher education sector. Thus, it is advisable to improve the quality of education in the environment by evaluating some parameters of service quality. This paper examines the quality of teaching in the higher education sector through continuing Professional Development (CPD) and examines the important role that teachers play in contributing to the development of the knowledge and values needed for teachers. However, since the study is on descriptive and analytical case studies and literature reviews based on reliable sources which shows that workshops and seminars are effective in most traditional modes has as proved to be insufficient for Coordination and evaluation of programs should be mandatory for professional development, which will help to maintain a positive environment with changing global situation. This paper identifies the definition, the dimension, the model, effectiveness, and types of CPD, the quality of service related to student satisfaction. The study helps to identify and assist in taking steps to address the lack of teaching quality whether teachers receive continuous professional development programs and whether such programs are adequate in our college.
