ABSTRACT Background: Language and speech are one of the parameters of child development. Language and speech are parts of communication that are interrelated and cannot be separated. In practice, the child first develops aspects of his language and then begins to master speaking. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between mother's knowledge about speech language development and social interaction in children with autism spectrum disorder in the technical implementation unit of the Surakarta disability and inclusive education service center. Methods: This research uses quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach, namely taking a relatively short time and a certain place. The data collection technique used a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 30 female respondents. Univariate and bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank statistical test. Results: In the results of the study it was found that mother's knowledge about speech language development was dominated by the sufficient category (50%) and social interaction in children with autism spectrum disorder was dominated by the poor category (76.7%). The results of the bivariate analysis in this study showed that there was a significant relationship between mother's knowledge about speech language development and social interaction in children with autism spectrum disorder in the technical implementation unit of the Surakarta disability and inclusive education service center with the results of the Spearman rank statistical test showing that the value of p = 0.002 (p ≤ 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between mother's knowledge about speech language development and social interaction in children with autism spectrum disorder. Abstract Background: Gross motor skills greatly affect the development of children. If a child experiences motor delays, then the child will experience developmental and growth delays (Permana, 2013). In minimizing errors in meaning (miss understanding), children need to develop pragmatic aspects so that their language skills develop properly (Sari, 2021). Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the crawling phase and pragmatic abilities in preschool-age children at Dharma Wanita Nambakan Kindergarten, Kediri. Method: This type of quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The data collection technique uses total sampling with a sample of 30 respondents. The data that has been collected will be analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Spearman Rank statistical test. Research Outcome: Based on the results of Spearman's Rank analysis test, the value of ρ (sig.) is 0.036 or the value of ρ (sig.) < 0.05, then Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted, indicating that there is a relationship between the paying phase and children's pragmatic abilities. The strength of the correlation or relationship between the two variables is in the range of 0.2 to < 0.4, which is included in the weak category. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the crawling phase and the pragmatic abilities of preschoolers at Dharma Wanita Nambakan Kindergarten, Kediri. Background: Communication needs in children with special needs (ABK) are absolute things to strive for as optimally as possible. One speech therapy approach in facilitating these needs is alternative & augmentative communication (AAC). The development of AAC offers great potential to improve the effectiveness of nonverbal CwSN (Children with Special Needs) communication. Based on surveys, AAC is most widely used for patients with non/minimal verbal such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) or other conditions. Objective: this study aims to develop a mobile application-based AAC media innovation called Comm-Screen. Method: research is carried out quantitatively with tiered surveys and literature studies to design a prototype of the Comm-Screen application. The Comm-Screen application can display symbols (images) and output audio (sounds) that have been adapted to the culture and speech therapy interventions in Indonesia. The Comm-Screen application is also designed based on appropriate interventions and has been studied in the speech therapy profession to treat communication disorders in nonverbal CwSN. Results: From 54 respondents, 97% of them realized the importance of application-based AAC media in Indonesia as one of the preferred methods for learning communication for nonverbal CwSN. 97.7% of respondents stated that the Comm-Screen application prototype is effectively used as a medium for nonverbal CwSN communication intervention in Indonesia. Conclusion: There is hope from speech therapy practitioners for the advancement of AAC media with the Comm-Screen application that can meet the criteria and objectives of speech therapy interventions in Indonesia. Improvements and development of Comm-Screen applications are still needed as the need for future interventions increases. Keywords: AAC, Communication, Nonverbal, Speech therapy

Background: Speech delay in children is a common problem. A child is said to be late in speaking if his speech ability is below the proper level of development of the child's speech, and this has an impact on the child in developing his social skills (social skills). So it needs to be a serious concern for parents in supporting their children. Objectives: This research aims to determine the relation between parental support and social skill in children with speech delay aged 3-6 years at Liliput Clinic, Jakarta. Methods: This is a quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design and a correlational approach. Total Sampling was used as a data sampling technique for 35 samples. The research instrument used a questionnaire on parental support and social skills. Both data scales are ordinal and analyzed using the Kendall Tau test. Results: Based on the correlation test data analysis, the result is p = 0.006 which means that the p value < 0.05. So it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This indicates that there is a relation between parental support and social skill in children with speech delay. Meanwhile, the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.337 which indicates that the relationship between the two variables is in the weak category and the direction of the correlation is positive. Conclusion: It can be concluded from this research that there is a relation between parental support and social skill in children with speech delay aged 3-6 years at Liliput Clinic, Jakarta.
