Abstract

This study aims to analyze and formulate an integrative model of Islamic digital literacy in shaping students’ character through a digital-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum. The primary focus of this research is to integrate the concepts of adab (proper conduct), akhlak (moral character), and social media ethics as normative and operational foundations in responding to the challenges of the cyber era, including misinformation, hate speech, ideological polarization, and digital radicalism. The study also seeks to identify the interconnection between Islamic value concepts, digital risks, ethical strategies, and the formulation of an applicable curriculum across educational levels, this research employs a library research method with a qualitative-descriptive and analytical approach. Data sources were derived from classical and contemporary literature on Islamic education, digital literacy theory, character education, religious moderation, as well as national and international educational policy documents, including the digital literacy framework developed by UNESCO. The data were analyzed through stages of identification, thematic classification, conceptual comparison, and integrative synthesis to construct a systematic theoretical framework. The validity of the study was ensured through source triangulation and consistency in normative and pedagogical argumentation, the findings indicate that Islamic digital literacy has a conceptual structure consisting of three main foundations: adab as normative awareness, akhlak as internalized character formation, and social media ethics as practical application within digital spaces. These elements can be integrated into the PAI curriculum through project-based learning focused on information verification (tabayyun), simulations of ethical digital discussions, critical analysis of online narratives, and education on digital security and responsibility. This model emphasizes that a digital-based PAI curriculum functions not merely as a means of transferring religious knowledge, but also as an instrument for character formation that is adaptive to technological developments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning by examining its opportunities, challenges, and implementation strategies within contemporary educational contexts. The research employs a qualitative library research method, drawing upon academic books, peer-reviewed journal articles, policy documents, and relevant digital resources discussing AI in education, Islamic pedagogy, and lifelong learning. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify major themes related to technological transformation, pedagogical adaptation, ethical considerations, and institutional readiness. The findings indicate that AI offers significant opportunities for enhancing personalized learning, adaptive assessment, intelligent tutoring systems, and digital content development in IRE. AI-based platforms can support differentiated instruction, facilitate access to classical and contemporary Islamic sources, and promote interactive learning environments. However, the study also reveals substantial challenges, including ethical concerns, algorithmic bias, data privacy risks, digital inequality, teacher competency gaps, and potential reduction of spiritual-human interaction in religious learning. Effective implementation requires strategic planning, professional development for educators, curriculum redesign, ethical governance frameworks, and alignment with Islamic educational values. The study concludes that AI integration in IRE must balance technological innovation with moral, spiritual, and humanistic dimensions to ensure meaningful and sustainable educational transformation.

Abstract

Hadroh music is a part of Islamic religious art traditions that have developed rapidly in Indonesia, especially through majlis sholawat. Hadroh is not only a form of entertainment but also a medium of religious preaching and spiritual strengthening for its participants. The aesthetics of hadroh music is an essential aspect for understanding how beauty, musicality, and spirituality merge within an artistic practice. However, studies on the aesthetics of hadroh music remain limited, particularly in the context of majlis such as Bintang Songo. This majlis is widely known for its hundreds of followers and its distinctive musical character. This study is important because it demonstrates how art can become both a cultural force and a spiritual bond for the community. This research employs a qualitative approach, chosen because the study focuses on collecting, observing, examining, and analyzing literature relevant to the theme of hadroh music aesthetics, especially within the practices of the Bintang Songo Majlis. The results show that the aesthetics of hadroh music in Bintang Songo lie in the combination of harmonious rebana arrangements, emotionally rich sholawat chants, and the spiritual interaction between vocalists, musicians, and the congregation. The uniqueness of Bintang Songo is its ability to create a festive religious atmosphere without losing the depth of spiritual meaning. These findings enrich the discourse on religious music in Indonesia by showing that the aesthetics of hadroh can serve as an effective medium of dakwah while also strengthening the cultural identity of Islam Nusantara. Moreover, this study opens new perspectives on the relationship between art, spirituality, and the social life of its participants. This research remains limited to a single majlis, namely Bintang Songo, so the generalization of its findings should be approached with caution. Further research is recommended to compare the aesthetics of hadroh music across other majlis sholawat to obtain a broader depiction of the diversity of hadroh aesthetics in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education is understood as a systematically and pragmatically designed effort to guide students in living their lives in accordance with Islamic teachings. Observations conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Kediri indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers have begun implementing innovative learning strategies aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum by utilizing a deep learning approach. Deep learning is a pedagogical model aimed at enhancing students’ understanding through comprehensive exploration and critical engagement by integrating mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning. This approach enables students to develop both intellectual and emotional intelligence simultaneously. In its implementation, the learning process employs the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, which provides students with opportunities to actively participate in producing a project as part of their learning process. Project-Based Learning has the potential to strengthen the “meaningful” aspect of learning through the creation of tangible works directly related to Islamic values. Through this process, students not only understand concepts cognitively but also internalize the spiritual and social meanings embedded within them. The project-based approach provides space for students to express themselves creatively and joyfully, making learning more engaging and relevant to their daily lives. The resulting works can be analyzed, reflected upon, and used as concrete examples of the conscious application of Islamic values in everyday life.

Abstract

This literature study aims to critically analyze Albert Bandura’s theory of self-efficacy from an Islamic perspective and to examine its integration with the concepts of tawakkal (trust in God) and sincerity (ikhlas) in Islamic Religious Education. Using a qualitative library research approach with critical analysis, this study synthesizes concepts from psychological literature and Islamic sources, the findings indicate that self-efficacy theory is relevant to the Islamic concept of tawakkal in emphasizing the importance of belief in driving effort. However, there are fundamental differences in the source and object of that belief. Self-efficacy is derived from empirical experience and focuses on personal ability, whereas tawakkal is rooted in faith and centers on reliance upon Allah, the integration of self-efficacy with tawakkal and sincerity in Islamic education can be achieved through instructional design that develops students’ confidence in their abilities as gifts from Allah, instills awareness that success ultimately comes from Allah thereby fostering gratitude frames failure with patience and tawakkul, and purifies learning intentions solely for the sake of Allah.

Abstract

This article is motivated by the increasing use of the internet as a learning resource for elementary school students who do not yet fully possess the ability to evaluate the accuracy of information. Ontologically, digital literacy is not only understood as the technical ability to use devices, but also as a critical awareness of the nature of information, its sources, and its validity. The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of the ontology of digital literacy in helping elementary school students assess the accuracy of information from internet-based sources. The method used is qualitative research with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were obtained from scientific journals, books, and relevant educational policy documents. The results show that ontology-based digital literacy emphasizes an understanding of the existence of information, its origins, and the criteria of truth involving aspects of logic, source credibility, and information context. These findings indicate that students equipped with ontological understanding tend to be more critical in distinguishing between hoax and factual information. The conclusion of this study is that the integration of an ontological approach in digital literacy is essential for developing critical thinking skills from an early age. The implication is that teachers need to develop learning strategies that not only focus on the use of technology but also on the critical evaluation of digital information
