Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) faces the challenge of fostering learning that goes beyond mere mastery of religious knowledge to cultivate critical, contextual, and adaptive thinking skills capable of keeping pace with advancements in science and technology. This article aims to analyze and formulate a multidisciplinary concept for PAI content grounded in the integration of reason and revelation as an epistemological foundation to guide the development of learning materials. The study employs a qualitative approach, specifically library research. Data were gathered from the Qur'an, Hadith, scholarly books, accredited national and reputable international journal articles, and various literature concerning Islamic education, the integration of knowledge, and multidisciplinary approaches. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis, involving stages of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that the integration of reason and revelation serves as an epistemological foundation capable of eliminating the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences in the development of PAI content. A multidisciplinary approach enables PAI material to be developed holistically by integrating various disciplines such as tafsir (exegesis), Hadith, fiqh (jurisprudence), philosophy, psychology, sociology, history, science, technology, and environmental science. Reconstructing the material in this way results in learning that is more contextual and meaningful, while also fostering 21st-century competencies including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy alongside the formation of Islamic character.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed many aspects of education, including at the elementary school level. A common problem in classrooms is low student learning motivation due to teaching methods that lack student engagement. This study aims to examine the role of digital learning media in improving elementary school students' learning motivation using a literature review method. The data sources used were twelve national scientific journal articles published between 2023 and 2026, which discussed various types of digital learning media, such as digital interactive boards or smartboards, learning videos, PowerPoint presentations, and the interactive quiz application Quizizz. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that digital learning media has a positive impact on elementary school students' learning motivation, both internally and externally, by increasing attention, active engagement, self-confidence, and creating a pleasant learning atmosphere. However, its effectiveness still depends on the limitations of technological infrastructure, teachers' digital readiness and skills, and the risk of dependency and overstimulation in students. This study recommends continued teacher training and equitable distribution of technological infrastructure to optimize the use of digital media in learning.

Abstract

Cyberbullying is a well-established risk factor for adolescent mental health, yet the evidence base underpinning this conclusion is drawn overwhelmingly from high-income settings. Timor-Leste, the Asian country with the youngest population structure and one undergoing rapid digital expansion, is represented in no prevalence or outcome study of cyberbullying whatsoever. This review synthesises evidence on the association between cyberbullying victimisation and adolescent mental health in Timor-Leste and comparable lower-middle-income Southeast Asian settings, and characterises the structure of the resulting evidence gap. A systematic literature review with narrative synthesis was conducted across nine international databases, three regional databases, and six grey-literature repositories, covering publications from January 2005 to June 2026 without language restriction. No study reporting cyberbullying prevalence or cyberbullying-related mental health outcomes among Timorese adolescents was identified. Timor-Leste is represented solely by five secondary analyses of the 2015 Global School-based Student Health Survey, which recorded an offline bullying prevalence of 28.0% and an independent association between bullying victimisation and attempted suicide (AOR = 2.69, 95% CI [1.02, 7.12]). This absence of evidence is traceable to a specific and correctable instrumentation decision, namely the omission of cyberbullying items from the national survey instrument, rather than to an absence of risk. Timor-Leste satisfies every structural precondition for cyberbullying to constitute a public health problem, while its mental health workforce stands at approximately three professionals per 100,000 population. The priority action indicated is the inclusion of validated cyberbullying items in the next national school health survey cycle, preceded by the development of a Tetun-language measurement instrument.

Abstract

Students' mathematical reasoning in solving geometry problems is significantly influenced by their spatial ability; however, an in-depth qualitative description of the relationship between these two variables remains scarce at the junior high school level. This study aims to describe the mathematical reasoning of junior high school students in solving flat-faced three-dimensional geometry problems, categorized by their spatial ability (high, moderate, and low). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved eight ninth-grade students from SMP Islam Klojen Lumajang as subjects. Participants were selected using spatial ability and mathematical reasoning tests, followed by observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity established via technique and source triangulation. The findings revealed a tiered pattern: students with low spatial ability exhibited mechanical-procedural reasoning; those with moderate ability demonstrated situational reasoning (proficient in concrete contexts but deficient in abstract problems); and students with high spatial ability displayed reflective and consistent reasoning across all indicators. In conclusion, a higher degree of spatial ability corresponds to a more mature mathematical reasoning profile. Consequently, geometry instruction should be hierarchically designed to accommodate students' varying levels of spatial ability.

Abstract

The video raises the issue of corruption as a social problem that has a wide impact on society and is conveyed through a comedic style that contains satire on the reality of law enforcement in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze social criticism in the Bintang Emon stand-up comedy video with the theme of corruption on Instagram using Teun A. van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research data was in the form of speech in one Bintang Emon stand-up comedy video with the theme of corruption uploaded on @bintangemon's Instagram account. Data was obtained through the technique of watching and recording by observing the content of the video, then analyzed using the Teun A. van Dijk Critical Discourse Analysis model which includes macro structures, superstructures, microstructures, social cognition, and social context. The validity of the data was tested using the theory triangulation technique by comparing the results of the analysis based on the concept of Critical Discourse Analysis by Teun A. van Dijk and the theory of social criticism. The results of the study showed that the video contained social criticism of corrupt practices which were described as a form of state erosion that benefited a few people and harmed the wider community. In the macro structure, the main theme was found in the form of the importance of eradicating corruption. In the superstructure, the discourse is arranged through opening, development, and closing that builds a humorous effect as well as sarcasm. In the microstructure, the use of diction, sentence forms, and language styles strengthens the message of social criticism.

Abstract

Abstract Deep learning is an approach applied within the *Kurikulum Merdeka* (Independent Curriculum) to foster mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. This study aims to describe the implementation of deep learning—specifically regarding lesson planning, instructional delivery, and the alignment between the two—in an Indonesian language class for Grade XI Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) students at SMK NU 1 Kedungpring. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with the Grade XI TKJ Indonesian language teacher serving as the subject. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, documentation, and an analysis of teaching modules, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the characteristics of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning were integrated into lesson planning through the formulation of learning objectives, the use of provocative (inquiry-based) questions, and the design of learning and reflection activities. During instruction, these three characteristics were realized by communicating learning objectives, conducting activities that focused student attention, facilitating discussion and collaboration, connecting material to students' experiences, and creating an active, comfortable learning atmosphere. The alignment between planning and implementation was rated as good, as the majority of activities outlined in the teaching modules were successfully carried out in the classroom. However, certain indicators were not optimally implemented, specifically providing opportunities for all students to offer in-depth responses, integrating the material with the professional context of Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ), and adapting instruction to specific classroom conditions.
