Abstract

Education is essentially an effort to actualize and develop various potential student personalities, both related to physical and mental aspects. In order for education to produce outputs that have superior competence in dealing with various problems and realities of life, UNESCO formulates 4 (four) pillars of education as a support for the education system, namely: (1) learning to know; (2) learning to do; (3) learning to be; and 4) learning to live together. However, according to the author, these pillars are not sufficient to support one's personality in achieving happiness. Because happiness is closely related to the ability to give true meaning to the reality of life that comes from spiritual intelligence. On that basis, through this literature study the authors conducted an analysis of 1 (one) pillar of education, namely learning to find the meaning of life, as an innovation pillar of education outside the UNESCO concept. This study is expected to complement and perfect the pillars of education into 5 (five) pillars, namely; (1) learning to know; (2) learning to do; (3) learning to be; (4) learning to live together; and (5) learning to find the meaning of life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain data showing the effect of group guidance using the storytelling technique on improving manners in fifth grade students of SD 3 Wates for the 2021–2022 academic year. This type of research is an experiment with a one group pre-test post-test research design. methods of data collection using interviews and questionnaires to improve manners The data analysis technique used is percentage descriptive analysis and the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that there was a change in the level of politeness of students before and after participating in group guidance services using storytelling techniques. It can be seen that the results show an average increase of 15.2% from the initial results. Because the number of levels is the smallest, the value of Tcount is 0 and the value of Ttable is 8, also 0 < 8, then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Asymp value. Its sig of 0.005 is less than 0.5. This means that group guidance services using storytelling techniques have a significant influence on improving the manners of fifth grade students at SDN 3 Wates, Kudus Regency.

Abstract

The use of the internet and digital devices has become an important part of teenagers' daily lives, raising concerns about the increasing phenomenon of online gaming addiction. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and online gaming addiction among junior high school students in Padang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involves 125 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Game Addiction Scale (reliability = 0.851) and the Self-Control Scale (reliability = 0.793). Data analysis was performed using Pearson's product-moment correlation technique with the help of the SPSS 20 for Windows program. The results showed a significant positive correlation between self-control and online game addiction (r = 0.483; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that adolescents with high levels of self-control also show a high tendency toward online gaming behavior, meaning that self-control in the context of adolescence does not always function as a protective factor but can be adaptive to social and digital environmental pressures.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning for spatial geometry material in fifth grade elementary schools. The background of this study is the low mathematics learning outcomes and the limited teaching materials that can encourage active student involvement. The development process uses the ADDIE model with validation from material experts, media experts, and design experts which shows that the developed LKPD meets the criteria of very valid. The results of the effectiveness test show that this LKPD is able to improve conceptual understanding, active involvement, and student learning outcomes in mathematics learning. This study concludes that LKPD based on Problem-Based Learning is suitable for use as an alternative teaching material in elementary schools. The recommendation from this study is the need for teachers to integrate problem-based teaching materials into mathematics learning on an ongoing basis and to develop other materials and levels so that the results are broader and deeper.

Abstract

Amidst globalization and digital disruption, a nation's resilience is tested, especially among Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the role of character education and social media literacy in strengthening national resilience among Generation Z in Timor-Leste. A quantitative survey with a cross-sectional design was employed with 256 high school students (Generation Z) in Dili, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Character Values Scale, Social Media Literacy Scale, and National Resilience Scale. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that both character education (r = 0.23, p < 0.001) and social media literacy (r = 0.13, p < 0.05) have a significant positive relationship with national resilience. However, in a joint regression model that explained 4.7% of the variance in national resilience (F (2,253) = 7.32, p < 0.01), character education emerged as the sole significant predictor (β = 0.23, p = .001). The implication for the field of education is the critical importance of prioritizing a strong character-based curriculum, complemented by digital media literacy, within the national education system to fortify the younger generation against ideological threats.
