Abstract

Scientific literacy is an essential competency in 21st-century Natural Science (IPA) learning. However, science learning at the junior high school level is still dominated by a textual approach and minimal real-world environmental context, so that the development of students' scientific literacy is not optimal. This article aims to conceptually examine the strengthening of scientific literacy through field trip learning in peatland ecosystems in the science subject of grade VII of junior high school. The writing method used is a conceptual study (conceptual paper) with literature sources in the form of textbooks, accredited national journals, and reputable international journals. The literature was selected based on its relevance to scientific literacy, field trip learning, and peatland ecosystems. The analysis technique was carried out through synthesis and concept mapping. The results of the study indicate that field trip learning in peatland ecosystems has the potential to be a contextual learning approach that is able to integrate knowledge, scientific processes, and scientific attitudes, thereby strengthening the scientific literacy of junior high school students. This article is expected to serve as a theoretical basis for the development of environment-based science learning. Abstrak. Literasi sains merupakan kompetensi esensial dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) abad ke-21. Namun, pembelajaran IPA di tingkat SMP masih didominasi pendekatan tekstual dan minim konteks lingkungan nyata, sehingga pengembangan literasi sains siswa belum optimal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara konseptual penguatan literasi sains melalui pembelajaran field trip pada ekosistem lahan gambut dalam mata pelajaran IPA kelas VII SMP. Metode penulisan yang digunakan adalah kajian konseptual (conceptual paper) dengan sumber literatur berupa buku teks, jurnal nasional terakreditasi, dan jurnal internasional bereputasi. Literatur dipilih berdasarkan relevansi dengan literasi sains, pembelajaran field trip, dan ekosistem lahan gambut. Teknik analisis dilakukan melalui sintesis dan pemetaan konsep. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran field trip ekosistem lahan gambut berpotensi menjadi pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual yang mampu mengintegrasikan pengetahuan, proses sains, dan sikap ilmiah sehingga memperkuat literasi sains siswa SMP. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat menjadi landasan teoretis bagi pengembangan pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan.

Abstract

This research aims to: develop Google Sites-based e-learning media on the material of the excretory system of grade XI high school that is valid and suitable for use in the learning process based on the results of expert validation, biology teacher assessment, and student responses through the ADDIE development model. E-learning products are developed based on the analysis of the needs of teachers and students, then validated by material experts and media experts, and tested on students. The results of the study show that the development process has succeeded in producing learning media that is suitable for use. The validation of material experts in the final stage obtained a percentage of 95% with the category "Very Feasible", while the validation of media experts reached 98% with the category "Very Feasible". Teachers' assessments of e-learning showed a percentage of 91.25% in the "Very Good" category. The response of the students was also very positive, with a feasibility score of 96.87% in the small group trial and 93.84% in the large group trial. Thus, Google Sites-based e-learning is declared feasible to be used as an alternative learning media for Excretion System material in grade XI of high school. abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: mengembangkan media e-learning berbasis Google Sites pada materi sistem ekskresi kelas XI SMA yang valid dan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, penilaian guru biologi, dan respons peserta didik melalui model pengembangan ADDIE. Produk e-learning dikembangkan berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan guru dan peserta didik, kemudian divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, serta diuji cobakan kepada peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan berhasil menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang layak digunakan. Validasi ahli materi pada tahap akhir memperoleh persentase 95% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”, sedangkan validasi ahli media mencapai 98% dengan kategori “Sangat Layak”. Penilaian guru terhadap e-learning menunjukkan persentase 91,25% dalam kategori “Sangat Baik”. Respon peserta didik juga sangat positif, dengan nilai kelayakan 96,87% pada uji coba kelompok kecil dan 93,84% pada uji coba kelompok besar. Dengan demikian, e-learning berbasis Google Sites dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran pada materi Sistem Ekskresi di kelas XI SMA.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka emphasizes the mastery of 21st-century competencies (4C), one of which is critical thinking skills. However, students’ critical thinking skills remain relatively low, as reflected by the decline in the PISA score from 396 in 2018 to 375 in 2022. Critical thinking skills are essential abilities that need to be trained so that students are able to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and solve biological problems logically. The development of digital learning media in the form of Guided Inquiry based electronic student worksheets (E-Worksheet) serves as an alternative to train these skills through the stages of Guided Inquiry. The circulatory system topic was selected because it includes various important concepts that tend to be taught theoretically and are not fully supported by practical activities. This study aims to examine the validity an effectiveness of Guided Inquiry based E-Worksheets in training students’ critical thinking skills. The study employed the ADDIE development model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages, involving 30 eleventh grade senior high school students as research subjects. Data were collected through expert validation and critical thinking skills tests. The E-Worksheets were considered valid and effective if each aspect achieved a minimum percentage of 75%. The results showed that the E-Worksheets obtained an average validity score of 100% (very valid), and critical thinking skills achievement of 92.61% (very effective). Based on these reslult, the Guided Inquiry based E-Worksheets is concluded to be valid and effective in training students’ critical thinking skills. Abstrak. Kurikulum Merdeka menekankan penguasaan kompetensi abad ke-21 (4C), salah satunya keterampilan berpikir kritis. Namun, keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik masih tergolong rendah, yang tercermin dari penurunan skor PISA tahun 2022 sebesar 375 dibandingkan tahun 2018 sebesar 396. Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan penting yang perlu dilatihkan agar peserta didik mampu menganalisis informasi, mengevaluasi argumen, serta menyelesaikan permasalahan biologis secara logis. Pengembangan media pembelajaran digital berupa E-LKPD berbasis Guided Inquiry menjadi alternatif untuk melatihkan keterampilan tersebut melalui tahapan Guided Inquiry. Materi sistem peredaran darah dipilih karena mencakup berbagai konsep penting yang selama ini cenderung diajarkan secara teoritis dan belum seluruhnya didukung oleh kegiatan praktikum. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kevalidan dan keefektifan E-LKPD berbasis Guided Inquiry untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi dengan subjek uji coba sebanyak 30 peserta didik kelas XI SMA. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi validasi ahli dan tes keterampilan berpikir kritis. E-LKPD dinyatakan valid dan efektif apabila masing-masing memperoleh sebesar ≥ 75%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD memperoleh nilai rata-rata validitas 100% (sangat valid), dan ketercapaian indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 92,61% (sangat efektif). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, E-LKPD berbasis Guided Inquiry dinyatakan valid dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

