Abstract

Background: Maternal anemia has significant negative impacts on both mothers and babies. The risk of death in pregnant women with severe anemia is reported to be twice as high as in those without severe anemia. This article aims to identify the factors contributing to iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women. Materials and Methods: In this study, literature was searched through various online databases, including PubMed, BMC Public Health, and Google Scholar. This systematic review included only freely accessible articles published between 2020 and 2024. The research questions were formulated using the PET framework model and using PRISMA. Result: The literature search yielded a total of 174,146 articles, of which 156,763 were removed due to duplication, and 63 were excluded as they were published before 2020. After the initial screening, 16,294 articles remained but were further filtered out due to irrelevant abstracts and failure to meet inclusion criteria. A second screening of full-text articles left 1,018, which were further narrowed down based on inclusion criteria, resulting in 15 articles. Comclusion : This study concludes that anemia in pregnant women is caused by internal factors, such as biological and physiological conditions, as well as external factors, such as socioeconomic status and access to healthcare. These factors interact with each other, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach to prevention and management.

Abstract

The virus known as the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) attacks white blood cells, lowering immunity and leading to AIDS. The symptoms of HIV infection lead to a decline in human immunity, which can result in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS. Their ignorance of the fundamentals of how HIV/AIDS spreads to other people is the cause of many occurrences of the disease. Making an effort to educate people is one way to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Increased awareness of HIV/AIDS through education can promote behavioral changes and preventative measures. To combat and lower the number of HIV/AIDS cases, attitudes and behaviors toward prevention are essential. Pre-Experimental with the One Group is the research methodology employed in this study. Design method: Pre-Test Post-Test. Giving broad information on HIV/AIDS and how to prevent it through a safety meeting that uses PowerPoint is the study's independent variable. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and attitudes toward HIV/AIDS prevention are the study's dependent variables. There were 113 participants in the study.53 individuals make up the sample size. utilizing a basic random sampling strategy for sampling. A validity test using the same respondent characteristics was carried out at PT Y. A questionnaire was the tool utilized. bivariate Shapiro-Wilk analysis and univariate frequency distribution. From March to July 2024, this study was carried out at PT X in Tembagapura District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua. With a P value of 0.000 <alpha 0.05, there is a difference in HIV/AIDS preventive knowledge before and after health education through safety meetings. Abstract

BackgroundPatient satisfaction is a vital indicator of healthcare quality, particularly in inpatient settings where nursing care plays a central role. Nurses’ responsiveness, communication, empathy, and technical competence significantly influence patient perceptions, clinical outcomes, and hospital reputation. Understanding what drives satisfaction with nursing care is essential for delivering patient-centered care. AimsThis review synthesizes recent global evidence on adult inpatient satisfaction with nursing care, identifies key influencing factors, highlights research gaps, and suggests recommendations for healthcare improvement. MethodsA literature review was conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect, guided by the PEO framework. Studies from 2020–2025 involving adult inpatients and measuring satisfaction with nursing care were included if they were in English, primary research, and scored ≥80% on the MMAT. PRISMA guidelines structured the selection process, and data were narratively synthesized. ResultsStudies from China, Indonesia, Jordan, Ethiopia, Ghana, Finland, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and South India showed moderate to high patient satisfaction with nursing care. Key determinants included nurse professionalism, communication, empathy, responsiveness, and technical skill. Socio-demographic factors (age, income, education), hospital characteristics (type, staffing), and cultural influences impact satisfaction. Private hospitals and higher socioeconomic groups reported greater satisfaction, while gaps persist in responsiveness and assurance. Failures in nursing care, such as delays and poor communication, were linked to lower satisfaction. Most studies used validated questionnaires, but standardization was lacking. ConclusionPatient satisfaction with nursing care was generally positive but varies by context. Addressing gaps in responsiveness and assurance, ensuring equitable resources, and using standardized, culturally sensitive tools were crucial for improving satisfaction and care quality.

