Abstract

Limited storage space for clothes in modern residences, such as boarding houses and apartments, often creates practical problems in daily life. This study aimed to design and manufacture a 90° S-shaped clothes hanger made of steel that can be securely mounted on the top edge of a 38 mm-thick door leaf. The manufacturing process included designing the hanger, cutting a steel plate measuring 210 × 20 × 2 mm, shaping both ends into semicircles, smoothing sharp edges, marking bending lines, performing sequential bending operations, applying surface finishing through painting or chromium/nickel plating, and conducting quality and dimensional inspections. The final product was a durable steel clothes hanger with a 90° S-shaped configuration that can be easily installed on room or bathroom doors without requiring holes or permanent modifications. Testing results showed that the hanger could support loads of up to 6 kg while maintaining structural integrity. The manufacturing cost was approximately IDR 9,500 per unit, with a production time of about 3 minutes per piece. These results indicate that the developed hanger provides a practical, portable, and cost-effective solution for increasing clothing storage capacity in limited residential spaces while preserving the condition of the door surface.

Abstract

The footwear industry is a labor-intensive sector that heavily relies on operators’ manual activities; therefore, production efficiency cannot be separated from ergonomic working conditions. PT Intidragon Suryatama faces several challenges, including process waste, high lead times, and potential ergonomic risks caused by improper working postures and repetitive work activities. These conditions may lead to decreased productivity, longer processing times, and musculoskeletal complaints that can adversely affect operators’ health and performance. Therefore, an approach that focuses not only on process efficiency but also on ergonomics as a supporting factor for productivity is required. This study aims to analyze the production flow using the Lean Manufacturing approach through Value Stream Mapping (VSM), identify operators’ ergonomic risks, and formulate work system improvement proposals by integrating VSM and ergonomic analysis using Digital Human Modeling (DHM). This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through field observations, interviews, and documentation. The analysis was conducted by developing a current-state VSM to identify value-added and non-value-added activities as well as sources of waste in the production process. Furthermore, DHM-assisted ergonomic analysis was performed to evaluate operators’ working postures and identify potential musculoskeletal disorder risks. The findings were then used as the basis for designing a future-state VSM and proposing improvement initiatives. The results indicate that the integration of Lean Manufacturing, VSM, and ergonomics can identify human-related waste and generate improvement recommendations that have the potential to reduce lead time, minimize waste, enhance workplace safety, and support sustainable improvements in operator productivity within the company.

Abstract

The tea packaging industry requires consistent tea tag quality because it affects packaging performance and customer satisfaction. However, the cold seal coating process still faces various defects, such as blank coating, cold seal medium clumping, and blocking, which increase scrap and rework costs. This study aims to analyze and reduce product defects using the Six Sigma method and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) through the DMAIC stages. The analysis was conducted by calculating the sigma level, evaluating process stability using Control charts, identifying the root causes of defects through cause-and-effect diagrams, and determining improvement priorities based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. Proposed improvements include standardizing process parameters, enhancing inspection procedures, training operators, and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) along with periodic process Controls. The results of various studies show that the application of Six Sigma and FMEA can increase the sigma level from approximately 3.77 to 4.35, thereby improving process capability and stability. The main factors causing defects stem from inconsistencies in process parameters, material quality, and machine conditions. The implementation of the proposed improvements is expected to reduce the defect rate and improve the quality of tea tag products in the cold-seal coating process.

Abstract

Village accountability documents or Surat Pertanggungjawaban (SPJ) require an archival system that is accurate, traceable, and efficient to support financial administration and audit readiness. In many village offices, SPJ archives are still managed manually, causing delays in retrieval, risks of physical loss, and weak monitoring of document status. This study aims to implement a village SPJ archive retrieval system based on RFID and QR-Code to improve retrieval speed and administrative accountability. The research uses a system development approach through needs analysis, database design, implementation of QR-Code identification for digital access, and RFID tagging for physical storage tracking. The proposed system integrates document metadata, storage location, lending records, and activity logs to support end-to-end traceability. The results indicate that QR-Code enables quick access to archive information, while RFID strengthens physical tracking of archive containers and locations. The integration of both technologies provides a practical solution for improving archival efficiency and accountability in village financial administration. This study contributes a contextual model for digital archiving that can be adapted to local government document management.

Abstract

Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) using line-follower navigation perform effectively on fixed routes, but their flexibility is limited when routes change or obstacles block the path. This study experimentally evaluated the performance of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and line-follower navigation and examined the contribution of SLAM to AGV operational flexibility. Both navigation systems were tested on the same AGV platform under four scenarios: speed variation, obstacles, payload variation, and route reconfiguration. The evaluated parameters included endpoint position error, travel time, task completion, and route reconfiguration time. User perceptions were also evaluated involving 16 personnel with experience in AGV operation or observation. The results showed that the line follower was faster and more accurate under static conditions. At speeds of 0.188 and 0.377 m/s, its mean position errors were 1.06 and 2.25 cm, respectively, compared with 8.42 and 8.49 cm for SLAM. In contrast, SLAM completed all scenarios involving 1–10 obstacles, whereas the line follower failed to complete the task when its physical path was blocked. The strongest advantage of SLAM was observed in route reconfiguration, requiring an average of 35 s compared with 286 s for the line follower, representing an 87.8% reduction. User evaluation yielded a composite score of 4.44 out of 5 with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.863. These findings indicate a clear trade-off between navigation efficiency and operational flexibility. Line-follower navigation remains advantageous for fixed and repetitive routes, whereas SLAM provides greater value in industrial environments requiring frequent route changes and adaptive obstacle handling.

