Abstract

Modernism and puritanism in Islam are two approaches that have had a significant influence on the development of Muslim religious thought and practice. Modernism in Islam refers to a movement that aims to interpret religious teachings in accordance with the context of the times, emphasizing rationality, science, and openness to social change. The movement often sought to bridge traditional values with the demands of modernity, giving birth to figures such as Muhammad Abduh and Jamaluddin al-Afghani who pushed for educational, legal and social reforms. In contrast, puritanism in Islam focuses on purifying religious teachings from practices that are considered deviant or bid'ah, and returning to the primary sources, namely the Qur'an and Sunnah. Puritanism is often associated with movements that emphasize literality in understanding religious texts and reject outside cultural influences that are considered to undermine the purity of Islam. An example of a puritanical movement is Wahhabism that developed in the Arabian Peninsula. These two approaches often interact dynamically, both in the form of dialog and conflict, in an effort to find the best format to maintain the relevance of Islam in the modern era. This research analyzes the ideological roots, main figures, and practical implications of modernism and puritanism in shaping Muslim religious identity. By understanding these two movements, it is hoped to create a broader insight in managing the diversity of perspectives in Islam, so that it can be the basis for the development of inclusive and progressive Islamic thought.

Abstract

This research discusses the importance of understanding students' learning styles as a key to personalizing education. Learning styles, which can be divided into three main categories: visual, auditory and kinesthetic, affect the way students absorb and understand information. Students with visual learning styles find it easier to understand material through vision, auditory students are more effective in learning through their hearing, while students with kinesthetic learning styles are more prominent in physical activities and hands-on interactions. This research emphasizes the need for educators to recognize and adapt teaching methods to students' learning preferences to improve engagement, motivation and academic outcomes. It also discusses the challenges in implementing personalized learning, such as the difficulty in identifying the right learning style and the risk of over-focusing on a particular learning style. The method in this research uses literature review by analyzing existing data regarding learning styles and their implications for personalized learning. Thus, this research is expected to provide insights for educators in designing teaching strategies that are more effective and responsive to students' individual needs

Abstract

Social and cultural change is an inevitable phenomenon in an evolving society. In the context of Indonesia, this transformation is often driven by factors such as globalization, technological advancements, and cross-cultural interactions. This study aims to analyze how social and cultural changes impact community identity, both positively and negatively. Using a qualitative approach, the research collected data through interviews and observations of various community groups across several regions. The findings reveal that while social and cultural changes can enrich community identity by introducing new values, they also pose risks of losing valuable local traditions and identity. Therefore, it is crucial for communities to balance embracing change with preserving local culture to maintain the diversity and richness of national identity.

Abstract

E-Book merupakan salah satu bahan ajar berbasis digital yang dapat memuat berbagai macam didalamnya seperti teks, gambar, audio, maupun video. Pada saat peneliti melakukan observasi, peneliti menemukan permasalahan seperti siswa kurang berminat dalam membaca modul, dan tidak adanya jawaban didalam modul dari tugas yang diberikan oleh guru. Oleh karena itu, dengan adanya permasalahan ini peneliti ingin melakukan penelitian tentang apakah dengan penerapan E-Book dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada pembelajaran SKI. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk melihat apakah dengan penerapan E-Book dapat meningkatkan minat belajar belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran SKI di MTS Al-Mumtaz Palangka Raya. penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan bentuk penelitian pre-eksperimental design. Hasil dari penelitian menujukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan terhadap minat belajar siswa setelah penerapan E-Book sebesar 80%.

Abstract

Education is one of the main pillars in shaping a quality generation capable of facing future challenges. In Indonesia, educational challenges such as low quality, lack of job-relevant skills, and character issues among the youth require comprehensive solutions. One potential approach is the integration of formal education and pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). Formal education focuses on intellectual development and technical skills, while pesantren play a crucial role in shaping the character and spirituality of students. The synergy between the two can produce individuals who are not only academically intelligent but also possess strong character and are globally competitive. This study aims to explore how the integration of formal education and pesantren can shape a golden generation that is competent, virtuous, and adaptable to the changing times. A qualitative approach was used to analyze the implementation of this educational integration at SMAS Al-Hikmah 2, which has successfully combined these two systems. The findings indicate that the integration of formal education and pesantren can enrich students' learning experiences, optimally develop their potential, and shape an excellent generation in both academic and character aspects. This synergy is expected to support Indonesia's goal of achieving the "Golden Generation 2045," a generation that is intelligent, virtuous, and ready to contribute to national development

Abstract

Abstract

One of the subjects that students do not interest is mathematics. Several factors that cause this case, one of which is the monotonous learning process so that students feel that mathematics is a difficult and boring subject. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) that has purpose at identifying of improving student learning outcomes in Mathematics subjects by using wordwall media in class V at SD Negeri 241 Palembang. There are 28 students in class V.A who are the subjects of the study, consisting of 15 females and 13 males. Data collection was carried out by observation, tests, and documentation. For this study, two cycles were carried out, in which each cycle showed differences in the learning outcomes that students displayed in the learning process before and after using wordwall media. Based on this study, the results obtained were that the application of technology-based learning media "wordwall" can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects and create a pleasant atmosphere during the learning process in class V.A SD Negeri 241 Palembang.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of behavioristic theory in education and identify its challenges and effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. Behavioristic theory, which focuses on the relationship between stimulus and response, explains that individual behavior can be modified through positive and negative reinforcement. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations. The results indicate that while this theory is effective in shaping desired behaviors, there are challenges related to neglecting internal factors such as students' emotions and motivation. This research recommends integrating positive aspects of behavioristic theory with a more holistic approach to meet students' emotional and social needs

Abstract

This research discusses educational philosophy in the context of Islamic education, by highlighting Harold Titus' critical thinking about the nature of existence and life. Islamic education integrates the principles of this philosophy through the concepts of at-Tarbiyah, at-Ta'lim, and at-Ta'dib, which include cognitive, emotional and spiritual development. At-Tarbiyah emphasizes character formation through various methods such as modeling and habits, while at-Ta'lim focuses on the transfer of knowledge which also develops moral character. At-Ta'dib integrates knowledge and morality to form socially and ethically responsible individuals. This research emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in Islamic education to form individuals who are academically competent and have noble character.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of children's learning can be caused by several factors. One of them is that the lack of teachers' role in the learning process at school can cause children's understanding to decrease. Teachers have a big responsibility for the continuity of the learning process at school. Whether we realize it or not, we see that apart from equipment and everything else related to educational success and educational goals, it is the teacher's personality that determines the success of learning. So that there is no indifference and forced obedience from students, teachers need to continue to improve their personal abilities and how to be learning partners for their students and develop good character so that they can become role models for their students.
