Abstract

With technological advances, digital-based learning resources are needed that can be studied by students independently. The results of the research can be used as a learning resource, one of which is in the form of a digital book. This study aims to determine the quality and feasibility of digital books compiled as learning resources. The type of research is research and development (R&D) which refers to the 4D development model (Define, Design, Development and Disseminate). Data collection techniques with instruments in the form of expert assessment questionnaires and response questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, biology teachers and 37 students of SMA N 1 Koba class XI. Product data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively to determine the quality and feasibility of the compiled digital book. The results of research and development (R&D) obtained a Digital Book product for high school students class XI bioprocess material. Product assessment by material experts 88.64% (very good), media experts 86.11% (very good), biology teacher experts 100% (very good). The results of the small-scale test of students were 94.29% (very good) and the large-scale test was 98% (very good). Results Based on this research, digital books are appropriate to be used as a learning resource for class XI cell bioprocess materials.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the results of the analysis of scientific literacy abilities of Indonesian students in chemistry learning. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which consists of five stages, namely question formulation, locating studies, study selection and evaluation, analysis and synthesis, reporting and using the results. Based on a study of 15 reputable journals indexed scopus (International Journal) and sinta (National Journal), the scientific literacy abilities of Indonesian students at the high school level and the education of prospective teachers are in the sufficient category, but there are still many who are in the low category. This is because students are not familiar with scientific literacy questions and learning which rarely trains individuals to make arguments based on observations or investigations, making it difficult for them to work on questions that require an analysis of existing scientific evidence or facts. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to improve scientific literacy skills through the application of learning models that train the ability to apply scientific knowledge that has been obtained in solving problems in everyday life. Problem-based learning models, ethnoscience-based learning, contextual-based guided inquiry learning, and also project-based learning.

Abstract

E-Booklet based on science literacy accompanied by mind mapping is a form of the diversity of learning products that can be aligned with the development of technology and information. The purpose of this study aimed to determine the feasibility, response, and readability of a science literacy-based e-booklet accompanied by mind mapping on human digestive system material. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model without the implementation phase. The research subjects included 31 students of class VIII-A and 13 students of class VIII-B. Based on the research that has been done, the average results of the media aspect feasibility test assessment were validity of 1 with a valid category, 92.2% reliability with a very reliable category, and a material aspect validity of 0.99 with a valid category, 100% reliability with a very reliable category. The results of the assessment of student responses and readability of the e-booklet obtained a very good category. It concluded that the use of science literacy-based e-booklets accompanied by mind mapping on human digestive system material is feasible to use in learning.

Abstract

Educational reform is a response to developments in global demands as an effort to adapt the education system to be able to develop human resources to meet the demands of the developing era. In order to be in accordance with its function and nature, ideally education should not be carried out haphazardly, but should be carried out wisely. Education includes activities carried out starting from planning, implementing activities, to evaluation and follow-up programs. The population in this study were all class X students at MA Hubbulwathan, Duri in the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 1 class. In this research the sample was selected using quasi-experimental research techniques (pseudo-experiments). After determining the sampling technique, in this study class X students were selected as samples from a population of one class. The results of the analysis show that assignment-based class improvement in the class is better in English subjects. Calculating the relative increase in class reached the conclusion that the proportionate rise in class was higher, namely 41.9% than on normal days. From the level of completeness of class learning that is based on assignments in class, it is better than that, where after conducting research, the results obtained were that in the experimental class of 26 students, 20 of them completed in learning effectively.

Abstract

Culturo-Techno-Contextual Approach (CTCA) is a culturally responsive teaching strategy that empowers African students to learn science meaningfully in the digital age. CTCA integrates culture, technology, and locational context to enhance students' comprehension of scientific concepts. This study examined the effectiveness of CTCA in reducing students learning anxiety towards science concept. A pretest-posttest, non-equivalent group design was adopted. The sample comprised 121 senior secondary II students (equivalent to grade 11) from two purposively selected schools in Lagos State. The Nutrition Anxiety Scale, which had a reliability coefficient of 0.70, was used data collection. The treatment period lasted four weeks following the pretest. The experimental group was taught using the CTCA, while the control group received conventional lecture-based instruction. The results revealed that those students who were taught using the culturo-techno-contextual approach had a significantly lower level of anxiety than the comparison group [F (1, 198) = 16.54; p < 0.05]. A statistically significant difference was not found based on gender [F(1,49)=.49; P >0.05]. Therefore, within the limitations of this study, it was concluded that CTCA is an effective teaching approach for lowering anxiety towards science. It is recommended that CTCA be adopted in teaching scientific concepts.

Abstract

This research aims to develop multimedia-based interactive module teaching materials. This research uses the method Research and Development (R&D), a 4D model developed by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel which includes the definition stage, design stage, development stage and deployment stage. Data was collected from the assessments of 5 experts through expert validation sheets and responses from 38 students through student response questionnaires. Data analysis uses quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of the research show that the interactive module teaching materials are suitable for learning in Basic Accounting subjects from material experts with valid categories and the results of product trials, it is known that the interactive module teaching materials are effective in increasing students' learning independence, especially in the basic accounting equation material in vocational school. The students' positive response to the use of this interactive module teaching material, the majority of students stated that it was useful and at the same time could increase their learning independence, especially in the basic accounting equations material.

Abstract

The student's final assignment is proof of the success of the process of achieving academic achievement. However, in the completion process, students often experience various obstacles both from within and outside themselves. These obstacles cause students to experience Quarter Life Crisis (QLC). Self-awareness can help them understand themselves completely, both in terms of nature, character and emotions so they are able to face QLC. This research aims to find out how much influence self-awareness has on QLC experienced by Biology Education students at FKIP (Faculty of Education and Teacher Traning), Universitas Riau. To achieve this goal, descriptive research was carried out using a survey method. The results of the research show that the self-awareness and QLC level of Biology Education students at FKIP Universitas Riau are both classified as medium. The level of self-awareness has a negative effect. These findings indicate that efforts are still needed to increase self-awareness of Biology Education students at FKIP Universitas Riau. This can be achieved by getting students into the habit of carrying out regular self-evaluations so that they can find out their strengths and weaknesses. If these efforts are achieved, students' QLC levels are expected to decrease.

Abstract

Science comic based on auvidi media are rarely applied in science learning. Based on the result of pre-research at SMP Al Hikam Kemayoran students consider that learning science is very difficult and boring due to the lack of use of learning media. The solution given is to develop science comics based on auvidi media on global warming materials. This development research aims to determine the feasibility, readability, and students responses to the media. This study uses the ADDIE development model. This research was conducted at SMP Al Hikam Kemayoran class VII with 34 students. The sampling method is a saturated sample technique for class VII students. Data collection techniques use interviews, quesrionnaires, and documentation. The results of the media feasibility validation obtained an average result of 0,98, while the material eligibility validation obtained an average of 0,83 as very valid. The readability percentage obtained an average score 83,50% and student respons obtained an average score of 88,88% in the very good category.
