Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on junior high school students’ science learning outcomes amid the suboptimal implementation of the independent curriculum, which remains teacher-centered and limits student engagement. Using a Quasi-Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design, the sample consisted of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 26 Padang selected through purposive sampling. Class VII.1 received POE-based learning, while VII.2 experienced conventional instruction. Data were collected through pretest–posttest multiple-choice assessments, implementation observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Descriptive and inferential analyses, including normality, homogeneity, and t-tests, revealed that t_count > t_table, indicating a significant effect of the POE model on students’ science learning outcomes regarding substances and their changes. Implications highlight the POE model’s potential to enhance conceptual understanding and student participation. Recommendations include integrating POE routinely into science instruction and training teachers to apply inquiry-based models effectively.

Abstract

This study examines how active learning strengthens Islamic values in Islamic Education (PAI) classrooms, addressing the long-standing dominance of cognitive-oriented instruction. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were gathered through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and document analysis. Findings show that active learning promotes deeper engagement with religious concepts and facilitates the internalization of Islamic values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and cooperation. Collaborative and contextual learning activities successfully foster a participatory classroom climate that supports continuous value formation. Theoretically, this study reinforces the relevance of student-centered pedagogies in value-based learning. Practically, it highlights the need for teachers to design activity-rich lessons that integrate character formation. Future research is recommended to develop evaluation models grounded in Islamic values to balance cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model on students’ conceptual understanding in IPAS learning for Grade IV at SDN 01 Nanga Kelawai. The research used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 17 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. The instrument was a validated and reliable Two-Tier multiple-choice test, and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results showed that the average pretest score was 41.35, while the posttest score increased to 56.35, with a gain of 15.70 points. The Wilcoxon test produced a Z value of 3.623 and an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that Ha was accepted and Ho rejected. Therefore, the Think Talk Write (TTW) model significantly affects students’ conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of students’ scientific literacy through the implementation of the inquiry learning model supported by PhET simulation on capacitor material. The background of this research is the low ability of students to understand capacitors conceptually and applicatively. This experimental study used a Pre-Experimental Design with one experimental class consisting of 34 Grade XII students at SMA Karya Pembangunan 1 Ciparay in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected using pre- and post-scientific literacy tests. The results showed an average N-Gain score of 0.38 (medium category) with an effectiveness percentage of 37.38% (ineffective interpretation). A Paired Samples Test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with an improvement of 23.73 points, t(33)=7.381, p<0.001. These findings indicate that inquiry learning with PhET simulation significantly enhances scientific literacy, although its implementation has not yet reached effective criteria. Implication suggests further integration of laboratory activities and teacher guidance. Researchers recommend optimizing digital scaffolding and training for teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model using the “Vlab Suhu dan Kalor” media on students’ learning outcomes. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 33 seventh-grade students who were given tests before and after the treatment. Data analysis was conducted through a normality test, hypothesis test, and N-Gain calculation. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed, while the hypothesis test obtained a significance value of < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest learning outcomes. The average N-Gain score of 62.97% falls into the medium category, showing a fairly effective improvement in learning outcomes. It can be concluded that the application of the PBL model using the “Vlab Suhu dan Kalor” media effectively enhances students’ science learning outcomes on the topic of heat and temperature.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the ontological foundation of science in the development of educational management paradigms in the era of disruption by exploring the nature of educational management reality from the perspective of the philosophy of science. The main issue raised is the tendency of educational management studies to remain technical-instrumental and not yet deeply address the philosophical aspects, particularly the ontology of science. This research uses a qualitative approach through a literature study of books on the philosophy of science, educational management, as well as reputable national and international journal articles. The study results show that educational management ontologically is a complex, dynamic, and contextual social reality, formed from the interaction between structure, actors, values, and environmental changes. Therefore, the development of educational management paradigms in the era of disruption needs to be based on an integrative, adaptive, and reflective ontology in order to address the challenges of sustainable educational change.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze an integrative model in the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum that combines classical scholarly traditions with modern learning innovations at Dayah Ummul Ayman. The background of this research is based on the need for Islamic educational institutions to maintain traditional values while also responding to the developments of the times. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected thru observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the implemented integrative curriculum model is capable of improving the quality of learning, both in terms of religious understanding, critical thinking skills, and the formation of students' character. The integration of traditional methods such as bandongan and sorogan with modern approaches like discussions and contextual learning has become the main factor behind this success.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how teachers help students learn effectively at MA NW Kabar. When students feel supported and encouraged in their learning, they are more likely to be motivated and perform well (Sardiman, 2020). The study used a learning method that emphasizes detailed understanding, where data was collected through observation, talking with people, and reviewing documents (Sugiyono, 2022). Teachers help students feel comfortable, safe, and engaged in learning. Teachers do more than just teach. They also help students learn, encourage them, and show them how to behave. Strategies used include effective communication, the application of a humanistic approach, and creative and disciplined classroom management (Mulyasa, 2021). In conclusion, the role of teachers in creating a conducive learning environment is crucial to the success of the educational process and the development of student character

Abstract

This study aims to develop contextual-applied teaching materials for the General Philosophy course in higher education. Philosophy courses are often perceived as difficult, abstract, and less relevant to contemporary life. Therefore, it is necessary to design teaching materials that are not only theoretical but also applicable and contextual. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results show that contextual learning approaches can improve students’ understanding by connecting philosophical concepts with real-life situations. The developed teaching materials incorporate seven main components: constructivism, inquiry, questioning, learning community, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment. These components make philosophy learning more meaningful, practical, and relevant. The study concludes that contextual-applied teaching materials are feasible and effective for improving learning outcomes in philosophy courses.

Abstract

Internalization of Islamic Social Values through Outing Class at the Mataram Islamic Center Mosque among SDN 3 Bengkel Lombok Barat Students. This study analyzes the internalization of Islamic social values through an outing class conducted at the Mataram Islamic Center Mosque. Using a descriptive qualitative case-study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving elementary students, Islamic education teachers, and activity facilitators. The findings show that outing class enables students to experience Islamic values contextually through prayer practice, hajj simulation, disciplined participation, and guided social interaction in a mosque environment. The mosque functions not only as a worship space but also as an educational and socialization arena where students learn adab, discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. Teachers play a central role as agents of value internalization through hidden curriculum, modeling, habituation, and corrective guidance. The study concludes that outing class can serve as a contextual and applicative model of Islamic education that integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning for strengthening students’ religious character.
