Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors hindering the integration of Islamic economics with the real sector and to identify mechanisms that can strengthen their linkage. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, analyzing 47 articles from Scopus and Web of Science-indexed international journals published between 2020 and 2025. The findings identify three main clusters of barriers: institutional barriers within Islamic financial institutions characterized by the dominance of murabahah financing at 60 percent and minimal equity-based instruments; barriers at the real sector level including low Islamic financial literacy averaging 28–34 percent and disproportionate collateral requirements; and macro-structural barriers stemming from suboptimal regulatory frameworks and persistent asymmetric information problems. The study also finds that Islamic fintech holds transformative potential yet its penetration remains below 12 percent, while productive ZISWAF instruments have been proven to increase beneficiary income by up to 47 percent but have not yet reached optimal scale. Cross-country comparative analysis reveals that successful integration is determined by an integrated enabling ecosystem encompassing regulation, institutional innovation, literacy, and digital infrastructure. This study concludes that the required solutions are multi-level and multi-stakeholder in nature, rooted in the maqashid syariah framework

Abstract

This study examines the tradition of Batajak Rumah, a communal practice of building houses through mutual cooperation in Banjar society, and its role in strengthening multicultural attitudes among junior high school students in Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan. Balangan Regency is a multiethnic region inhabited by Banjar, Dayak Meratus, Javanese, Bugis, and other ethnic communities. Using a library research approach with ethnopedagogical analysis, this article argues that Batajak Rumah inherently embodies five multicultural values: cross-ethnic ta'awun (mutual assistance), ukhuwwah insaniyyah (human brotherhood), social reciprocity, participatory inclusiveness, and leadership based on expertise rather than ethnicity. These values have direct correspondence with Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachings and can be strengthened through four learning strategies: inductive thematic integration, experiential learning, digital documentation projects, and collaboration among schools, communities, and families. The findings indicate that Batajak Rumah is an active pedagogical asset that can optimize the role of PAI learning in shaping multicultural attitudes among junior high school students in multiethnic areas, while also enhancing the relevance and contextualization of PAI as a character-building subject.

Abstract

This study explores the reactualization of ‘aqal (intellect) and qalb (heart) in Islamic education within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing the integration of deep learning and a love-based pedagogical approach. Contemporary Islamic education often tends to prioritize cognitive achievement while underemphasizing affective and spiritual dimensions, resulting in an imbalance in the holistic development of learners. This research aims to conceptually analyze how the synergy between ‘aqal and qalb can be strengthened through innovative learning paradigms that align with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative library research method, this study examines relevant literature on Islamic educational philosophy, deep learning theory, and love-based curriculum approaches. The findings indicate that deep learning fosters critical thinking, reflection, and meaningful understanding, while a love-based approach nurtures empathy, compassion, and spiritual awareness. The integration of these approaches provides a holistic framework that aligns intellectual rigor with emotional and spiritual development. Furthermore, the Merdeka Curriculum offers a flexible and student-centered platform that enables educators to implement this integrative model effectively. The study concludes that the harmonization of ‘aqal and qalb through deep learning and love-based education can enhance the quality of Islamic education by producing learners who are intellectually competent, emotionally balanced, and spiritually grounded. This approach also reinforces the role of education as a transformative process that not only transmits knowledge but also cultivates character and moral integrity

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ethics of critical learning in the Qur’an through a tarbawi interpretation approach of QS. Al-Isra: 36 in the context of digital literacy. The main problem of this study is the low level of critical thinking ability in digital learning practices that is not balanced with adequate ethical foundations. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach based on library research using a thematic interpretation (maudhu’i) method that integrates textual analysis of the verse with the context of contemporary education. Data are analyzed through stages of identifying the meaning of the verse, linguistic analysis, and synthesizing educational values contextualized with digital literacy using qualitative content analysis. The results show that QS. Al-Isra: 36 contains principles of critical learning ethics, including information verification, rational thinking, rejection of following without knowledge-based evidence, and intellectual responsibility. The findings also indicate a gap between the normative values of learning ethics in Islam and digital learning practices that tend to be instant and non-reflective. This study emphasizes that tarbawi interpretation can function as a bridge between Qur’anic values and the needs of modern digital literacy. The theoretical contribution of this study lies in strengthening the concept of learning ethics as an integration of cognitive and moral dimensions, while its practical contribution is the development of applicable indicators of critical learning ethics in digital learning. This study recommends the integration of Qur’anic values into the curriculum to strengthen ethical digital literacy and to foster learners who are critical and responsible.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transmission process of Islamic religious education values within the religious traditions of the Dayak Paser Muluy community in the Gunung Lumut area, East Kalimantan. This research is motivated by the interaction between Islamic teachings and local traditions that develop within indigenous communities, which forms distinctive and contextual religious practices. This study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. The research data were obtained from various literature sources such as books, scientific journal articles, research reports, and other academic documents relevant to Islamic education studies, local culture, and Dayak indigenous communities. The data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative analysis by reviewing, interpreting, and synthesizing various literature sources to understand how the values of Islamic religious education are transmitted within the religious traditions of the Dayak Paser Muluy community. The results show that religious traditions in the Dayak Paser Muluy community serve as an important medium for transmitting Islamic educational values such as spirituality, solidarity, mutual cooperation, deliberation, respect for parents, and social care. These values are passed down through cultural practices, traditional rituals, social interactions, and the roles of traditional and religious leaders within the community. Local traditions function not only as a cultural identity but also as an informal educational medium that shapes the character and morality of the community in accordance with Islamic teachings. The novelty of this study lies in integrating the study of Islamic religious education with the perspective of local wisdom of the Dayak Paser Muluy community, thereby providing new insights into how local traditions function as a medium for transmitting Islamic educational values within indigenous societies.

