AIM Kontemplasi : Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Ushuluddin aims to strengthen transdisciplinary perspective on issues related to Islam and Muslim societies. Abstract

Pesantren not only functions as a place to teach religious knowledge, but also plays an important role in efforts to preserve the environment as part of the responsibility of the pesantren itself. One of the pesantren that pays great attention to the issue of environmental conservation is PP. Annuqayah Lubangsa, Guluk-guluk, Sumenep, Madura. This research attempts to answer two things, firstly, the Annuqayah Lubangsa Islamic Boarding School in responding to the phenomenon of environmental crisis. Second, the model of religious ecocentrism movement carried out by Annuqayah Lubangsa Islamic Boarding School. This research looks at the efforts of pesantren in environmental conservation through the analytical framework of religious ecocentrism. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data that has been obtained is then analysed using data reduction, display, and verification. The results of this study show that the response of PP. Annuqayah Lubangsa's response to ecological phenomena stems from the history that in the pesantren environmental issues have become the teachings of previous caregivers and the caregiver's appeal to a concern about the increasingly worrying problem of accumulating garbage in the pesantren environment, giving birth to an environmental conservation movement, as well as a form of santri's responsibility as caliphs on earth. Second, the religious ecocentrism movement model carried out by the Annuqayah Lubangsa pesantren was pursued through various methods. Pesantren tidak hanya sekadar berfungsi sebagai tempat pengajaran ilmu keagamaan, melainkan juga berperan penting dalam upaya melestarikan lingkungan hidup sebagai bagian dari tanggung jawab pesantren itu sendiri. Salah satu pesantren yang menaruh atensi besar pada persoalan pelestarian lingkungan hidup adalah PP. Annuqayah Lubangsa, Guluk-guluk, Sumenep, Madura. Penelitian ini hendak berupaya menjawab dua hal, yakni pertama Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah Lubangsa dalam merespons fenomena krisis lingkungan. Kedua, model gerakan ekosentrisme religius yang dilakukan Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah Lubangsa. Penelitian ini melihat upaya pesantren dalam pelestarian lingkungan melalui kerangka analisis ekosentrisme religius. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan reduksi, display, dan verifikasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa respons PP. Annuqayah Lubangsa terhadap fenomena ekologis bermula dari sejarah bahwa di pesantren tersebut isu lingkungan sudah menjadi ajaran pengasuh terdahulu serta adanya himbauan pengasuh terhadap suatu keresahan akan adanya persoalan penumpukan sampah yang kian mengkhawatirkan di lingkungan pesantren, hingga melahirkan gerakan konservasi lingkungan, sekaligus sebagai bentuk tanggungjawab santri sebagai khalifah di muka bumi. Kedua, Model gerakan ekosentrisme religius yang dilakukan pesantren Annuqayah Lubangsa ditempuh melalui berbagai cara, mulai dari membangun jejaring dengan pihak-pihak yang kompeten dalam konservasi lingkungan yang termanifestasi dalam bentuk sekolah ekologi di Desa Panggungharjo, Sewon, Bantul, DIY; mendirikan laboratorium sampah UPT Jatian; hingga kampanye ekologis. Gerakan ekosentrisme religius ini terbukti membawa pengaruh yang cukup signifikan bagi berbagai pihak, terutama bagi beberapa pesantren dan instansi pendidikan lainnya, baik dari Kabupaten Sumenep maupun luar itu sendiri.

Abstract

Penafsiran al-Qur’an telah mengalami berbagai pendekatan sepanjang sejarah, salah satunya ialah pendekatan rasional yang bertujuan untuk menjembatani pemahaman agama dengan pemikiran modern. Muhammad Asad, seorang mufassir kontemporer, mencoba menafsirkan al-Qur’an dengan cara yang lebih rasional agar dapat diterima oleh masyarakat Barat yang mengandalkan logika dalam memahami konsep keagamaan. Artikel ini berfokus pada penafsiran Muhammad Asad dalam The Message of the Qur’an terkait dengan mukjizat nabi Ibrahim, yang menafsirkan hal yang diluar nalar secara alegoris atau simbolis, dan menekankan pada aspek moral. Artikel ini mengkaji pendekatan Asad dengan metode deskriptif-analitis, membandingkannya dengan tafsir klsik, serta menilai implikasi dari metode rasional yang digunakannya. Artikel ini menelaah kritik terhadap tafsir Muhammad Asad serta membandingkannya dengan sumber-sumber tafsir arus utama. Artikel ini berargumen bahwa tafsir yang dikaji mampu bertahan dari kritik yang diterimanya dan tetap layak dianggap sebagai salah satu yang terbaik dalam bidangnya.