Abstract

The increasing scarcity of water resources and the need for optimal soil moisture levels for plant growth have driven the development of smart irrigation systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This study presents a prototype of an automatic plant watering control system using an ESP32 microcontroller equipped with a capacitive soil moisture sensor, relay module, and I2C LCD interface. The system is designed with two operating modes: an automatic mode that independently activates the water pump based on soil moisture thresholds, and a manual mode that allows users to control the pump directly through the Blynk application on a smartphone. Sensor data is transmitted to the Blynk platform in real-time via a WiFi connection using virtual pin communication protocols. Test results show that the system is capable of reading soil moisture values with good accuracy, responding to changes in soil conditions in less than 2 seconds, and simultaneously displaying moisture status and pump conditions on both the LCD and the Blynk application. This system is expected to serve as a solution for efficient water use in urban and household agriculture, supporting the concept of sustainable and energy-efficient farming.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop an Arduino Mega 2560-based Integrated Ship Water Ballast System to improve the monitoring and control of ballast water distribution on a ship prototype. The system integrates A02YYUW ultrasonic sensors to measure water levels in four ballast tanks, an MPU6050 sensor to detect pitch and roll angles, relay modules to control eight ballast pumps, and a web dashboard for real-time monitoring. The research methodology consisted of system design, implementation, sensor calibration, and rebalancing tests under floating conditions. MPU6050 calibration was conducted through 10 static measurements by comparing sensor readings with a portable clinometer. The calibration results produced a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.046°, with a maximum error of 0.07°, which was below the specified tolerance limit of 1.0°. The rebalancing system was evaluated through 10 trials involving variations in load magnitude and load position. All trials were successfully completed, resulting in a 100% success rate. The average magnitude of the roll angle decreased from 2.30° before rebalancing to 1.54° after rebalancing, representing an improvement of approximately 33.04%. These results demonstrate that the developed system can detect changes in ship orientation and respond through ballast water redistribution. The proposed system provides a foundation for further development of an adaptive smart ballast system to support ship safety and operational efficiency.

Abstract

The viral spread of a video in April 2026 featuring electric motorcycles branded with the National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional) logo sparked public debate on X regarding the budget transparency of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program, specifically concerning the procurement of electric motorcycles for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG). The sheer volume of data and the rapid dissemination of information on social media render manual analysis inadequate. This study aims to map the distribution of public sentiment (positive, neutral, negative), measure the performance of the classification model, and identify dominant keywords within each sentiment category. Data were collected via web scraping from X using keywords related to the SPPG electric motorcycle procurement issue during the April–May 2026 period. Following preprocessing, automated labeling was performed using the IndoBERT model with a confidence threshold of 0.60, and the results were manually validated against a sample of 500 data points. Feature extraction utilized TF-IDF, while sentiment classification employed a Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm based on LinearSVC, evaluated using Stratified 5-Fold Cross-Validation. The results reveal a predominance of neutral sentiment (43.25%), followed by negative sentiment (38.73%) and positive sentiment (18.01%). The SVM model achieved an accuracy of 78.18% with a macro F1-score of 0.77. Data from May 2026 indicate a rise in negative sentiment to 66.01%, signaling widespread public concern regarding the transparency and budget governance of the MBG program.

Abstract

User satisfaction is an important indicator for evaluating the success of e-commerce applications because it is closely related to user experience and continued application usage. This study aims to analyze the effects of software quality based on ISO/IEC 25010 and the User Experience (UX) Framework on user experience, satisfaction, and continuance intention toward the Shopee application, as well as to examine the relationships among the research variables using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). This quantitative study employed a survey involving 155 Shopee users in Central Lombok Regency. The research instrument consisted of 11 variables and 55 indicators measured using a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4 through outer model evaluation, inner model evaluation, and hypothesis testing using 5,000-times bootstrapping. The outer model evaluation indicated that all indicators met convergent validity and reliability requirements, while discriminant validity was established based on the Fornell-Larcker criterion and Heterotrait-Monotrait ratio. The R² values indicated that the model explained 79.3% of user satisfaction and 70.8% of continuance intention. Of the 14 tested relationships, 8 hypotheses were supported and 6 were rejected. The strongest relationship was found between Satisfaction and Continuance Intention, with a path coefficient of 0.545 and a p-value of 0.006. These findings indicate that user satisfaction is a key factor influencing users' intention to continue using the Shopee application.