The low science learning outcomes of grade IX B students at SMP Negeri 1 Waingapu are caused by the learning process which is still teacher-centered (conventional), the lack of use of interactive media, and the low active participation of students in understanding abstract concepts. This is evidenced by pre-cycle data where only 19% to 25.8% of students achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims to improve students' cognitive and affective learning outcomes through the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model assisted by animated video media and equipped with Anagram LKPD. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis & McTaggart model. The research subjects were 31 grade IX-B students of SMP Negeri 1 Waingapu. The instruments used included cognitive learning outcome tests and affective observation sheets. The results showed a significant increase in each cycle. In the cognitive domain, the average score increased from 56.77 in the pre-cycle to 64.19 in cycle I, and reached 75.48 in cycle II. The percentage of cognitive classical completion increased from 25.8% (pre-cycle) to 51.61% (cycle I) and reached 90.32% in cycle II. In the affective domain, the percentage of student achievement increased from 19.35% (less category) in the pre-cycle, to 70% (sufficient category) in cycle I, and reached 93.54% (very good category) in cycle II. Abstrak. Rendahnya hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IX B di SMP Negeri 1 Waingapu yang disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru (konvensional), kurangnya penggunaan media interaktif, serta rendahnya partisipasi aktif siswa dalam memahami konsep-konsep abstrak. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan data pra-siklus di mana hanya 19% hingga 25,8% siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif dan afektif siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) yang berbantuan media video animasi dan dilengkapi LKPD Anagram. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis & McTaggart. Subjek penelitian adalah 31 siswa kelas IX-B SMP Negeri 1 Waingapu. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes hasil belajar kognitif dan lembar observasi afektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada setiap siklus. Pada ranah kognitif, nilai rata-rata meningkat dari 56,77 pada pra-siklus menjadi 64,19 pada siklus I, dan mencapai 75,48 pada siklus II. Persentase ketuntasan klasikal kognitif meningkat dari 25,8% (pra-siklus) menjadi 51,61% (siklus I) dan mencapai 90,32% pada siklus II. Pada ranah afektif, persentase ketercapaian siswa meningkat dari 19,35% (kategori kurang) pada pra-siklus, menjadi 70% (kategori cukup) pada siklus I, dan mencapai 93,54% (kategori sangat baik) pada siklus II.
