Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyimpangan bahasa yang dilakukan murid kepada gurunya di sekolah dasar. Kajian ini menerapkan metode kualitatif. Data penelitian yang digunakan berupa tuturan antara murid kepada guru di kelas VI berupa pelanggaran maksim ketidaksopanan di SDI Mabdaul Falah. Adapun tahapan-tahapan pengumpulan data sebagai berikut: (1) mengumpulkan data yang sesuai (2) mereduksi data yang relevan (3) menyajikan data (4) menarik kesimpulan. Penelitian ini memastikan analisis dilakukan secara menyeluruh dan relevan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan enam temuan maksim yaitu: (1) kebijaksanaan (2) kedermawanan (3) penghargaan (4) kesederhanaan (5) permufakatan (6) kesimpatisan. Peneliti mengklasifikasi dan menyaring dalam setiap maksim ada dua contoh data serta pemaparannya. Jadi, total peneliti memperoleh sebanyak 12 data dari 6 maksim.Berdasarkan permasalahan yang telah dikaji. Hasil penelitian ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam dunia pendidikan, khususnya dalam pembentukan karakter dan etika berbahasa murid di sekolah dasar. Ditemukannya pelanggaran terhadap enam maksim kesantunan menunjukkan perlunya perhatian lebih dari guru, orang tua, dan pembuat kebijakan pendidikan terhadap pembelajaran etika komunikasi sejak dini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai penguatan pendidikan karakter jujur yang terdapat dalam novel Mariposa karya Luluk HF. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan didaktis, pendekatan didaktis adalah suatu pendekatan yang berusaha menemukan dan memahami gagasan, tanggapan evaluatif maupun sikap pengarang terhadap kehidupan, filosofis, maupun agamis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, ungkapan, kalimat, dan, Tindakan yang mengandung nilai penguatan pendidikan karakter. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Mariposa karya Luluk HF yang berjumlah 482 halaman yang diterbitkan oleh Coconut Books pada tahun 2018. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan atau studi pustaka. Peneliti sebagai instrumen penelitian, peneliti memeriksa representasi nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel Mariposa karya Luluk HF dengan menggunakan teori Peraturan Presiden Nomor 87 Tahun 2017 Tentang Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter. Perpres 2017 menetapkan 5 nilai pendidikan karakter. 5 nilai penguatan pendidikan itu adalah religiusitas, nasionalisme, gotong royong, kemandirian, dan integritas (jujur). Hasil penelitian pada novel Mariposa karya Luluk HF penulis menemukan 18 representasi nilai pendidikan karakter jujur (integritas). Nilai penguatan pendidikan karakter jujur (integritas) itu sendiri adalah konsisten dalam memegang prinsip moral dan etika, serta bertanggung jawab atas segala tindakan yang diperbuat.

Abstract

This study explores adolescents' speech and language dynamics in the context of online gaming from a psycholinguistic perspective. Linguistic variation in this digital space is viewed as a unique reflection of cognitive processes, language production, and social affiliations. The primary objective is to analyze how adolescents construct, process, and use non-standard language, slang, and code-switching and code-mixing patterns for effective communication and the construction of group identity in a fast-paced gaming environment. The case study method used was a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from participant observation of game interactions and in-depth interviews with adolescent participants (aged 15–20 years). Data were transcribed and analyzed using a social psycholinguistic framework, focusing on aspects of language production and comprehension (language processing), as well as lexical variation. The results show that adolescent speech is dominated by extreme lexical creativity, including novel slang, acronyms, and game-specific lexis. This phenomenon serves as a marker of cognitive processing speed and social boundaries. Code-switching and code-mixing patterns, especially between Indonesian and English, frequently occur for time efficiency and emotional expression. Psycholinguistic, these dynamics reflect high linguistic flexibility and rapid cognitive adaptation to real-time communication. The study concludes that the online gaming world plays a vital role as a language incubation arena, providing in-depth insights into the mechanisms of adolescent language adaptation in the evolution of digital communication.

Abstract

Previous studies on speech acts in films have mainly focused on classification, with limited attention to their role in constructing emotional meaning and interpersonal relationships. Therefore, this study aims to identify the types of illocutionary acts used by the main characters in the film A Star is Born (2018) and to analyze their communicative purpose based on Searle’s (1985) classification, particularly in relation to character development and emotional dynamics. A total ofeleven utterances were selected and categorized into four types of illocutionary acts: assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive. Declarative acts were not found due to the absence of institutional context within the narrative. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method to select eleven utterances as representative data to answer two research questions about the types and functions of the utterances used. The findings show that assertive acts are the most dominant type, primarily used to express beliefs, personal experiences, and emotional states, thereby contributing to the development of mutual understanding between characters. Directive acts function to influence actions and encourage decision-making, often appearing in moments of tension or support. Commissive acts reflect commitments that strengthen trust, while expressive acts convey emotions such as love, pride, and sadness, reinforcing emotional intimacy. Overall, illocutionary acts play a crucial role in shaping character relationships and driving emotional development within the fil’s narrative. By providing an understanding of how language can provide meaning in written conversations while evoking emotional feelings, this research is expected to contribute to the field of pragmatics and media discourse.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison between code-mixing and code-switching in two YouTube videos by the same creator when discussing national and international figures. The research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with the support of interpretative qualitative analysis within the framework of digital sociolinguistics. The data consist of utterances in the two videos, which were fully transcribed, then identified and classified based on linguistic units and their frequency of occurrence was counted. The results of the study show that the video discussing international figures exhibits the frequency of English code-mixing nearly three times higher, with 85 instances, compared to the video discussing national figures, which had 28 instances. Structurally, both videos are dominated by word-level code-mixing. These findings indicate that language choice in digital media functions as a symbolic strategy in representing both global and local identities. English functions as a symbolic capital reflecting a cosmopolitan orientation, while Indonesian represents domestic cultural solidarity. Abstract