Abstract

Artikel ini menguraikan kajian tokoh utama dalam kisah Nabi Ayyub a.s yang ditelaah melalui Tafsir Nusantara dan kemudian dikaji melalui teori psikologi humanistik Abraham Maslow. Kisah Nabi Ayyub a.s. merupakan salah satu bentuk karya sastra yang bersumber dari Al-Qur'an. Kisah Nabi Ayyub yang terdapat dalam surah al-Anbiya': 83-84 memiliki kepribadian yang kuat dan tidak mudah mengeluh, yang menjadi kunci untuk mencapai aktualisasi diri. Kepribadian beliau menarik untuk dikaji dengan teori psikologi humanistik Abraham Maslow. Teori ini merupakan salah satu teori psikologi kepribadian yang mengusulkan lima tingkatan kebutuhan manusia, mulai dari kebutuhan dasar hingga kebutuhan puncak. Penelitian Menggunakan metode kepustakaan (library research) serta deskriptif analitis untuk menjelaskan makna aktualisasi diri surah al-Anbiya’: 83-84 yang tertuang dalam tafsir Nusantara ditinjau dari prespektif teori psikologi humanistik Abraham Maslow, serta integrasi dari keduanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktualisasi diri dalam Surah Al-Anbiya’ ayat 83-84, berdasarkan tafsir Nusantara, mencerminkan iman, kesabaran, syukur, penerimaan takdir, dan penghambaan kepada Allah. Dalam teori psikologi humanistik Abraham Maslow, yang mencakup kebutuhan fisiologis hingga aktualisasi diri, hal ini terwujud dalam kepribadian Nabi Ayyub melalui nilai-nilai spiritual seperti ketaatan, kesabaran, dan pengabdian tulus. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kelima hierarki kebutuhan yang terdapat dalam teori psikologi humanistik Abraham Maslow terpenuhi dalam kepribadian Nabi Ayyub a.s, baik tercermin dalam perjalanan maupun interaksi sosial yang terjadi selama hidupnya. Kelima kebutuhan tersebut adalah kebutuhan fisiologis, kebutuhan rasa aman, kebutuhan kasih sayang, kebutuhan penghargaan, dan kebutuhan aktualisasi diri.

Abstract

The phenomenon of unrestricted dating after engagement has sparked a critical debate within Islamic thought concerning the enforcement of Sharia law. Society perceives dating after engagement as a means to better understand each other to prevent divorce, alongside the assumption that khitbah is considered a permissible form of dating. Based on this issue, the researcher aims to re-examine the interpretation of khitbah in the Qur'an. The method employed is qualitative, categorized under library research, utilizing documentation techniques with historical analysis. The findings of this study indicate that Islam encourages its followers to marry as a means of safeguarding themselves from sinful acts and fulfilling the principles of sunnatullah. Marriage in Islam is regarded as a form of worship aimed at creating a harmonious, loving, and respectful family. The practice of unrestricted dating after khitbah or engagement is seen as deviating from the Islamic purpose of marriage. Commitment to Sharia and adherence to religious boundaries are key in the process of establishing a legitimate relationship. Therefore, preserving honor and following religious guidance in premarital relationships represent a Muslim's responsibility in upholding Islamic values and Sharia law.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengupas gender dan akademia, diskrimiansi dan revitalisasi organisasi penghayat kepercayaan serta posisi mereka di tengah masyarakat. Artikel ini berargumen bahwa, kendati berada pada posisi terdiskriminasi, keluarga Penghayat mampumelestarikan ajaran luhur kepada generasi berikutnya sangat ditentukan oleh kemampuan perempuan. Banyak keluarga yang terbukti mampu mewariskan nilai luhur kepada anak-anak mereka dengan mengandaikan kekuatan perempuan. Kemampuan perempuan dalam menjalankan tugas pengasuhan dan sosialisasi, menjadi faktor kunci dalam melestarikan ajaran luhur mereka kepada generasi berikutnya. Keberadaan kelompok Penghayat yang terbukti ditentukan oleh peran perempuan dalam menjaga dan merawat ajaran luhur mereka. Keberadaan perempuan telah menjadi faktor penting bagi organisasi Penghayat dalam mengkonsolidasikan diri, kekuatan soft power perempuan telah menjadi faktor kunci pelestarian komunitas dan ajaran luhurnya.

Abstract

Abstract Nowadays, women leadership has become a much-discussed topic. However, in practice, it still leaves many gaps that need to be continuously improved and applied on a large scale. Society's restrictive perspective on leadership, which insists that it must be carried out by men, is a product of centuries of indoctrination by patriarchal culture, continually reproduced by various groups, including religious authorities. Islamic legal products are the result of interpretations of Quranic verses, so if bias exists in the interpretation process, biases will also manifest in legal products and the general understanding of society. To gain a new perspective in understanding leadership, this research aims to explore the shift in the meaning of 'qawwamun' by examining the viewpoints of two Quranic commentators whose works are interconnected but produce two different perspectives, allowing us to conclude that there has been a change in their ideological stance Keywords: Women Leadership, Semiotic, Intertextuality. Abstrak Dewasa ini kepemimpinan perempuan telah menjadi sebuah topik yang banyak dibicarakan, namun pada taraf praksisnya, ia masih menyisakan amat banyak celah-celah untuk terus diperbaiki dan diterapkan secara masif. Keterkungkungan cara pandang masyarakat atas kepemimpinan dengan mengharuskan penerapannya dilaksanakan oleh lelaki, merupakan buah dari doktrinasi berabad abad oleh budaya patriarki, yang terus direproduksi oleh berbagai macam kalangan, dan tak luput dari kalangan otoritatif keagamaan. Produk hukum dalam agama Islam merupakan buah dari penafsiran atas ayat-ayat Alquran, maka apabila sudah terdapat bias sejak dalam upaya menafsirkan ayat, maka akan lahir pula bias-bias pada produk hukum dan pola pemahaman masyarakat umum. Guna mendapat sudut pandang baru dalam memaknai pemimpin, maka dalam penelitian ini akan diupayakan untuk mencari pergeseran makna qawwamun dengan melihat sudut pandang dua orang mufassir yang karya tafsirnya saling berkaitan, namun memunculkan dua sudut pandang yang berbeda, serta dapat ditarik kesimpulan telah terdapat ideologem yang berubah dari keduanya. Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan Perempuan, Semiotik, Intertekstualitas.

