Abstract

The ability to speak English is a crucial skill that often faces obstacles such as lack of confidence, limited vocabulary, and monotonous learning methods. This research investigates the effectiveness of the Mondly Language application in improving the speaking skills of 9th-grade students at MTsN 4 Jombang. Using a mixed-method approach with a case study design, data were collected through observations, satisfaction surveys, interviews, and speaking tests conducted before and after the application was used. The analysis was conducted thematically and statistically, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and Paired Samples T-Tests. The results showed that the majority of students had a high level of satisfaction with Mondly Language, particularly in terms of vocabulary and confidence. The ANOVA test and Post Hoc Tukey test indicated significant differences among student satisfaction aspects. Additionally, the Post-test scores increased significantly compared to the Pre-test scores, with an average difference of 14.571 points (t = -59.62; p < 0.05), confirming the effectiveness of Mondly in improving speaking skills. The theoretical results indicate that Mondly Language is an effective educational tool for improving vocabulary, grammar, and students' confidence in communication, offering interactive, flexible, and real-world context-based learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges of educational supervision in the digital era based on the perceptions of teachers and principals at SD Negeri 011 Samarinda Seberang. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 10 teachers and 1 principal as participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study reveal four main challenges: (1) limitations in digital infrastructure in the form of unstable devices and internet networks; (2) a digital competency gap between senior and junior teachers; (3) changes in communication dynamics that have led to feedback becoming more formal and less in-depth; and (4) an increase in teachers' workload due to the demands of technological adaptation. The findings also identified strategies that have begun to be implemented, namely collaborative learning among teachers and a blended supervision model that combines online and offline approaches. The study concluded that the challenges of digital supervision are multidimensional, requiring a holistic approach that includes improving human resource capacity, upgrading infrastructure, and developing adaptive supervision models. The practical implication of this study is the need for policies that support comprehensive digital transformation at the elementary school level.

Abstract

AbstractThis study examines the historical transformation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in South Kalimantan, focusing on how pesantren institutions responded to the implementation of the National Curriculum policy. Historically, PAI in the region was dominated by autonomous salaf pesantren traditions centered on kitab kuning studies and the authority of the Tuan Guru. State intervention following independence, particularly the 1975 Joint Decree of Three Ministers (SKB 3 Menteri), required pesantren to adopt the national curriculum for formal recognition, creating institutional challenges. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research and historical analysis. The findings reveal that pesantren responses did not reflect total resistance or full assimilation, but rather a process of curricular negotiation. This negotiation resulted in two hybrid models: the historical adaptation (dual-system) model, which maintains traditional learning while adopting formal educational structures, and the modern integration model, which incorporates the national curriculum alongside traditional content from the outset. The study concludes that this hybrid consensus enables pesantren to preserve religious identity while securing formal legitimacy and socio-economic mobility for students.AbstrakPenelitian ini menganalisis proses transformasi historis Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Kalimantan Selatan dengan menyoroti dinamika respons lembaga pesantren terhadap penerapan kebijakan Kurikulum Nasional. Secara historis, PAI di Kalimantan Selatan didominasi oleh tradisi pesantren salaf yang otonom, berpusat pada otoritas Tuan Guru dan kajian kitab kuning. Intervensi negara pascakemerdekaan, khususnya melalui kebijakan SKB Tiga Menteri tahun 1975 yang mensyaratkan adopsi kurikulum umum untuk pengakuan formal, menimbulkan dilema kelembagaan bagi pesantren. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan analisis historis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respons pesantren tidak bersifat asimilatif maupun resistif secara total, melainkan melalui proses negosiasi kurikuler. Proses ini melahirkan dua model pendidikan hibrid, yaitu model adaptasi historis (sistem ganda) yang mempertahankan tradisi pembelajaran kitab kuning sekaligus mengadopsi struktur pendidikan formal, serta model integrasi modern yang sejak awal menggabungkan kurikulum nasional dengan konten tradisional. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konsensus hibrid tersebut memungkinkan pesantren mempertahankan identitas keagamaan sekaligus memperoleh legitimasi formal dan mobilitas sosial-ekonomi bagi santri.