Abstract

This study examines the legal progressivity of the obligation to plant durian trees as a condition of marriage, formalized through Village Regulations No. 05/2022 and No. 17/2022 in Tompo Bulu Village, South Sulawesi. In practice, these Village Regulations impose sanctions on prospective brides and grooms who do not comply with the regulation, granting the village imam the authority to refuse to perform a marriage, thus creating direct tension with the pillars and requirements for valid marriage according to the fiqh of munakahat. This study aims to analyze the legitimacy of the Village Regulation's Siyasah Syar'iyyah (Islamic principle), the legal implications of the mechanism for rejecting a marriage contract, and the philosophical values of the tradition of planting durian trees. Using empirical legal research methods and a legal anthropology approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentary studies of two relevant Village Regulations. The most important finding of this study is that to date, there has never been a single case of rejection of a marriage contract. 98 percent of village residents voluntarily fulfill the obligation, while the remaining two percent are residents who married outside the village's jurisdiction, making the Village Regulation legally inapplicable to them. This proves that sanctions function as a deterrent mechanism, not as an instrument of punishment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a novel conceptual framework for Artificial Intelligence based on Maqasid al-Shariah in the context of transforming Islamic education amid technological disruption and the knowledge society. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, the study critically analyzes classical and contemporary literature on Islamic education, artificial intelligence, and Maqasid al-Shariah theory. The novelty of this research lies in the integrative construction of a Maqasid-based AI model that systematically embeds the five essential protections religion, intellect, life, lineage, and wealth into the architecture of educational technology design, moving beyond conventional AI applications that are predominantly technical and value-neutral. The findings demonstrate that AI integration in Islamic education must be normatively guided to ensure alignment with ethical, spiritual, and epistemological principles of Islam. Furthermore, this study introduces a maqasid-driven evaluative and operational framework that not only enhances learning efficiency but also actively fosters spiritual formation, moral integrity, and intellectual development. Unlike prior studies that treat ethics as an external constraint, this research positions Maqasid al-Shariah as an intrinsic design principle within AI systems. The study also identifies critical risks of unregulated AI adoption, including doctrinal distortion, cognitive dependency, privacy violations, moral decline, and excessive commercialization of education. Therefore, it proposes a collaborative and interdisciplinary AI design model involving technologists, educators, and Islamic scholars to ensure value-driven innovation.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays an important role in shaping the character and moral values of Muslim communities. In the Barito River Basin area, PAI has a strategic role in improving the quality of life of the Dayak Bakumpai community, which is predominantly Muslim. However, the development of Islamic religious education in this region still faces several challenges, such as the limited availability of qualified human resources, inadequate educational facilities, and the low level of community awareness regarding the importance of religious education. In this context, Dayak Bakumpai women have a significant role in strengthening religious education within both family and community environments. They not only function as housewives but also act as educators, motivators, and social actors who support religious learning activities. Nevertheless, their contribution to the development of Islamic religious education has not been fully optimized and often receives limited attention. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of Dayak Bakumpai women in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education in the Barito River Basin, as well as to identify factors that influence their participation and strategies to strengthen their role in the community. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that Dayak Bakumpai women play an important role in strengthening religious values, providing informal religious education in families, and supporting community religious activities. However, their role is still constrained by limited educational facilities, access to resources, and social support. Strengthening community awareness and empowering women can help optimize their role in improving the quality of Islamic religious education in the region