Abstract

Santren is the name of a place that has been used as a center for religious teaching in Sasak society for a long time. This article critiques the contemporary lack of attention toward Santren as the earliest institution for Islamic education among the Sasak people. Furthermore, it explores the genealogy of Santren as a space for mental and spiritual cultivation since Islam became the official religion of the Selaparang kingdom.. Based on the theoretical basis of genealogy from Michel Foucault, this research was conducted by exploring historical data, criticizing phenomena and reality, with a new ethnographic approach in the form of self-reflexifity and truthfulness. The results of the author's findings revealed that the genealogy of Santren as a place of religious teaching was practiced from the early Islamic era in the Kingdom of Selaparang that receive Islam as the religion of Sasak community. Then, when the troops of Karangasem Kingdom, Bali reached the Kingdom of Selaparang, Santren turned in the basis of resistence, and also against Dutch, and Japan in colonialism era which centered in guru ngaji (qur’anic teachers) as the actor. Then, after the Independence of Indonesia, form of resistence transform against ignorance, backwardness, and poverty.

Abstract

This article examines the epistemology of Tafsir As-Salām by Asmaji Mukhtar, with particular attention to the integration of ‘ulūm al-Qur’an and contemporary socio-religious realities. The study responds to a gap in modern Qur’anic exegesis scholarship, which has largely emphasized methodological and thematic aspects while paying insufficient attention to the epistemological foundations underpinning interpretive practices. Employing a qualitative approach based on library research, this study utilizes content analysis, critical discourse analysis, and contextual hermeneutics. The data are analyzed through thematic as well as symbolic–conceptual analysis of Tafsir As-Salām alongside classical and contemporary exegetical literature. The findings demonstrate that Tafsir As-Salām articulates an integrative epistemology of Qur’anic interpretation that dialogically and responsibly synthesizes naqli sources, ‘aqli reasoning, and empirical social realities. This tafsir not only preserves the authority of classical ‘ulūm al-Qur’an but also actualizes them in addressing contemporary issues such as pluralism, tolerance, peacebuilding, and the relationship between religion and science. Through its symbolic interpretive approach and ethical–transformative orientation, Tafsir As-Salām emerges as a model of moderate and contextually responsive Qur’anic exegesis. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of Nusantara tafsir epistemology by proposing a normative–contextual paradigm that bridges classical tradition and the challenges of modernity.

Abstract

The Double Movement approach developed by Fazlur Rahman has become one of the contemporary hermeneutical models that attempts to bridge the normative message of the Qur’an with the needs of modern society. This idea has been extensively researched in academic literature, both in terms of theory, application, and criticism. However, systematic mapping of research trends discussing the Double Movement is still rare. Through a descriptive quantitative approach and bibliometric analysis, as well as entering the keywords “Double movement AND Fazlur Rahman AND Hermeneutic,” this study analyzes the development of academic studies related to Fazlur Rahman’s Double Movement approach in the Google Scholar database during the period 1992 to 2025. A total of 159 valid publications were analyzed using Publish or Perish and VOSviewer to identify publication trends, citation patterns, author networks, and thematic structures. The results of this study show that there has been significant growth in publications over the last two decades, with the highest number of publications peaking in 2025 (37 publications), indicating sustained and increasing academic interest. This study contributes to providing an intellectual map of the development of Fazlur Rahman-s Double Movement studies, while also offering a foundation for further research in exploring the theoretical and practical analysis of this method. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to enrich contemporary interpretations and broaden methodological perspectives in Qur’anic studies.

Abstract

This study critiques the reproduction of neoliberal ideology within Timothy Ronald’s financial content on YouTube using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). By examining three dimensions-text, discourse practice, and social practice-the analysis of his most popular videos reveals the use of mechanistic metaphors, casual linguistic styles, and personal success narratives to establish authority. The findings show that such content effectively constructs neoliberal subjects (homo economicus) by emphasizing absolute individual responsibility, reducing poverty to a moral failing, and disregarding structural factors. Ultimately, this discourse reinforces the dominance of market logic over all aspects of individual life in the digital era.
