Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of determinant factors of non-financial SMEs' PEFINDO index profitability in Indonesia from 2018 to 2022, with independent variables including company size, company age, company efficiency, working capital, liquidity, leverage, volatility, and market risk on the dependent variables of ROE and ROA. The study utilizes secondary data in the form of financial reports from non-financial companies that have been included in the PEFINDO25 index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2018-2022 period. This research sample used purposive sampling and obtained 65 companies as samples. Data analysis for hypothesis testing involves multiple regression using E-views 9 software. The test results indicate that company size, company efficiency, and working capital have a positive impact on ROE, while company age, leverage, and market risk have a negative impact on ROE. Company size, company age, and volatility have a negative impact on ROA, while company efficiency and working capital have a positive impact on ROA. However, liquidity does not significantly affect either ROE or ROA. These factors need to be considered by companies to make informed decisions in maintaining or improving company profitability, avoiding financial distress leading to bankruptcy, and determining suitable investments for investors.

Abstract

Fraud in government is a major challenge that impacts public trust and the efficiency of state administration. This study aims to analyze the trends, causes, and mitigation strategies of fraud in the government sector through a systematic literature review approach. Based on the fraud triangle theory which includes pressure, opportunity, and rationalization, it was found that fraud in the public sector is often triggered by weak internal control, political and economic pressure, and an organizational culture that is permissive of corruption. Recent trends show an increase in the use of digital technology in fraud modes, especially in data manipulation and public procurement. This study also identifies mitigation strategies, including the implementation of effective internal control, strengthening transparency, ethics education, and collaboration between supervisory institutions. These findings are expected to provide relevant policy recommendations for the government to improve transparency, accountability, and integrity in the public sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of production and price on the income of seaweed farmers in Tadui Village, Mamuju District. Seaweed is a leading commodity in the fisheries and agriculture sectors, which plays an important role in supporting food security, industrial raw materials, and exports. A quantitative approach is used with the help of the SPSS application to identify the relationship between independent variables (production and price) to dependent variables (income). Data was collected through a survey of seaweed farmers using purposive sampling techniques. The results of the analysis show that production and price variables partially and simultaneously have a significant influence on farmers' income. Production has a positive influence, where each increase in production increases farmers' income significantly. Prices also have a significant impact, showing the importance of price stability in improving farmers' welfare. These findings underscore the need for policies that support increased productivity and seaweed price stability to encourage economic growth of coastal communities in Tadui Village. Optimization of cultivation technology and government intervention in price stabilization are the main recommendations of this study.
