Abstract

The number of neonatal deaths this year has increased very significantly compared to last year, namely 265 deaths. Neonatal deaths contribute 59% to infant deaths, where one of the biggest causes is neonatal tetanus, which is an umbilical cord infection that occurs in babies. Therefore, proper umbilical cord care is needed to prevent umbilical cord infections. Objective: The aim of this research is to analyze the incidence of umbilical cord infections at Hospital X, South Jakarta. Methods: Using quantitative research methods with a case control approach design. With 15 cases and 30 controls. The research instrument used a questionnaire on knowledge, attitudes, maternal support and how to care for the umbilical cord. Statistical tests use the Chi-Square test. Result: With the research results, the average age of respondents is 20-35 years, the mother's level of knowledge is good (47.5%), the mother's attitude (62.2%), family support (60%), and how to care for the umbilical cord is good (57, 8). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between maternal age, p-value 0.545 and the incidence of umbilical cord infection, there is a significant relationship p-value 0.000 of knowledge, maternal attitudes, family support, how to care for the umbilical cord and the incidence of infection. Suggestions for workplaces can be used as input to improve nursing interventions such as education about umbilical cord care, for mothers who have neonates it is hoped that the pocket book can be used as a reference in umbilical cord care, for educational institutions can facilitate post-partum mothers through health education, suggestions for future researchers are to consider other variables that might influence the incidence of umbilical cord infections, such as environment and culture.

Abstract

Noise exposure can hurt the health of industrial workers, especially the hearing loss in agricultural industry workers. This study aims to analyze noise exposure that can cause hearing loss in agricultural workers. The method used is a literature review approach to 10 journals published nationally and internationally that are reputable with search engines through 3 databases: Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Pubmed in the 2019-2024 publication period. This study found that several factors can cause hearing loss in agricultural industry workers, consisting of two factors that cause disorders: individual and worker factors. Individual factors are age and level of knowledge, while work factors are length of service, length of work, noise intensity, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Workers need to increase their knowledge regarding the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of hearing loss in the agricultural industry. Therefore, health workers, especially nurses, must be involved in educating agricultural industry workers.

Abstract

Crop failure often happens to farmers, so they are vulnerable to considerable losses, and farmers experience psychosocial disorders such as stress, sadness, and anxiety due to crop failure. When facing crop failure, it is necessary to have a stress-coping strategy to help farmers control their emotions. The method used was a literature review, with a search using three databases, namely Google Scholar, Pubmed, and ScienceDirect, using the keywords psychosocial, farmers, crop failure, and coping mechanisms. The journal articles used for review were 10 journals, with four international and six national journals. Psychosocial pressure on farmers is marked by increased stress in the form of anxiety, disappointment, low self-esteem, antisocial behavior, and loss of motivation to return to farming. Stress coping mechanisms carried out by farmers are perfect for controlling farmers facing crop failure. Besides, farmers have different coping mechanisms; for example, some do their favorite hobbies to distract their minds; on the other hand, some choose relaxation therapy and pray to calm their minds. Stress coping management is effective in helping farmers manage emotions when experiencing crop failure; many farmers can control stress when experiencing crop failure even though they divert it to something positive and some to something negative. In addition to crop failure, stress-coping management strategies can also overcome problems related to farmers' work.

Abstract

Menstruation is a physiological change that occurs periodically in the female body and is influenced by reproductive hormones. However, not all female adolescents experience a normal menstrual cycle. Many suffer from conditions such as oligomenorrhea, polymenorrhea, or amenorrhea, and experience dysmenorrhea pain. Dysmenorrhea management can be performed through pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods, one of which is by consuming saffron stigma infusion. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a twogroup pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 60 female adolescents experiencing dysmenorrhea, divided into two groups: the treatment group, which received saffron stigma infusion, and the control group, which received warm compress therapy. Pain levels were measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis was conducted using the Paired T-Test with SPSS 16 software. The study revealed that saffron stigma infusion was effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain in female adolescents (p < 0.05), whereas the warm compress group did not show any significant changes. Saffron stigma infusion has been proven to be effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain in female adolescents, while warm compress therapy does not provide a significant effect.

Abstract

Concurring to World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2018, exclusive breastfeeding reached 38%. This is still below the WHO target of 50% Exclusive Breastfeeding achievement. Sukkari dates have rich nutritional content, including carbohydrates and energy, vitamin B6, folic acid, minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium), fiber, antioxidants. These contents play a role in increasing the energy and nutrients needed by mothers during breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving sukkari date juice (Phoenix Dactylifera L) on the volume of breast milk in postpartum mothers in the obstetric room of Arosuka Hospital in 2025. The research design used was pre-experimental with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The research sample involved 14 breastfeeding mothers. The research was conducted in March 2025 to April 2025. The average volume of breast milk before being given Sukkari date juice was 27.79 and the average volume of breast milk after being given Sukkari date juice was 59.86. The p value of the research data is 0.000 (<0.05). Based on statistical analysis, it was concluded that there was an effect of giving Sukkari date juice (Phoenix Dactylifera L) on the volume of breast milk in postpartum mothers in the obstetrics room of Arosuka Hospital in 2025. The implication of this study is that the breastfeeding mothers can be encouraged to consume Sukkari date juice as an alternative before using drugs and supplements to stimulate breast milk production.