This study looks at the pragmatics functions of swearing in Matt Rife's stand-up comedy special Lucid : A Crowd Work Special. The study takes a qualitative descriptive method, analyzing transcribed interactions to categorize swearing types and explain their meanings using Andersson and Trudgill’s (1990) framework. The analysis identifies five strategies uses of swearing: (1) annoyance (as emotional intensification), (2) social (building audience solidarity through identity-based humour), (3) abusive (playful insult like “bullshit” for exaggerated effect), (4) humorous (taboo-breaking phrases such as “fuck yeah” to shock value) and (5) expletive (spontaneous outburst like “Get the fuck out”). The findings show that five distinct types of swearing employed throughout the performance. Humorous swearing emerged as the most prevalent type, accounting for 36% of the total data, abusive swearing followed closely with 32%, social swearing appeared 20%, expletive swearing was found in 8%, and finally, annoyance swearing appeared least frequently with only 4%. This distribution demonstrates that Rife strategically employs diverse types of swearing to maximize comedic impact while maintaining audience engagement throughout the unscripted crowd-work performance. Limitations include the focus on a single comedian’s work, implying that future research may evaluate swearing functions across comedic genres or cultures. Finally, the study emphasizes that context plays a crucial role in interpreting swearing, where in comedy, its function shifts into a tool for social bonding and entertainment

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of perlocutionary effects and language strategies in Indonesian-language commercial advertisements on Facebook and TikTok. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach. Data were collected through observation and note-taking on commercial advertisements across the categories of beauty products, food and beverages, financial services, fashion, and digital entertainment during the period of January–March 2025. The results indicate that in beauty and nutrition product advertisements, perlocutionary effects manifest as cognitive beliefs; in financial services advertisements, as perceptions of affordability; in fashion advertisements, as self-identification; and in digital entertainment advertisements, as emotional engagement. The primary strategies identified include the use of numerical data claims to build credibility, life-scenario narratives for self-identification, and directive operational instructions to encourage immediate action. Interactive characteristics of social media, such as the comment response format on TikTok, were found to amplify perlocutionary power by creating the illusion of personal communication—a condition where the audience feels directly and individually addressed by the advertiser, even though the message is simultaneously directed at millions of users. Digital context and human presenter engagement emerged as the primary determinants of message effectiveness. This research confirms that advertising language on social media functions as a strategic instrument capable of directing the audience’s perceptions and economic behavior through psychological and linguistic manipulation integrated with platform features

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji representasi realitas sosial dalam cerpen-cerpen Basabasi.co pada periode 2022–2024, serta merekomendasikannya sebagai modul ajar Bahasa Indonesia untuk SMP Kelas IX Fase D. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada konflik domestik dan relasi keluarga yang relevan dengan pengalaman remaja serta konteks sosial Indonesia kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kualitatif. Subjek penelitian lima cerpen bertema problematika keluarga: “Kue Mangkuk Mamak”, “Setrika”, “Tak Ada Apel Segar Untuk Adikku Hari Ini”, “Tenang, Pelan, dan … Mengerikan”, dan “Hamil Berpuluh Tahun”. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka, teknik baca dan catat, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga bentuk dominan realitas sosial: pertikaian dalam keluarga inti, pertikaian antar saudara, dan kemiskinan sebagai latar konflik struktural. Konflik keluarga inti mencerminkan ketegangan nilai dalam relasi kuasa tradisional, sedangkan konflik antar saudara menunjukkan krisis solidaritas akibat tekanan ekonomi. Adapun kemiskinan berperan sebagai kekuatan struktural yang memperparah konflik interpersonal dan memengaruhi nilai kemanusiaan. Temuan ini melandasi penyusunan modul ajar Bahasa Indonesia untuk SMP Kelas IX Fase D. Modul dirancang untuk menumbuhkan literasi kritis, empati, dan kesadaran sosial siswa sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Rendahnya pemahaman peserta didik terhadap nilai-nilai sosial dalam karya sastra serta terbatasnya bahan ajar yang kontekstual menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai sosial dalam kumpulan cerpen Menyerah Bukan Pilihan karya Dwi Fitriawati, dkk., serta merekomendasikannya sebagai bahan ajar sastra bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis. Lima cerpen dipilih sebagai objek kajian, yaitu “Menyerah Bukan Pilihan,” “Tak Hanya Ojek Online,” “Syukur,” “Luka Tak Selalu Berisikan Duka,” dan “Andhini.” Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan teori nilai sosial Notonegoro yang mencakup nilai material, nilai vital, dan nilai kerohanian (yang terdiri atas nilai moral dan religius). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelima cerpen mengandung beragam nilai sosial yang dekat dengan kehidupan remaja dan mencerminkan dinamika sosial masyarakat, khususnya dalam situasi pandemi Covid-19. Nilai material menggambarkan perjuangan ekonomi dan gaya hidup; nilai moral tampak dalam sikap tanggung jawab, kejujuran, kepedulian, dan bakti kepada orang tua; sementara nilai religius tercermin melalui keteguhan iman, rasa syukur, semangat berbagi, dan kesabaran menghadapi cobaan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, cerpen-cerpen dalam antologi ini layak dijadikan sebagai sumber bahan ajar yang kontekstual. Modul ajar yang dikembangkan diarahkan untuk mengintegrasikan analisis unsur intrinsik cerpen dengan penguatan nilai sosial, sejalan dengan Capaian Pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka Fase D untuk kelas IX. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran sastra tidak hanya meningkatkan literasi peserta didik, tetapi juga memperkuat karakter mereka.
