Abstract

The chiller is one of the devices in the air conditioning system that functions as a heat exchange device. At the airport, the chiller serves as a heat exchange device that will be distributed to the terminal area. The chiller that's on must have a cost for the operation and maintenance of the chiller. Therefore, it is veryimportant to have a condenser working system analysis against the set point chiller value in this study using a Trane brand chiller with type CVHG0780. This set point affects the chiller condenser's operating system. Hopefully this journal will provide a clarification of set point settings for chiller use. To find the best set point, this study collected data by conducting experiments on each chiller operating, then collected the data, and finally processed the data to find the set point that can be justified in the operation of the chiller brand Trane with type CVHG0780, which is the target in this study.

Abstract

An escalator is one of the upward and downward lifting devices consisting of separate steps that can run a long path like a rail or chain driven by a machine. The benefits of escalators are considerable, for example, it can move a lot of people and do not hold a time span, especially during congested hours. Therefore,damage to the escalator is quite disruptive to the comfort of passengers. One important part of the escalator that is quite vulnerable to damage is the footstep. Footstep that serves as a place for passengers to stand and step on. When the author made direct observations, several problems were found in the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Train Station escalator unit. The problem is that the step runs unbalanced, the comb is broken and there is a sound of collision between steps. Based on research to determine the cause of damage to the escalator step and comb unit, it was concluded that there was a collision between the step and the comb on the escalator at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Train Station, which reduced the performance of the escalator because there were indications in the form of broken roller chain, broken rail/track where the roller chain runs, not straight roller connecting plate on the roller chain, then there are different settings between the left and right roller chains, finally the lack of the connecting chain between the gearbox and the drive wheel.

Abstract

This design was made based on problem on the hydrant system, namely the ressure gauge shows the pressure in the hydrant system dropping from 8 bar continuously. There is damage to the pump components in the hydrant system, namely, the impeller is eroded and the seal in the implementation of the dry pump so that the jockey pump cannot provide output air pressure in the hydrant system. Therefore, a pump damage protection was made which functions to turn off the pump when it cannot circulate air for 30 seconds. In the implementation of making arduinobased tools. Arduino works when the pump is on, the flow sensor detects the presence of water or not. If the flow sensor detects no air flow within 30 seconds when the pump is running, the relay will get input and turn off the pump. When the pump is off, the LED and buzzer light up to indicate that the pump is running without dispensing water.

Abstract

Conveyors are a key component in the baggage transportation process at the airport, and bearings play an important role in maintaining optimal performance. Often there is a problem with the release of Polyurethane rubber from the bearing that occurs in the Pressure Roller. In this study, the level 1 R&D research method was used by utilizing 3D modeling simulations to analyze the effect of bearing modifications on conveyor performance. By modifying the bearings on the conveyor at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, this research aims to increase the efficiency of the baggage handling system. The results of this study provide practical recommendations for the implementation of bearing modifications on conveyors at other airports with the aim of increasing operationa performance and efficiency. The results of this research can also become the basis for developing a more efficient baggage handling system at other airports

Abstract

To efficiency time and energy in measuring temperature and humidity in all areas of the terminal area, the authors try to design a tool that functions to measure and record the results of temperature and humidity measurement data at each location in the area of the terminal area. The design of this tool can be an option or choice to consider because so far measurements have been carried out manually (visiting each location directly with a total of 25 locations with a distance of ± 120 meters per location). In addition, these measurements are also carried out 7 times a day for a period of measurement time one time, which is every 2 hours. With these factors, the authors try to modify the manual system to become a completely automatic system by utilizing the Blynk application as an application that will accommodate and be able to display the results of temperature and humidity measurements as well as the NodeMCU ESP8266 and DHT11 sensor as a medium for measuring temperature and humidity. With the implementation of the Internet of Things, Bylnk as the application of the Internet of Things, it is hoped that air temperature and humidity measurements at terminals can be more effective and targeted to take action if problems occur and to prevent problems from beginning. The purpose Bylink application will certainly help a lot in measuring temperature and humidity.

Abstract

Technology continues to experience developments that are members of the industry damcak for aviation in the world and Indonesia. The standard of ability of the shaving workforce engaged in the aviation industry will of course be disputed because of the scrambling development. To be able to compete in an increasingly stringent world of work, it is not only a theory that is relied upon but also a skill and expertise. One technology that continues to develop is the Baggage Handling System ( BHS ) which has a function to move passenger baggage from one place to another continuously and continuously. Problems found in the Baggage Handling System ( BHS ) domestic chest terminal, the presence of ducting devices damaged by friction and/or collisions with passenger luggage/baggage. The existence of chest damage to the ducting tool is feared in the absence of a high check sensor ( height sensor ) chest BHS Domestic Terminal in the departure area ( departure ). A barrier is planned as a substitute for the domestic terminal breast height check sensor. In the study the distance that was too close between the conveyor and the ducting turned out to cause chest damage to the ducting tool. A short and better thing than making a barrier with its safety components. This study will be discussed thoroughly about the Baggage Handling System along with problems and how to overcome them.

Abstract

The number of existing air handling units coupled with the number of technician personnel and having many work assignments is one of the factors causing the difficulty of monitoring all air handling units at Yogyakarta International Airport. The aim of the research is to make it easier for technicians to monitor the AHU in real time so that when damage occurs it can be detected and further action can be taken. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) level 1 research method. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the authors have succeeded in creating a temperature monitoring system in the AHU unit using the DS18B20 temperature sensor and not changing the control circuit of the air handling unit.

Abstract

Escalator is one of the common vertical transportation tools for the aviation industry in the world and Indonesia. To drive the escalator stairs with high efficiency and reliability, inverters are used as a key component in its drive system, responsible for regulating the motor speed and ensuring efficient operation. This study aims to identify and analyze the problems associated with inverters in escalators and their impact on the performance and reliability of the escalator system as a whole. The method carried out by the quantitative method is by collecting the required data ranging from observation, direct measurement, interviews, and literature studies to airport documents. The results showed that the factor causing inverter damage was a sudden power outage by PLN. When the electricity is on, there is a shock voltage above 420 volts which causes overheating in the inverter. To prevent inverter damage, a remote monitoring tool is needed, namely remote monitoring with IoT (Internet of Things) to overcome overheating problems on escalators. This research will thoroughly discuss the damage to the gate 3 inverter component on the escalator of Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang International Airport along with the problems and how to solve them.

Abstract

Indonesia needs effective and efficient transportation to support the needs of transportation facilities. To meet these needs, safe, fast, and comfortable transportation is needed. Passenger comfort is important for airport managers. Scheduled equipment maintenance is needed to maintain airport operational performance, maximize the maintenance and operational performance of Aviobridge, and improve service to passengers and airlines that use Aviobridge usage services. At the current Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar, the operation of the aviobridge with few Human Resources (HR) and the maintenance applied still face obstacles that do not cause the Aviobridge to not operate.

Abstract

Since the official revocation of PPKM throughout Indonesia on 30 December 2022. The number of passengers, especially international passengers, at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has increased by 235% compared to the number of arrivals in 2021. Terminal temperature measurements are routinely carried out in the customs area at the international terminal in July and August proving that something was wrong with the performance of the distribution components of cold air to the area. However, due to reasons of convenience and lack of the number of workers, the inspections were not completely held optimal. So the research was done to find out the main cause of the calculation method is to look for the CFM value in the current AHU condition which will then be compared with the standard AHU CFM value. In addition, the amount of loss incurred in both conditions (current and standard conditions) is also calculated to find out which option produces lower costs and shows a higher level of effectiveness.