Abstract

AbstractAlthough learning technology has advanced, resulting in the widespread use of social media in learning, ethical aspects and religious values have not been fully internalized in the practice of using social media as a learning medium. In the context of modern education, characterized by technological advances and the flow of digital information, without a strong moral foundation, the risk of social media misuse and the loss of learning ethics can increase. This study uses a qualitative research method with a library research approach. The purpose of this study is to examine in depth the values of the Hadith that are relevant to the use of social media in modern education. It also examines the forms of social media that can be used in learning, especially in modern education. The results of this study indicate that the integration of Hadith values is a crucial part of social media use, and understanding social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and WhatsApp is crucial for learning, especially in today's modern education. AbstrakMeskipun teknologi pembelajaran telah berkembang, sehingga banyak menghasilkan media sosial yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran namun aspek etika dan nilai keagamaan belum sepenuhnya terinternalisasi dalam praktik penggunaan media sosial sebagai media belajar. Dalam konteks pendidikan modern yang ditandai oleh kemajuan teknologi dan arus informasi digital, tanpa pijakan moral yang kuat, risiko penyalahgunaan media sosial dan hilangnya etika belajar bisa meningkat. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan (library research). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menelaah secara mendalam nilai nilai hadis yang relevan dengan pemanfaatan media sosial dalam pendidikan modern. Serta bentuk media sosial seperti apa yang bisa digunakan dalam pembelajaran terutama di pendidikan modern. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi dari nilai-nilai hadis merupakan bagian yang terpenting dalam penggunaan media sosial dan menggetahui media sosial seperti youtube, tik-tok, instagram dan whatsapp merupakan yang bisa digunakan dalam pembelajaran terutama dalam ranah pendidikan modern saat ini.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the conformity of the writing of Surah Al-Mulk in a Surat Yasin booklet published by CV. Al Baba with the Indonesian Standard Mushaf (Mushaf Standar Indonesia/MSI), particularly in terms of rasm, ḍabṭ, and waqf signs. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research data consist of the text of Surah Al-Mulk contained in the Surat Yasin booklet, which is examined through documentation study and directly compared with the text of Surah Al-Mulk in the Indonesian Standard Mushaf as the primary reference. Data analysis is conducted using a comparative method based on the principles of Uthmani rasm, ḍabṭ, and waqf–ibtidā’. The results show that the writing of Surah Al-Mulk in the examined booklet does not fully conform to the Indonesian Standard Mushaf. Out of 30 verses, 14 verses (approximately 47%) exhibit discrepancies, particularly in the writing of yā’ sākinah without dots and the use of waqf signs that differ from MSI standards. These discrepancies demonstrate recurring patterns and indicate the absence of an official tashih (verification) process in popular religious publications. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening mushaf verification mechanisms and enhancing mushaf literacy in the publication of religious books in Indonesia. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian penulisan Surah Al-Mulk dalam buku Surat Yasin terbitan CV. Al Baba dengan Mushaf Standar Indonesia (MSI), khususnya pada aspek rasm, ḍabṭ, dan tanda waqaf. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif. Data penelitian berupa teks Surah Al-Mulk dalam buku Surat Yasin yang dianalisis melalui studi dokumentasi dan dibandingkan secara langsung dengan teks Surah Al-Mulk dalam Mushaf Standar Indonesia sebagai rujukan utama. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode komparatif berdasarkan kaidah rasm ‘Utsmānī, ḍabṭ, dan waqf–ibtidā’. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Surah Al-Mulk dalam buku Surat Yasin tersebut tidak sepenuhnya sesuai dengan Mushaf Standar Indonesia. Dari total 30 ayat, ditemukan 14 ayat (±47%) yang mengandung ketidaksesuaian, terutama pada penulisan huruf yā’ sukun tanpa titik serta penggunaan tanda waqaf yang berbeda dari standar MSI. Ketidaksesuaian ini menunjukkan pola berulang dan mengindikasikan lemahnya proses pentashihan pada buku keagamaan populer. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya perluasan pengawasan pentashihan mushaf dan peningkatan literasi mushaf dalam penerbitan buku-buku keagamaan di Indonesia.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the interpretation of QS. Az-Zumar verse 6 in the perspective of modern science. This verse explains the stages of human development from nuthfah (semen) to becoming a perfect fetus. The research uses a qualitative analysis method with a thematic interpretation approach and scientific literature study. The results show that the explanation in the Qur'an is in line with the findings of modern science about the development of the human embryo. This finding confirms that the Qur'an, as a holy book, provides an accurate and in-depth picture of the process of human creation, which was only understood by modern science a few centuries later. This research strengthens the belief in the miracles of the Qur'an and emphasizes the importance of integration between religious science and science in understanding natural phenomena and life. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interpretasi ayat 6 Surah Az-Zumar dalam perspektif ilmu pengetahuan modern. Ayat ini menjelaskan tahapan perkembangan manusia dari nuthfah (sperma) hingga menjadi janin yang sempurna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan interpretasi tematik dan studi literatur ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penjelasan dalam Al-Qur'an sejalan dengan temuan ilmu pengetahuan modern tentang perkembangan embrio manusia. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa Al-Qur'an, sebagai kitab suci, memberikan gambaran yang akurat dan mendalam tentang proses penciptaan manusia, yang baru dipahami oleh ilmu pengetahuan modern beberapa abad kemudian. Penelitian ini memperkuat keyakinan akan keajaiban Al-Qur'an dan menekankan pentingnya integrasi antara ilmu agama dan ilmu pengetahuan dalam memahami fenomena alam dan kehidupan.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic education through the integration of local wisdom in Lampung within the multicultural suburban context of MA Sunanul Huda Natar. Using a qualitative design, the study explores how the values of piil pesenggiri specifically nemui nyimah and sakai sambaian are integrated into the curriculum and practices of Islamic education. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The findings indicate that the integration of local cultural values strengthens students' character formation, enhances contextual understanding of Islamic concepts, and fosters inclusive learning interactions across ethnic groups. Teachers and students demonstrated positive responses to culture-based learning, with increased engagement and relevance of learning activities. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that the multicultural environment of the suburban community supports the development of an adaptive and dialogical model of Islamic education. These results highlight the importance of local wisdom pedagogy as a cultural bridge connecting Islamic values with everyday social realities. This study suggests further exploration of local Islamic pedagogy and the broader application of culture-integrated learning across educational settings.