Abstract

Background: Prenatal education interventions are widely implemented in routine antenatal care to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes. However, evidence regarding their effectiveness remains inconsistent across populations and intervention modalities. Objective: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of prenatal education interventions in reducing maternal anxiety and improving birth-related outcomes. Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO was conducted from database inception to January 2024. Eligible studies included randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental designs assessing prenatal education interventions with outcomes related to maternal anxiety and birth metrics. Two reviewers performed screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessments independently, following PRISMA guidelines and utilising the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. Results: Twenty-eight studies encompassing 5,847 participants were included. Meta-analysis showed a significant reduction in maternal anxiety associated with prenatal education (standardised mean difference [SMD] = –0.42, 95% CI: –0.58 to –0.26, p < 0.001). While significant improvements were observed in maternal knowledge (SMD = 0.65) and self-efficacy (SMD = 0.51), evidence for effects on clinical outcomes such as cesarean delivery rates and birth weight was limited and inconsistent. Conclusions: Prenatal education interventions are effective in reducing maternal anxiety and enhancing maternal knowledge and self-efficacy. However, their impact on clinical birth outcomes remains unclear, highlighting the need for further high-quality studies with standardised methodologies and long-term follow-up.

Abstract

Background:Oxidative stress, characterized by an imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and antioxidant defense systems, has emerged as a critical factor in the pathogenesis of various chronic diseases. Understanding its mechanisms and therapeutic implications is essential for developing effective interventions. Objective:This review aims to evaluate the role of oxidative stress in chronic diseases and to analyze the efficacy of pharmacological interventions with antioxidant or pro-oxidant properties across cardiovascular, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and oncological disorders. Methods:A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science for articles published between January 2000 and December 2024. Inclusion criteria encompassed original studies (RCTs, observational, and preclinical) examining oxidative stress biomarkers and therapeutic outcomes. Quality assessment employed validated tools including the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool, Newcastle-Ottawa Scale, and AMSTAR-2. A narrative synthesis approach was used due to heterogeneity in study designs. Results:Malondialdehyde (MDA) and 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) were the most consistently elevated markers across diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, Parkinson’s disease, COPD, psoriasis, and chronic kidney disease. Antioxidant enzymes—superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione (GSH)—were frequently reduced, indicating compromised redox defense. MDA and SOD levels were responsive to lifestyle or pharmacological interventions, highlighting their potential for therapeutic monitoring. Heterogeneity in biomarker assessment methods limited cross-study comparisons. Conclusion:Oxidative stress biomarkers demonstrate consistent alterations across chronic diseases, suggesting their utility in disease monitoring and risk stratification. MDA, 8-OHdG, SOD, and CAT are among the most clinically informative markers. Standardized measurement protocols are essential to improve their translational value in redox-based diagnostics and therapeutic evaluation

Abstract

Nutrition is a problem that exists in every country, including poor, developing and developed countries. Child malnutrition is still a problem in Indonesia. It is known that until 2015 there were around 1 million children in Indonesia who were malnourished. For Pasaman District in 2016, based on the results of mass weighing conducted simultaneously, the prevalence of malnutrition was 0.9%. This figure increased in 2017 to 4.4% based on the results of Riskesdas. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the incidence of malnutrition in toddlers in Kampung Kering Tanauli Village, Rao District, Pasaman Regency. This research was conducted with descriptive analytic method with cross sectional design. The population is all mothers who have toddlers totaling 121 people and with a sample size of 55 people. Data processing and analysis were carried out by computerization using the chi square test statistical test. The results showed a relationship between education, sanitation, behavior, and socioeconomics with the incidence of malnutrition in toddlers in Kampung Kering Tanauli Village, Rao District, Pasaman Regency. It is expected that mothers can follow the development of health information, especially regarding toddlers, both through counseling activities and from print and electronic media and always actively participate in posyandu activities so that the development of the nutritional status of their toddlers can be known.
